As Remus talked and tried to comfort her into thinking that she hadn't injured him whatsoever, she personally couldn't help but think about what a nice shade of brown his eyes were. She sort of zoned out, and she didn't even realize it when he stopped talking. She felt a little too close to him, but in a good way, and she realized in that exact moment how much of a good time she was actually having, despite the fact that she just threw him into a wall. She shook her head, and stood up a little too quickly.
"Right," she said, shaking her head again. Annelise looked down at him and smiled. "Yeah, I guess I can be happy that I actually got the spell to work," she laughed joyously. "Can you believe I actually did it? I guess my mind doesn't think of you as too much of a thread."
Annelise hoped that he didn't think that she meant that as an insult. In fact, she meant it as a good thing. She supposed it meant that she wasn't intimidated by him. She looked back at the dummies, but doubted very much she'd still be able to work on them. She sighed.
"Thank a lot, it means a lot to me," she said, still grinning. "Did you want to take a break, though? I'd rather see this as fun than as work, and I don't really think I'm ready to move on yet, anyways. Unless you think I am." Realistically, she just wanted to talk to him some more. She supposed she could do both, but she felt a bit overwhelmed about what she had done. Annelise realized her hands felt really stiff at her sides, but she didn't want to cross her arms either in fear of seeming, well, closed off. Never before had she really felt gangly, but this time she did. She felt like she was completely aware of every inch of her body, and it wasn't something that she was used to, and it unnerved her. Remus was just glad she didn't doubt he wasn't in any pain. His head was thumping a little, but apart from that he was really fine. He was actually quite proud of her that she'd blown him backwards like that, Remus still believed a good disarming spell could save lives - it bought you time to apparate (not that they could apparate yet, but they would.. in time). She was silent when he'd retrieved his wand and after a silence that lasted just a bit too long, he cleared his throat and smiled weakly; Annelise seemed to descend from her train of thought.
She smiled back at him and he felt compelled to smile back. "Yeah, I guess I can be happy that I actually got the spell to work. Can you believe I actually did it? I guess my mind doesn't think of you as too much of a thread." He laughed softly. "I'm glad you don't consider me dangerous." Remus was so focused on the fact that she'd finally managed, he even temporarily forgot the fact he was dangerous, actually. "Don't just be happy, you should be proud of yourself - you pretty much progressed a 100% within one day," he commented.
Remus nodded a little when she suggested a break. "Sounds good to me." He could use a sit-down and a cup of tea, really. Besides.. stopping with a success was always a good idea - it motivated and boosted the confidence, overall. To be honest, he wouldn't mind talking to her some more. In the shirt time they'd known each other, Remus had to admit he felt at ease with her (which was pretty much a miracle 'an sich') and actually liked her. Plus, well.. she was pretty - not just pretty, actually beautiful. "Sit down, then, shall we?" he asked, gesticulating over to the chairs near the fire, which had not died down, of course. "Maybe we could get that pensieve of you to work," he suggested and smiled.

"Well, I can't say whether you're dangerous or not," Annelise paused for a breif second. "But I don't think you're dangerous to me."
Annelise went and sat back in one of the chairs, pleased to see that more Butterbeer appeared. She took a rather large gulp, and looked back at her companion, "Well, it's just the tip of the iceberg. I might be able to attack you, but probably not that dummie, or in front of the class."
She didn't want to talk herself down, but at the same time, she was a realist. She knew she'd need at least a few more lessons, and she was looking forward to them.
"Oh yes, I nearly forgot about that!" she exclaimed, joyously. She summoned the Pensieve to where they were sitting, for she was a bit too lazy to walk over to grab it. She placed it on the table between them and looked into it, enjoying the whatever-it-was swirling about. She touched it, and felt a tug, but not a strong enough one to pull her in. It could be because she barely touched it, or because there were no memories in it. "How neat. How do you use it, though?" Annelise looked up at Remus, as if he had all of the answers. She had the habit of thinking whoever she was with had all of the answers, and most of the time, the person would get a bit annoyed. He, however, seemed to have all the patience in the world with her, and she greatly appreciated it. Word Count: 285 Notes: Sorry, very short I know o.0

"Well, I can't say whether you're dangerous or not. But I don't think you're dangerous to me." Remus smiled a little in silent agreement and sat down in one of the chairs with a sigh. "The tip of the iceberg, maybe, but better than nothing, right?" He smiled and helped himself to a butterbeer as well. "Don't say you can't, you might start believing it," he added with a bit of an enigmatic smile before sipping his butterbeer and wondering why he hardly ever followed his own advice. "A few more lessons and I'm sure you'll be fine." He nodded to himself.
"Oh yes, I nearly forgot about that!" Remus lazily smiled at her enthusiasm and sat up a little straighter, looking at the pensieve with interest. He'd read about them, but never really seen one in real life. "How neat. How do you use it, though?" Remus couldn't help but feel a little proud as she turned to him for answers. "I've never seen a pensieve in real life," Remus admitted. Not only didn't he want one, he also couldn't afford one. He scooted a little closer, examining the pensieve a little closer and running his hands along the runes which he only faintly recognised from his classes in Ancient Runes. "Supposedly, one can store and view memories in it." Remus glanced at Annelise shortly and prodded the contents with his wand briefly. Nothing happened. "I don't know the spell for removing a memory and putting it in there, but from what I've heard, you can even store memories in vials and label them to store them away." He swallowed, searching his mind for other things he'd read about pensieves. Remus had never really given it proper attention, as he wasn't that interested in it as of yet. Of course, it was interesting magic, but he would probably never use it, anyway. "You can relive a memory by touching it while it's in the pensieve, I think. It's not just viewing, you appear in the memory, though you cannot alter anything, you can merely notice things you've not seen before." Remus grew pensive for a moment. "There is probably a way of altering memories, but I think it's pretty complex.."

"The tip of the iceberg, maybe, but better than nothing, right?"
Annelise nodded. She just kind of wished that she could suddenly become one hundred percent better; that she could go into the next Defense Against the Arts class and impress them all. It was completely unrealistic, but she couldn't help but hope. She wasn't even sure if she was learning anything, or if Remus was just making her feel more confident. Would she eventually be able to do magic on the dummie, but only in front of Remus? It seemed childish, for if you could do magic, you should be able to do magic, but it didn't seem like the case. "Yes, it's definitely better than nothing. It really means a lot to me."
Annelise's voice had gotten softer without her meaning to. It was like her words had an alternative motive, and when she heard the tone she was using, she blushed somewhat. What was going on with her? She spent only a few hours in the company of Remus Lupin, and now suddenly she really liked him? It just didn't happen. It didn't work that way. In the five years she had attended Hogwarts, not one boy, none of the ones she had even tried to get to know, made her feel the strange way that she was feeling at that instant with Remus. She felt distracted, and focused on his lips when he spoke. She looked at the clock that suddenly appeared above the fireplace, to discover it was getting late. That must have been the reason for her strange behaviour, right? Fatigue? She tried to listen to what he was saying, but had a hard time. The Pensieve laid forgotten in front of her, and she just looked at him. No, not staring, but looking.
Remus was suddenly looking at her as if expecting a reply. It had to be about the Pensieve, right? It couldn't have been anything that she wouldn't be able to read later. She made a mental note to look up Pensieves. At that moment, all she wanted to do was lean across the table and kiss him, and she knew it was inappropriate. It was completely unlike her. In all honesty, Annelise had never even kissed anyone else before in her life. She never even close to had the urge to. It would be bad if she did, though, and she knew it. Remus was a practical stranger to her - so why was she feeling so close to him? It had to be physical... to her, Remus was good looking. To most girls, he wasn't really. He was poor Remus Lupin, the strange, quiet but smart boy.
"Oh, um, yeah," she said, never feeling girlier before in her life. She hadn't heard a word he had said about the Pensieve. Suddenly, a couch appeared beside the table and chairs, and Annelise went over and sat on it without thinking. She had thought it up so she could lounge more than just sit so sturdily. "We can play around with it next time we're here. It's getting late, and I don't want to mess around with something that we don't have a clear idea on how to use."
She was somewhat lying, somewhat not. She did want to know how to use it correctly, but at the same time, all she wanted to do was talk to Remus more, get to know him better - everything that was irrational and strange considering that they had only truly met a few hours prior. Annelise felt like she was in the wrong, like she wasn't being herself. What kind of skanky girl liked a guy after only a few hours? He could be some sort of creep, maybe there was a reason why she had never seen him around with other girls... but her gut instinct told her that she was wrong, and that he didn't have bad intentions. But sometimes, instincts were wrong. Word Count: 690 Notes: Not sure if this is hard to reply to... I noticed how little dialogue I put in, I'm sorry haha. If she's acting a little OOC, it's because she's tired haha.

Word count: 719 Comments: Hahaha, no worries - Rem lives in his head for 60% of the time, anyway Being a perfectionist at heart, Remus knew how frustrating it was not to be able to do something right. If he could, he'd do everything right the first time, but unfortunately, he couldn't (especially not when it concerned Potions or Magical Creatures). Like every perfectionist, he knew being perfect was unachievable, but (like every perfectionist) he kept trying either way. Still, he was absolutely positive that he'd be able to get Annelise to do magic on the dummy and in front of an audience. Actually, he'd expected her to have more trouble disarming him than an inanimate dummy, and was pondering if it, maybe, would be a good idea to forget about dummies and let her use him as a dummy in stead. "Yes, it's definitely better than nothing. It really means a lot to me." Remus smiled a little, playing with his half-filed bottle of butterbeer absent-mindedly. "You're welcome, I'm happy to help." Remus had a bit of a feeling there was a shift in the situation. The fire seemed just a little warmer, the lights just a little dimmer.. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but it was nice, so who was he to complain? Thinking about it, Remus had no reason to complain at all, being in the company he was. He thought Annelise was really good company, to be honest. He hadn't spend a lot of one-on-one time with a girl before and he'd always expected them to, well.. giggle or talk about shoes and dresses and jewelry and, he didn't know, boys or something? But Annelise didn't. Not that their conversation was like that between Remus and his friends, it was more.. more like the way Remus and Lily talked to each other. Time flew past without him noticing; the last thing on Remus' mind was time, actually, and he hadn't noticed the clock appear, either. He was thinking about the pensieve a little. Maybe he could ask the Room of Requirements for a book? Then again, maybe they'd done enough magic for one night. Besides.. whatever Annelise would like to store in the pensieve would absolutely be private and although Remus would be more than happy to help, he didn't want to push her into it. Remus sighed softly and leant back into his chair a little, just half enjoying the atmosphere and the silence. By now, Peter would've said he was bored, James and Sirius might've destroyed something, but Annelise seemed perfectly fine with the silence. It wasn't uncomfortable at all. He looked up when a couch appeared and as he hadn't really thought about it, he guessed it was Annelise's doing. She got up and walked over to it seemingly without a second thought, so it was probably Annelise's doing, indeed. She sat down and Remus hesitated for a moment - did she intend for him to join her? "We can play around with it next time we're here. It's getting late, and I don't want to mess around with something that we don't have a clear idea on how to use." Still sitting in his own chair, Remus nodded a little. "Yes, I'll try and get some books from the library about it," he said, agreeing, "we wouldn't want you to lose any memories, after all.." Remus wondered if that was even possible. It probably was and they really shouldn't risk that. Suddenly realising that Annelise had just mentioned it was late, he glanced around, spotting the clock. Oh. Had she meant she was tired and wanted to leave? He cleared his throat. "Eh- If you're tired, I can walk you back to the common room, if you want?" It wasn't after curfew yet, but still, Remus added: "Just so you won't get in trouble because I kept you here." What he meant was that he was a Prefect, so she wouldn't be in trouble if she was caught after curfew when she was with him, but as per usual, Remus skipped a few steps in the thinking process, which often made other people lose his train of thought.

Annelise frowned when Remus suggested bringing her back to her common room, for it wasn't what she was implying. She wanted to make it sound like she just wanted to talk, but I guess she came off as sounding like she wanted to leave. However, she decided to go with it, considering it probably wasn't a bad idea to go to bed. She stood up.
"Yes, that'd be nice," she said, smiling. Now that she was properly standing, she realized how tired she really was. "I didn't know you had such power."
Annelise walked over to the door, waiting for him.

"Yes, that'd be nice." Remus smiled back at Annelise as she did, picking up his bag and putting his wand back in his pocket. "I didn't know you had such power." He laughed softly. "I wouldn't call it power." It was just that teachers liked him, despite the mischief that was obviously in him, from time to time, and he was quite sure that if they were to cross a patrolling teacher, they would take his word for it that he had been tutoring Annelise. "I'd feel guilty if I got you into trouble," he simply said, taking the pensieve from off the table and giving it to Annelise before exiting the room with her and quietly walking along the silent corridors.
It was in Remus' habit to walk silently. He was glad to be able to say it was not a wolfish thing, Remus had never been a loud child. Also, he was more than glad that he and his friends had taken up mapping the school, as he was able to walk to the entrance of the Hufflepuff common room by means of the shortest possible route. "Well, this is where I leave you." He smiled a little. "Good night and.. we'll set a time for another session soon?"
