While creatures retreated:
Black sooty owl named Arrow
To depths unknown:
Pureblood
I hide from them:
Common Room, friends, Hogsemeade, Dark Art’s shops, cemetaries, friend’s houses, with his lady friends, Quidditch Shop in Diagon Alley, Serpent’s Inn
Be who they want to see:
Augustus is six feet tall, with a very fitting muscular physique, his eyes are a hazel color, nearly chocolate when his mood his right. His hair also matches his eyes in a very dark brown color, fitting perfectly with his decently tanned skin complexion. His skin is soft, though through the years his hands have become a little rough, from business handling, and potion accidents. He has a few tattoo’s layering his back, having an interest in studying about Anubis, he has an Egyptian picture of Anubis on the center of his back. Across his heart is the Slytherin symbol, and on his right shoulder, and on all his business men and colleagues, is a symbol of his secret merchant organization (for students like himself) The Rukus Club. It had a snake on it a screaming skull fused on top of the snakes head, and there is a cross made out of a hammer and a wand. He has a few scars throughout his body, on his hands and arms and back from a few contacts that betrayed him. Other then that Augustus wears blues, green, blacks, sometimes white t-shirts and long-sleeved shirts. He is very fond of jackets, so will sometimes be seen with a trench coat or outside jacket.
But that leaves no one:
To discover that inside:
Augustus takes after his father as a business man. He is well mannered, though as everybody sometimes he’ll forget his pleases and thank you’s when he feels like the king of the world. Augustus loves the thrill of the fact that he buys illegal products and sells them, like books that will bite your hand off. He is also a very good potions producer, and maker. In his childhood however, Augustus was scarred by abuse from his father, but he has learned to keep the past buried and therefore he is a very happy, charming, handsome, gentleman who loves to party. He hangs out with a lot of women and admits he is a player and doesn’t mind being one. Secretly he is still trying to find the right girl. It hurts sometimes, to be sixteen and not have someone who wants to be with you in the way of girlfriend/boyfriend-ship. Augustus is a very free willed man, but he is also very persuasive. If he needs to go to a meeting or meet some of his friends he can normally wiggle his way out of a class with little consequence. He loves trouble, as long as he isn’t the cause of it. Augustus is social and forward most of the time, and does pretty much whatever he wants within his own boundaries. Being raised as he was Augustus can appear to be a gentlemen and sometimes will throw on the gentlemen act.
This soulless being:
+ Being a merchant, purchasing illegal items, and selling them in secret
+ Producing potions
+ Dueling
+ Dark Arts
+ Selling
+ Setting up bounties (not really killing, just sending a light message to people who owe him money)
+ Creating organizations
+ Partying
+ Ladies
Is just as lost:
- When his contacts fail to get his bounty or the items he needs
- Being disrespected and underestimated
- Getting caught in his illegality of potion making, selling items he shouldn’t
- Gryffindor’s (depending on their blood and their lokos), half-breeds, muggles.
- Pumpkin Pie with whip cream
As everyone else:
* Stealthly, being sneaky, pickpocketing
* Creating, mixing, brewing potions,
* Charming, a good ally to have
* Persuasive, willing to help others to get out of trouble and out of detention. For a small price of course.
* Being free, not caring what people say about him, being able to do what he wants, not really caring what happens to him. Which as he strength he has faith in himself, and confidence.
In a world that knows only hate:
* Women
* His colleagues. Especially if they come to him in distress
* Takes a lot for granted, has good manners, but forgets his please’s and thank you’s sometimes.
* Money
* Smoking
And causes pain for the soulless like me:
* Is a player, but mainly they are all business propositions or forms of payment
* Has been severely abused in his past.
They left me to die:
Uncle Damaris, mom's brother
On a bed of roses:
N/A
Blood seeping through:
All of the Rookwood's are merchants, but as oppose to what many think, their dealings are illegal
The satin sheets of fame:
Rich
What a bitter story of love:
Augustus Dante Rookwood was born to Casper and Maureen Rookwood in 1958. Both his parents were well respected merchants living in their deceased parents mansion in the Wizarding world. Every Friday or Saturday there would be a party held at the Rookwood’s house. Most of the people that came were powerful Wizarding Families or co-workers and buyers and sellers of his parents Merchant shop. His parents started out as dealing with legal things, but as they say once a Slytherin always a Slytherin. That were supporters of any dark lord that wanted to swoop by and get rid of the muggleborn population, and therefore “artillery” needed to be made. The made exploding potions, to rare poisons to anything. Of course this was all done in secret.
In Augustus’ childhood, his first five years were wonderful. Both of his parents cared for him, loved him, but there was drama going on in the mercenary world and his father (who had always had anger problems) started to drink and eventually became an alcoholic. Things got worse for him. Casper started to abuse his son for simple reasons, like spilling a glass of milk or not getting enough change or putting the change correctly in the money box. Then it turned into he started doing it for fun. Augustus’ mother was so distressed she had no say in it, because she wanted to save her own life.
Augustus went to Hogwarts at the age of eleven in 1971, and turned twelve on January during his first year. Augustus was fascinated by his classes and teachers and found himself making friends very quickly. He had also taken interest (was reading at an early age) In his mother and father’s business of being a merchant and learned all he could until he could become one himself a couple years later. In his third year as a fourteen year old, the abuse skyrocketed and he started coming to school all bruised. Of course Augustus did not want anyone to know, and so he came up with excuses. By then he had already earned his merchant nickname which was Dante, his middle name in the merchant society. He made even more friends and started to earn a nice name in school in a variety of houses. “If you all need help, Augustus Rookwood is the your shoulder, head and mouth.” That was his motto. He was a very nice kid, helped the students, played on the Quidditch team in his third year as the Chaser, but held no interest in playing after that, only watching and keeping with the scores, before he went insane. Homework was massive, but the teachers loved him and sometimes he’d get passes to leave for a while.
He started to be a player, having sex, one night stands with very hot girls that were his age. He found it comforting, because it took his mind off the drama, and sometimes it was the chicks that came to him. In his fourth year at the age fifteen life was hell. His mother and father were under investigation for selling extremely dark objects. His father was convicted of being abusive, and went to Azkaban, but when they found out he had a drinking problem the put him in a two in a half year rehab program, which would be the rest of his jail time or possible parole. His mother got rid of all evidence of the illegal merchant selling and buying and eventually the Rookwood named was cleared, though some still had suspicion, and his mother killed herself, leaving her brother Damaris to take care of Augustus until Augustus reached age.
Augustus was stunned at the situation. He was alone, upset and sad and blamed it on society which made him take up even further being a merchant. His mother left a fortune and a letter for him though. Augustus was okay with his Uncle, though the two males did things their own way. though the playing increased, his reputation increased, and he was becoming one of the most popular boys in school, technically known to “Help Hogwarts Citizens.” Though he was scarred through and through many of his people knew something was wrong, but he never wanted to talk about it. Then he started smoking flavored cigars, but no one paid attention to as why he did so.
And so we come upon fifth year, with a man who is nearly an expert in business, and excited how the couple months of his school year has been going so far. He only really talks to his sooty black owl Arrow about his feelings, and occasionally plays the piano as a stress reliever.
[Getting rid of James for Augustus]
It was a bright sunny morning outside. Augustus had a free period this morning. He slipped out of his bed, stretched his arms up in the air and slipped into his school dress shirt, Slytherin tie and school slacks. He loved the winter, loved the cold. He buttoned up his shirt, and bit his lip, staring at the scars that were along his forearm. He rolled down his sleeves and heaved a light sigh, buttoning his sleeve together. He straightened his tie around his neck, and used his bewitched comb to brush his morning hair back into a neat pile of dark brown locks.
He snatched his Wand Brothers –Wizard metal band- shoulder strap book bag and slung it over his right shoulder so that it looked like it crossed over his athletic chest. He put a smile on his face, though he felt tense and depressed, and ran down the stairs, waving to his friends with a smirk and sprinted out of the common room and to the Great Hall.
The Great Hall was bustling with half the school seated at their tables. Smirking greatly Augustus trotted over to the Ravenclaw table and pecked Kayla Rose on the cheek. –She was his favorite customer and childhood friend- “Hey, babe…” He said in a low charming voice and sat down, signaling for her to sit down. Augustus looked over his shoulders to see if anyone was coming, and he slipped his tan hand into his book bag and pulled out a parcel that was wrapped in a paper bag and handed it to her. “It’s you know what…for you know which.” He whispered to her. She smirked at him, and took his hand with a gasp. ”Dante what happened to your hand…was it a Gryffindork?” Augustus’ merchant name was Dante. He shook his head and sighed, Kayla was manipulative and dark, cruel to the core, but she stuck to him like glue, almost like she cared about him. “No. It’s nothing Kayla, really.” Those scars were from years ago.
“I got to go love, let me know how it works.” He got up quickly, before she could say anything else and went to the ground.
