Be who they want to see:
Rhonnie has a strong build. For a woman she is sturdy, she is thin, but actually has weight on her body that is healthy, and she has obvious muscles within her body and prominent shoulders. With her sharp bone structure and obvious features her appearance is slightly chiseled save for in her face. She has long limbs for being as short as she is and her digits are rather long as well. Her height is just barely 5’4”. She's actually almost a stick. There is very little curve to her body that is noticeable.
Rhonnie has light, and still mostly pale, sun kissed quality to her complexion generally. Her skin is healthy, fairly unblemished save for a breakout here or there and beauty marks. Rhona has large eyes that are wide and rather dark shade of blue. Her hair is brown. Sometimes she even gets variations of shades depending on her time spent outside. Unfortunately for Rhonnie she has natural wave to her hair, not only that, but its thick and can be slightly coarse at times. Her biggest problem with her hair is that it gets frizzy. It reaches just passed her shoulders.
When it comes to her choices about dress, she likes to be comfortable. She likes to wear slacks and sweaters. She loves her sneakers as well. At home Rhonnie is often found in extremely comfortable clothing, she likes to get said comfortable clothing in colors, but still comfortable. At Hogwarts, she abides by the uniform, of course. Luckily enough for her, she generally wears her button ups large, almost hiding some of her frame, and she isn't the type of girl to flaunt her body all the time. When she does dress up or try to dress in a feminine manner it is done with color and she still does her best to stay modest.
Her fingernails are perpetually shorter than is probably necessary, but not only does she break them during Quidditch and other activities, but she also has the horrible habit of biting her fingernails. She’s not much for make-up, when she has to wear it, she just puts on a little bit of eyeliner and powder, then goes. She is lucky for the fact that her eyebrows don’t grow in incredibly thick, so she’s never had to worry about them at all. Rhona doesn’t think she’s pretty so much as plain. She doesn’t find there to be much special about her. Her dimples and slight baby face aren’t all that uncommon to her at all.
But that leaves no one:
To discover that inside:
Rhona is probably one of the most talkative and welcoming people that there could possibly be; when confronted with people she isn't familiar with or doesn't know Rhona has problems speaking up at first. She takes time to warm up to people and show them her shinning personality. She doesn't like being taken out of her comfort zone often, but once she is used to something, she relies on it to an extent. She likes schedules, likes to have things happen on a regular basis and she likes order because it helps her to focus and keep from getting distracted. She just hates doing schoolwork because she has comprehension issues at times with certain subjects. She can pay attention, she just has difficulties because many of the subjects she isn't interested in. She also isn't the best at remembering things; she has to write things down. She is dedicated to Quidditch, though, and it is one thing that she doesn't have a problem sitting down and working on.
Rhonnie is very unlike her siblings, who seems to be perfect and can do no wrong to her parents. She’s always felt as if she’s the awkward one, the one that her parents learned and messed up with. This mentality has caused her to feel as if she just isn't good enough both physically and in every other sense. She strives to be more to make her parents proud of her, but her grades just aren't up to par, she isn't gorgeous and can't get that way, and she doesn't have the way with people that her sister does. Even though she does well in her own way and works extremely hard. She always feels as if she's going to say the wrong thing, or she's going to be awkward. From thinking that for so long, now pretty much anything could come out of her mouth with people that she knows and is around. She's even been known to slip to a professor a few times and then feel foolish. She always feels as if she doesn't measure up to other girls. She always feels as if they're looking at her funny and dislike her.
Rhona hates being judged and she hates being disliked. She generally tries to change that by joking around or blathering on about things. She basically is a good person, though. She cares about her friends and would do anything for them. She isn't the kindest person to everyone, to be honest. She doesn't like new people, but she can't help but stuck up for people that she thinks are like her--it's false bravado and generally she's terrified when she does it, but sometimes it just comes out. She loves animals and shows a great deal of compassion to them.
She tries to be the obedient daughter, but she just hasn't mastered it yet. She gets upset and often times ends up pouting around her family. It's easy for her to feel overshadowed with being the oldest of three, which is why at school and with her friends she's loud and she tries to speak up and be loud enough not to be pushed behind everyone else. This is something that comes into play now with Quidditch; she has chosen to speak up and be loud. Many of her thoughts on the field are barked out so that she’s heard, and even if she second guesses herself she yells and doesn't give herself a chance to worry. She's trying to develop more confidence there. She just wants to fit in and have her group of friends, she doesn't need everyone, but she needs her core group of friends. To add to her need to be a good daughter and make her parents proud, Rhonnie strives for good grades, she stresses out about them because she just doesn't get some things. She has to try extremely hard and work at things from multiple angles, attacking it over and over before she comprehends things generally. She feels stupid sometimes, so generally won't ask questions during class, but has the initiative to get tutors to help her. That is what helps her mainly and how she manages to achieve the way she does. She honestly is not as dumb as she tries to tell herself she is.
Despite all of her hangups, Rhonnie is athletic and she is relatively graceful. She likes hands on learning. Care of Magical Creatures and getting in with the creatures hands on is good for her. Quidditch is good for her. She likes to be active because it clears her head and keeps her mind off of things that she'd rather not think about. She tries to just pretend everything is all right and push it out of her head, too bad it doesn't always work. She still pretends that it does. She is loyal to a fault and she is brave when push comes to shove. Underneath how much she is unsure of things, she has her moments where a happier, healthier and less worried side of her comes out.
This soulless being:
Quidditch (keeper position rocks!), brooms, magical creatures, owls, cats, the color peach, hoodies (jumpers/sweaters), slacks, sneakers, music, turkey, astronomy, socks, pomegranate juice, honey, lemon, sour stuff in general, arguing, laughing, movies (muggle movies), musicals, the cold, people telling stories, coffee, getting positive feedback, wine, peppermint.
Is just as lost:
Math, calculating things, potions, ancient runes, cleaning, homework, being hurt, being sick, being made fun of for her curves, being called short, spicy foods, salty foods, pumpkin juice, allergies, fire, storms, losing matches, people scrutinizing her, her siblings most days, being made fun of, history (because the professors always make history stuff boring), tea.
As everyone else:
Athletic, graceful, quick reflexes, she will seek out help when she knows that she needs it (even if she has to do it when no one will be able to see her), is completely realistic, very obedient, singing (though she doesn’t do this one around people, really, no one that isn’t a close friend), an extremely good listener with her friends, will dedicate herself to cheering up a friend in need, incredibly loyal to her friends and would do basically anything for them, open-minded to just about everything.
In a world that knows only hate:
Not as comfortable with her body--hides it behind clothes and prefers not to expose self, feels inferior, has certain comprehension problems when doing homework sometimes, she's height challenged (at 5'4"), she hates being judged and scrutinized and often times will withdraw or not give someone a chance when she feels as if they are judging her, hates seeing someone getting picked on and will react badly to it, she clams up and generally doesn't speak up until everything has built up and gotten to her when upset, she always compares herself to other girls and sizes them up out of habit, handwriting is horrible.
And causes pain for the soulless like me:
+Rhona is jealous of the Quidditch team captain and really was hoping for the position herself, she actually cried because of it.
+Had a drunken night with a muggle friend who was a girl, has been absolutely mortified since and now avoids the girl and won’t talk to her.
+Wishes that she were more girly and even has a few items of clothing that are extremely feminine that she keeps hidden and never really wears because she’s afraid.
They left me to die:
2 aunts (both spinsters)
On a bed of roses:
2 uncles (3 aunt-in-laws; 1 deceased)
4 cousins (3 female; 1 male)
Blood seeping through:
+Her deceased aunt passed away in a car accident that her husband survived and he was driving.
+Her parents had two miscarriages before her.
The satin sheets of fame:
Working Class
What a bitter story of love:
Rhona was the first born child of her parents, after more than a few attempts. As a baby Rhona required a certain amount of attention. She liked being talked to, liked things that made nose, but she was amused incredibly easy. She had an older sister that always wanted to play with her as well. For Rhonnie it was a great environment. She was well nurtured. Her parents didn't ignore her as a child. Rhona seemed to be one of those kids that took their time, when it came to developing, and waited until the last minute to do things. There was somewhat of a comprehension issue from an early age as well. In fact, her two siblings that followed so quickly after her seemed to catch onto things so quickly.
While Everard and Melania both wanted their kids to be smart and well rounded, they wanted their children to be active as well. They enrolled the girls into sports as children and every night they would sit down and read to the kids, encouraging them to try as well. Her younger sibling started by memorizing the stories and acting as if she was reading them, but soon enough she was reading fluidly. Rhonnie wasn't like them in this aspect. She liked to listen to the stories, but she just wasn't as quick about reading. She was slow and had to sound everything out very slowly. She wasn’t that interested anyway.
Rhona's interests were more in athletic endeavors. She was a great goalie. She loved running around and draining out her energy. It was fun playing with other kids and she was graceful at it. It was obvious from a young age that she was better at sports. She was graceful and a beautiful dancer when they had her try those classes. Her parents were so proud, but they seemed to be more proud of her brother and sister. They were proud of Rhona as well, but she wasn't the best on the team. They had a great life. Rhona showed signs of magic in several instances when she was younger, it always amazed her dad, who was so amazed by magic, being a muggle.
When Rhona Packham received her letter from Hogwarts, she was excited and scared. She didn’t want to fail. There was something that was so appealing to Rhonnie about going to a different school than her brother and sister. Rhonnie got her school supplies and everything that she needed. It was off to school for her, without her sister looming over her. After a small incident with getting onto the platform (her dad freaked out) she was fine.
Rhona was interested in everything magic at first, but she soon realized that she couldn't be good at it all, and she couldn't love it all. She was amazed by everything. It was kind of a surprise to her that she ended up in Gryffindor. It was certainly where she had hoped she could end up because it sounded so wonderful, but she had been sure Hufflepuff was her fate considering the fact that she didn't see herself clearly. It all made her head spin and she was open to all of it. It was quick to figure out that she wasn't great at potions and she had to work hard to be good at the other subjects. While she wasn't the best at the academics, she did take to flying rather quickly. She found that she was good at it. She loved Hogwarts, even if it had taken her time to get used to everything. It was all amazing and she loved it. She had her group of friends, but she was used to being around people in her house and the people that were there in general. Every new class that came in took her time to get used to. She dealt, though and was happy up until both of her siblings were Hogwarts bound too.
The sound of her writing scratching against parchment was beginning to get on her last nerve. If it wasn’t bad enough that her nose was tickling from the usual smell of ancient books and that the lighting was causing her eyes to burn just slightly, it was the sounds. It was hard to handle how quiet it was in the library, but it was better to be quiet than to face the wrath of the librarian. Rhonnie definitely wasn’t going to get herself into any trouble here, not that she would get herself into any trouble anywhere. She was a good girl.
She didn't know how much longer she could stand to sit here in the library of all places. Normally it was one of her favorite places, it was the best place that she could study. She didn’t particularly want to be studying right now, though. She yearned to be outside, but she just knew that if she gave into that urge and went out there she wouldn't accomplish anything what so ever. She would end up basking in the sunlight. It didn't sound too bad right now compared to this homework she was working on. Sometimes Rhona wondered why she pushed herself so hard...then she'd see one of her siblings in the hall or she’d remember just how awkward she was. It was hard being the older sister. IT was hard being so awkward. Rhona had tried to fix it, but it hadn’t really worked too well. Her parents swore they were proud of her. Sometimes Rhonnie wasn't sure she believed them.
Dropping her writing implement the frizzy-headed young woman moved to stretch, arching her back and yawning. She had enough free periods that she should be able to have her homework done in a timely manner. If it weren't for the fact that she had trouble understanding things and had to pour over the material repeatedly before she got it she would have had plenty of time. So far she was okay with what she was working on now, but the confusion tended to sneak up on her. Settling back into her seat and putting her arms on the table in front of her, Rhonnie ran a hand over her face. Not only did she have to finish this, but she wanted to look over an essay that she had already written. She'd get it done, though. She always got it done.
Picking up the writing utensil the small woman went back to work only to be disturbed a moment later, muttering an expletive at the feel of someone prodding her in the shoulder. She practically jumped out of her chair. "Don't do that!" She hissed, looking around guiltily because she'd been so loud. She tried to fight off the blush that was covering her features now as she looked at the intruder on her homework time.
