A barn full of beautiful, talented, very expensive horses. Expansive, immaculate grounds and picturesque trails straight out of a Dover catalog. Talented, dedicated trainers with a passion for the sport and the ability to put you in the winner's circle. The glory of placing that ribbon on your horse's bridle, hoisting that trophy high and smiling wide for the camera. It's every little girl's dream.
For the riders of Coventry Hills in Wellington, Florida, it's reality.
Opened by sisters and top A-circuit riders Kaylee and Molly Parker in February of 2006, Coventry Hills quickly established a reputation as one of the finest hunter/jumper barns in Florida. The Parker sisters have trained and shown an array of wonderful horses under the Coventry Hills banner, some their own and some belonging to their clients. The barn's lesson program has cranked out accomplished, successful riders at every level from pony classes to Grand Prix. The ease with which these people, some as young as six, pilot their horses through a course of fences belies the hours and hours of hard work they put into keeping their skills sharp and their mounts in top form. Coventry definitely sets the standard for equestrian excellence.
But Wellington's not all work and no play – far, far from. There's always something to do in the city at almost any hour of the night. Whether you want to have a romantic date at the swankiest restaurant in town, shake your stuff on the dancefloor in the club to be seen at, or just grab a drink with some friends, it's all right at your feet.
And sure, the riders are serious about their showing, but there's always some kind of drama brewing. If you look beneath that veneer of serious equestrianism always on display at the barn, you'll find inner drama queens, hidden vices, scars from the past. Riders certainly aren't as preppy and clean cut as stereotype would have you believe. While they may have everything perfect out on the course, their personal lives are far from idyllic. Rocky relationships, love triangles, one night stands, painful accidents, sabotage – you name it, it's going down. If you're not careful, you could end up the top story in the local gossip blog, though some would probably consider that an honor.
There's only one problem - Kaylee Parker decided to run off and get married. Molly Parker is now running the farm herself while Kaylee is missing in action with her new husband Andy Marks. Nobody ever thought Kaylee would get married, let's be serious, so the farm is kind of in a state of shock. It's kind of a hot mess.
If you think you're ready for it...come to Coventry Hills. COVENTRY HILLS
