It was that time of day again, it was time for lunch and time to eat. Lily had been busy in both the common room and library. She'd been doing homework and studying. She even spent a little bit time to herself just reading. Yes, Lily could never get tired of reading. Eventually, the bell rang which said it was lunch time, so she headed down to the Great Hall. Like everyone else Lily was now extremely hungry.
Lily entered the great hall and made her way to the Gryffindor tables, still reading. She was one of the first few Gryffindors there, most had yet to enter the great hall, so she still had a little bit of time left. Yes, for right now the great hall was almost pretty much empty. When she reached the Gryffindor table, she sat in her usual spot for meals. She then looked up from her book for a second and looked around to see if she knew anyone here yet or not. Nope, for right now she was definitely alone.
After a few more minutes of reading, more people stared to come in and the Great Hall stared to become crowded, so she set her bookmark in her book and put it away in her bag. She'd finish reading later and not when she was so hungry. She probably wouldn't be able to concentrate any longer, at least until she got food anyway. She could already start to hear her stomach growling too.

Silvanus wasn't exactly one to stay hidden away for lunch. Granted, he didn't really get along with many professors, but he did love to eat. He put back the Thestral he was tending to, and made his way back up to the school. When he got in, he carefully washed his hands to remove the dirt from under his nails. As ironic as it was being a Care of Magical Creatures professor, Silvanus absolutely hated to be dirty. He liked to give off a handsome and clean look, not one of a person wallowing in dirt all day. He wasn't the Herbology professor, after all. (And what a terrible job that would be!)
It was a little crowded in certain areas of the Great Hall, but surprisingly, the area in which the Professors usually sat was unusually empty. Therefore, Silvanus found himself wandering between the House tables, making light conversation with the students (particularly Slytherins) and eating off their tables. Of the little amount of Professors there, he didn't really like any of them.
Silvanus decided that staying at the Slytherin table too long may make others think that he was favouring them, so he wandered over to the Ravenclaw table, soon followed by the Gryffindor table. He made the company of practically anyone but the Hufflepuffs. He didn't know why... he just supposed that they were a strange folk to associate with. Despite the fact that he was an adult, Silvanus didn't really care to be seen with the wrong people, even if it were students.
Just as he was making conversation with some blonde Gryffindor boy, his attention was drawn away to the girl sitting a few seats down. Red hair, putting a book away, it couldn't be any student other than Lily Evans. She was always so kind to the animals she tended for when in class. She was smart, vicious... pretty...
Silvanus unintentionally cut off the boy he was talking to in order to make his way over to her. He grabbed an apple that was on the table close to her and smiled at her.
"What's that you're putting away?" Silvanus questioned, nodding in the direction that she put the book. He was sort-of curious. If it had something to do with something he was knowledgeable in, he would have no issue talking with Lily about it. For a sixteen year old, he knew how smart she was, and how easily she could make conversation.
