What can be found in a name:
Lena Marie Becket
When the day I was born:
DOB 28/11/1959 (she's 16 now and a fifth year)
The Angels screamed:
Parents-Hikari Lee Becket and Thomas Jones Becket (both dead)
And Hell shut its doors:
Tigger-a white cat and Tornado-a black owl
While creatures retreated:
Half Blood
To depths unknown:
Gryffindor
I hide from them:
Library and by the lake
Be who they want to see:
Lena has bright brown almond shaped eyes that are, more likely than not, caught staring into space or reading a book if she is not talking to anyone. When around people her eyes will almost always be smiling.
Her hair is brown but changes shades, depending on the light. Sometimes it looks like brown, others it looks very dark. Her hair is naturally curly but it is not a mass of curls that cannot be controlled but loose wavy curls that she loves to play with. More often than not, though, she straightens it. If she is busy at work, her hair will be pulled up into a ponytail to keep it out of the way because it is so long but otherwise it can usually be found, laying across her shoulders. Lena’s hair goes down to mid back.
She is very short, only reaching about 5’2” on a good day. But her height doesn’t stop her from being who she is. In fact, it probably helped. Her body might not be tall but she didn’t look like a child either.
She had an athletic build that allowed her to be able to handle all kinds of exercise but she was also curvy where a female should be curvy. While she might have more curves than the next girl, they never made her stand out that much.
Her skin is obviously the light brown color that all people of Asian descent share. But it is not without a few marks. She has plenty of scars that show just how much of an interesting life she’d lived. The only scars that are really outstanding are the claw marks down her back. She’d been attacked by a big dog when she was little and it left 8 long scratches from its nails down and across her back. They have lightened with age but are still noticeable against her natural skin color.
The only other major marking on her skin is her wizard paint tattoo. Wizard paint tattoos can either move across the skin, like a dragon breathing fire or flapping wings, or it can change color, maybe even depending on moods if a certain charm is used. Sometimes they can even “hide” in that they go invisible for as long as needed. Lena’s wizard paint tattoo is of shooting stars. It is to the side of her belly button, facing away from it to her side, and will occasionally “shoot” across her skin to land on a space on her back then jump back again if she wants it too. Otherwise it stays in one place.
But that leaves no one:
To discover that inside:
Loyal-Lena is loyal to a fault. She values people who really care about her and if you are her friend, she’s more loyal than any dog. She’s so used to not having anyone, she does everything she can to help those who stay around.
Afraid-She’s afraid of a lot of things. They keep her up at night, worry her. She’s afraid of never being loved, of never having her own family instead of a made up one of friends, afraid of actually trusting someone to love her. She’s afraid of not making it big in their world. She’s afraid of many, many things but that never stopped her from doing what she needed to do. She hides the fear, not wanting to worry her friends, but it’s never far from her private thoughts.
Intelligent-Lena loves to read and she loves to learn new things. While homework can sometimes be a big pain, Lena still does it and her mind is filled with all sorts of information. She also loves to solve puzzles. Not picture puzzles but mental game puzzles that make someone actually think.
Helpful-Lena likes to help. She’s an assistant dance instructor at a dance school for young girls. She helps out there whenever she can. She helps out her friends when they need her, no matter the time. She just thinks everyone should help someone at least once a day. The world is a dark place. Helping each other might actually make the world brighter.
Flirty-She loves to flirt. It’s safe and easy to do. She doesn’t have to worry about being hurt because, well, it’s flirting which basically means it isn’t that personal. Flirting isn’t a personal thing. You can flirt with someone without actually wanting to be with them.
Lonely-Lena might have tons of friends, but they aren’t always around. At night, she’s completely alone. Same as on holidays. Her whole family is dead so there is no one she can talk to those quiet nights in the darkness. No one to hold her and take care of her. And it hurts her, but she blames herself for it, mostly.
Polite-Lena is nothing if not polite. She doesn’t try to get into trouble and tries to avoid it. But she’s not very trusting until she gets to know a person. In the cases of her meeting strangers, she’s always polite, but friendly. What’s the point in being angry and mean to someone you didn’t even know?
Stubborn-She is very stubborn in that she doesn’t like to be wrong. She also doesn’t like to not finish things. She always finishes them. Maybe that’s a little more OCD than stubborn. She always tries to prove her point and it sometimes annoys people. She also never backs down from something.
This soulless being:
Reading
Friends
Cooking
School
Night time
Is just as lost:
Rudeness
Jerks
Slytherin
Early Mornings
Too much homework
As everyone else:
Friendly
Loyal
Passionate
Polite
Adventurous
In a world that knows only hate:
Clumsy
Talkative
Opinionative
Obsessive Compulsive Organization
Self blaming
And causes pain for the soulless like me:
There are two things about Lena she never tells anyone else. Her parents are dead and have been for a long time. People know that. But no one knows the darker side of things. Only her. One of her secrets is that she was even with her parents when they died. She usually says she was at a friend’s house. The other, and even more terrible secret, was that she is to blame for their deaths. If it hadn’t been for her and her distracting them and being clumsy, they would still be alive.
They left me to die:
The Kawamoto family is an old pureblood family from Japan. They do not care if their family stays pure but are equal to everyone. Hikari was the last Kawamoto except for Lena. All of the Kawamoto fortune as a pureblood family was left to her.
On a bed of roses:
The Becket family was just your average muggle family. They knew nothing about magic being real and fairy tales having truth to them. But when Thomas met Hikari, that all changed. Thomas ended up having to leave his family though because of Hikari and so the Becket’s cut off all contacts to their son and their grandchild. There has been no word from them since Thomas married Hikari.
Blood seeping through:
The Kawamoto purebloods put up a front before the public that they hated muggles and only wanted purity in their family. They did this to save her daughter. No one knows that Hikari married a muggle in the wizarding world. They just said that their daughter had left to some unknown location. Lena cannot claim herself as the heir to the family line out loud but the family knew.
The satin sheets of fame:
very well off
What a bitter story of love:
Lena Marie Becket was born to a small, but very loving, family. She only had her mom and her dad but that didn’t mean anything. Her parents loved her completely and she loved them. While it was hard being an only child, it was even worse being a child that had magic. She went to regular public school with regular kids until one day, when she was about 5 or 6, a bully decided he wanted the toy she was playing with, and couldn’t wait to ask for it. The little boy snatched the toy from her and shoved Lena into a big puddle of mud, ruining the pretty little dress of hers her mom had just gotten her for Easter. She was so upset she started crying but while she cried, the boy who had hurt her was floating in the air, a good few feet above the ground. Her mother got there and fixed it all but from then on, till she was told she was accepted to Hogwarts, she was home schooled. That was the first time she showed more magic than just getting her sippy cup to float from the counter to her.
Lena loved it at Hogwarts. All was great. Her parents were so proud of her. Her mother had gone to another school of wizardry but that didn’t stop her from being excited her only child made it into the Gryffindor House. One summer, the summer before her third year, she was home on holiday. A fun time to be had for sure. Her parents and her were headed toward the beach in their car when Lena and her dad started arguing about something. Of all things, over her bathing suit being a bikini instead of a one piece. The fight seems so stupid later in her life, because it ended up costing her more than anything else. Her father had turned to look at her to continue to argue and didn’t see the man in the eighteen wheeler running the red light and headed straight at them. Lena did and screamed but it was too late. The truck crashed into the front side of their car, killing her father almost instantly before flipping it over and over till the car finally landed upside down. Lena couldn’t stop screaming as she tried to get out and to her parents but her body was hurt from crashing around the back seat so much in her belt, she could barely move. Her mother was barely alive. Her mother and Lena were rushed to the hospital immediately. Hikari died within hours, leaving Lena all alone. Lena might have healed completely after the crash on the outside, but the scars on her heart would always be there.
Hikari’s side of the family heard about it and, even though they could not recognize her publically, they sent a couple of servants to stay with Lena and take care of her until she came of age. They were her guardians until she turned 16 and then she was allowed to live alone and take care of herself, using the money from being the heir to the Kawamoto clan. Her life was hard, not having her parents. She refused to tell people that she had been the reason they died but it was an ever pressing thought in the back of her head. Now, Lena is alone in London, ending her fifth year at Hogwarts where everything might, and probably will, change.
Lena smiled slightly as she finished getting dressed for classes so she could head down to the Great Hall to eat breakfast. She had left her hair curly today, not really feeling like messing with it. A final look over in the mirror told her that her tie was perfectly done, her shirt was tucked in, her hair was behaving, and her Gryffindor badge was proudly showing.
Lena left her room were some other 5th year girls lived and went to the common room to wait on a few of her friends who woke up when she did. Most of them liked to sleep in as long as possible and then would run downstairs and grab a fast breakfast before racing to class. Lena would prefer not to rush so she always got up relatively early. While she wasn’t a morning person, and hated being awake until she had her shower in the morning, it was a necessity for her life. Her bag with books and parchment and quills was slung over her shoulder before they left the portrait, waving goodbye to the Fat Lady.
The trip down to the Great Hall did not take long and soon they were at their seats, talking about the classes for the day, including how, once again, they seemed to be stuck in Potions with the Slytherin’s. As they debated on why they were always put with them, Lena thinking Dumbledor did it because it amused him, she fixed herself some coffee and munched on a piece of toast. Not an elaborate bit of food, but it worked. Their talk continued on, changing to other subjects, when she noticed one of her friends sigh and get a dreamy look on her face.
Lena snorted slightly with amusement and looked toward the doors, seeing her friend’s crush walk through them and head toward their table. To save her friend she, not really gently, kicked her knee under the table, snapping her friend back to reality. Lena snickered at the half thankful half glare she was given. They all went back to their food, knowing class would start soon.
