Ella sat in the Slytherin Common Room, which had a large amount of people in it, trying to finish up some homework that had been assigned over break. Potions....ugh. She wasn't good with potions, she always put too much or too little. She couldn't get it 'just right.' Sighing, Ella looked down at her very little essay. Most of it was written, regardless of how small it seemed, and only the last few sentences were needed. Ella dipped her quill into the ink bottle, when someone threw something toward her, causing her hand to move to catch it.....in the process, her ink bottle fell over. "Damn it." she muttered, looking at her ruined essay. Of course, that wasn't enough for her, so Ella began to mutter more obscene words than needed, glaring at the first year who through whatever it was.....a shoe it seemed......at her.
Ella sighed took out her wand and mumbled a spell to try and fix her essay, but she only succeeded in tearing the parchment. Screw this. she thought, before standing up and walking out of the common room. Oh, that kid was gonna pay...greatly. The essay was going to remain there.....there was no point in picking it up. Why should she bother cleaning it or taking it? She could get it later, couldn't she? Besides, professors had more things on their minds than giving someone detention for spilling ink.
She decided to walk around Hogsmeade, to vent out her frustration over the small things in the world. There were so many little things that had happened that day, which normally didn't mean anything compared to all the big things in the world...but she was just in a bad mood for various reasons, one of which being the fact that it was very close to her birthday. Besides no one would notice her there, and even if they did so what? Walking along the cobbled street, Ella noticed not many people were there. Maybe it was just the excitement of the year at Hogwarts, or maybe it was the weather....it was pouring outside. When she had first made her way outside, it was only snowing lightly....and now her jeans and red sweater were wet with snow. Thunder was faintly audible in the background.....she needed to get inside. Not even thinking twice about it, the Slytherin walked into the Hog's Head, the building closest to her.
The lack of humidity comforted her, as did the warmth. The slender blonde wrapped her fragile arms around herself, shivering a bit at the rapid change in temperature....maybe a drink was in order, even if it would be too cool. Now, Ella wasn't one to drink, she was more than likely to just order something and stare at it rather than actually drinking it. Alcohol smelled terrible and brought back things she'd rather forget. Ella simply ordered a firewhiskey, as she was almost seventeen and therefore looked legal, before and sitting down at the only empty table left. There seemed to be a group meeting of some sort going on, and most tables were occupied, which was why it didn't surprise her when someone came up to her.
