"Kaine Gates." He shook the proffered hand, stubbing out his cigarette and adding it to the small pile beside him. He'd take them inside later, when he eventually decided to go back in.
Wow she likes to talk a lot....and I can't even understand half of what she's saying. I'll just nod and agree with thins...keep it simple...
"To be fair, I wasn't actually staring at you he told, fidgeting a bit more to make himself comfy. "I have a girlfriend, and to be honest, you didn't exactly give me much warning that you were gonna stand up in front of me with barely anything on. Bit unfair, wouldn't you say?" Kaine knew it would be sod's law that somehow, it would get back to Addie that he'd been staring at a partially wet and naked girl down by the lake. And he really couldn't be arsed with another argument. Not yet anyway. They hadn't even finished this current one really, not properly.
He started chewing on the strange looking sweet she'd given him. It was surprisingly nice, for something Muggle-made. Nodding in appreciation, he figured he should probably continue the conversation.
"I'm a seventh year Slytherin," he told her. "Also quite nifty on the Charms front. And my cold, hard exterior is part of my charm and appeal, so you're not getting anywhere with that one."
If he couldn't even open up to his own girlfriend, what were the chances he was going to start spewing his thoughts and feelings to a complete stranger? And a female Hufflepuff younger than him at that?!
