Daphne was having a good day. She wasn't in a particularly good mood, nor was she in a bad one. It was mostly the weather. Autumn always put her in that inbetween mood. But that was because she absolutely adored summer and despised winter. Fall was that season where the summer was ending, but the last dregs of the warm summer wind still blew through on occasion. It was the season where there was little hint of what was to come other than the leaves falling off the trees and the air starting to get that... feeling. There was just something so sad about the change, yet happy too. It was mixed up and silly and Dee couldn't really make sense of it all. So instead of worrying about that sort of thing, she would simply enjoy what was before her and make the best of days like today.
Today especially the sun was warm, almost hot. And there was very few clouds in the air to conceal the bright, cheerful sun. The blonde girl sat on the steps to the owlry, with a paper bag full of food that she had stolen from the Great Hall during the last meal. She hadn't really felt like socializing-- she had those times. She couldn't be cheerful little Dee all the time, she couldn't make everyone happy. She didn't want to.
The brittled leaves rattled in the trees nearby, and she cast her blue eyed glance around. Not seeing many people around, the girl settled herself into a sitting position on the steps. Setting her bag down next to her, the girl yawned. Not because she was tired, but because she felt relaxed and peaceful. This week had been kind of stressful. She had gone through a few days where focusing during class had proved impossible, so instead of trying to make herself do the work, she had simply blown off a few classes. Sure, that was probably bad. But she honestly didn't care at this point. What were they going to do to her, kick her out? Dee made pretty much perfect grades when she decided to focus, and the family that she came from made her a legacy on both sides. And she was a pureblood. No, a few missed classes wouldn't do anything. But the work that oen had to do in order to catch up on the missed classwork would oftentimes prove to her that it wasn't worth missing the hour, two hour periods of free time.
"Why am I thinking about school. This is the weekend, and this is time to freaking relax." Speaking aloud to herself, the girl pulled a book out of the bag. Muggle literature, actually. Her father wouldn't approve, oh well.
And then the girl immersed herself in the book for a good hour or so, enjoying the feel of the sun on her exposed shoulders. She ended up abandoning the sitting position and laid on her back, with the book held aloft above her head, eyes concentrated on the words. After a few hours of this, she grew tired of reading. If that was even possible. No, she would never tire of reading, she simply grew tired of doing the same thing for long periods of time. Her silly attention span. Sighing, she spoke aloud again. "Alright, someone should come entertain me."
Dee held no qualms towards talking to herself. As a tiny, cute blonde girl, she could pretty much get away with anything.
