I SAID HE'S SO SWEET , - - - - - - - - - - make her wanna lick the wrapper Ella sat in the Slytherin Common Room, which had a large amount of people in it, trying to finish up some homework that had been assigned over break. Potions....ugh. She wasn't good with potions, she always put too much or too little. She couldn't get it 'just right.' Sighing, Ella looked down at her very little essay. Most of it was written, regardless of how small it seemed, and only the last few sentences were needed. Ella dipped her quill into the ink bottle, when someone threw something toward her, causing her hand to move to catch it.....in the process, her ink bottle fell over. "Damn it." she muttered, looking at her ruined essay. Of course, that wasn't enough for her, so Ella began to mutter more obscene words than needed, glaring at the first year who through whatever it was.....a shoe it seemed......at her.
Ella sighed took out her wand and mumbled a spell to try and fix her essay, but she only succeeded in tearing the parchment. Screw this. she thought, before standing up and walking out of the common room. Oh, that kid was gonna pay...greatly. The essay was going to remain there.....there was no point in picking it up. Why should she bother cleaning it or taking it? She could get it later, couldn't she? Besides, professors had more things on their minds than giving someone detention for spilling ink.
She decided to walk around Hogsmeade, to vent out her frustration over the small things in the world. There were so many little things that had happened that day, which normally didn't mean anything compared to all the big things in the world...but she was just in a bad mood for various reasons, one of which being the fact that it was very close to her birthday. Besides no one would notice her there, and even if they did so what? Walking along the cobbled street, Ella noticed not many people were there. Maybe it was just the excitement of the year at Hogwarts, or maybe it was the weather....it was pouring outside. When she had first made her way outside, it was only snowing lightly....and now her jeans and red sweater were wet with snow. Thunder was faintly audible in the background.....she needed to get inside. Not even thinking twice about it, the Slytherin walked into the Hog's Head, the building closest to her.
The lack of humidity comforted her, as did the warmth. The slender blonde wrapped her fragile arms around herself, shivering a bit at the rapid change in temperature....maybe a drink was in order, even if it would be too cool. Now, Ella wasn't one to drink, she was more than likely to just order something and stare at it rather than actually drinking it. Alcohol smelled terrible and brought back things she'd rather forget. Ella simply ordered a firewhiskey, as she was almost seventeen and therefore looked legal, before and sitting down at the only empty table left. There seemed to be a group meeting of some sort going on, and most tables were occupied, which was why it didn't surprise her when someone came up to her.

Veronica admittedly found herself very bored being cooped up in the Slytherin girls’ dorm nearly all day. Even though she had been working diligently on her school work, like usual, she had lost interest after she finished her Potions essay for the seventh time. She had gotten it right the first time she wrote it, on the day it was assigned, but then had wanted to make sure she put in everything that she could think of, and eventually she had drafted the thing a few good times. But the copy that she held in her hands was it, it was the final draft, she was sure of it after rereading it two times. She had felt a bit proud of herself. Her last few essays, while they had earned her Os, were not as great as this one. All the sixth year wanted to do now was take a walk around the castle to stretch her legs, and maybe head to the kitchens to reward herself with a tasty beverage.
The brunette didn’t know why she had decided to venture outside, but that’s where her feet had taken her. The snow outside was coming down fast that all she could see before her eyes were white. The girl shivered and was glad that she had thrown on her cloak over her clothes. A little while later, Veronica had found herself down in Hogsmead. She regretted coming here immediately once she realized where she was. ‘At least now I can get those books I wanted’, she reasoned with herself, walking to the nearest bookshop. Veronica had wanted a Potions book that included more advanced Potions then they would be learning at Hogwarts, and a book on the dark arts. She hoped that they had the latter book, and didn’t question why she was buying it.
Roughly thirty minutes later the Slytherin had left the bookstore dissatisfied. They had the Potions book she wanted, but not the dark arts book. She knew she’d probably have to go somewhere in Knockturn Alley to get that book, or ask her parents to get it for her. But, she couldn’t just ask them to send the book. Anyhow, she had purchased another book on the dark arts instead, this one less interesting and informative as she knew the other one would’ve been.
The girl’s hands began to get stiff from the cold air; she had to go in somewhere to warm up before she headed back to the castle or risk the chance of (worst case scenario) freezing to death. Her eyes looked around the nearby shops and she thought about which one she should go in to. Her blue eyes lingered for a bit at Hog’s Head. She wouldn’t mind some firewhiskey; she hadn’t had any since break. She made her choice and headed into the pub.
The placed was packed; so much that the Slytherin had to push pass various people just to get to the counter. “What can I get for you miss,” with that cue, Veronica ordered a firewhiskey. The woman looked at her skeptically, before nodding her head and asking if that was all. She told her it was and then began to look around for a place to sit. Nearly every table was full, except for one. Veronica shrugged and made her way over to the table, and as she drew closer she noticed the girl was also a Hogwarts student and someone in her dorm. She just couldn’t place her name. Ah, well. Veronica plopped down in the seat across from her without asking if she could sit there. “Hello,” she greeted, placing the bag that contained the two books she had purchased on the table.wordcount;619
