What can be found in a name:
Blaire Delilah Babbitt
When the day I was born:
02/08/1960
The Angels screamed:
James Babbitt and Delilah Babbitt (deceased)
And Hell shut its doors:
A pure white cat with blue eyes named Felix
While creatures retreated:
Half-Blood
To depths unknown:
Ravenclaw
I hide from them:
-Girl's Dormitory
-The library
-Under the large oak tree by the lake, given that there aren't many people around of course
Be who they want to see:
Blaire is extraordinarily beautiful, even if it goes unnoticed. She has long, sheek, blonde hair that falls just above her elbows. She has long bangs which she has a nasty habit of hiding her eyes behind; one a brilliant ice blue, the other splattered with chocolate brown. Beneath her brown eye she has a small crescent scar, that is almost undetectable. She never bothers with make up, not that she needs it, but she really could care less. Her skin is a perfect blend of creme and roses. And her heart shape lips are a natural shade of a sweet, deep pink. She has a small frame standing at only 5' 3", and weighing a healthy 120 pounds. She is small and graceful which helps her on the quidditch pitch. She has a very nice figure, not that you could notice beneath her school robes. She is very unlike the other girls in her year, many of which wear their robes as tight as possible, and can not wait to get out into their normal clothes on the weekends in which they reveal even more. Blaire on the other hand is quite content in hiding beneath the fabric of her school robes, and when she is not, her own wardrobe consists of fitted pants, knee length skirts, and simple, fitted tees. All of her clothes are unadorned and neutral colors. Blaire likes to avoid attention if she can manage it.
But that leaves no one:
To discover that inside:
Blaire is quite unlike the rest of the girls in her year. She does not pine over boys (she has yet to have a boyfriend or been kissed), although occasionally she notices from afar, she isn’t obsessed with her appearance or with doing her hair and make-up. In fact, doesn’t even own any make-up. She simply does her schoolwork, reads her books, and writes in her journal.
Blaire is a reserved… you could even go as far as saying she is painfully shy, although she is not opposed to conversation. It is extremely unlikely, however, that she will be the one to engage the conversation. She is actually an incredibly sweet girl, if maybe a little sheltered, but seeing as she does not initiate conversation, and she is usually hidden behind a book or her hair and is passed over by most people, this goes unnoticed. She prefers it this way, for she hates any form of attention or spotlight. She does has a small circle of friends from her dormitory (although she is still not particularly social even with them) and she is completely content with them. She feels that she has everything that she needs and any form of extra attention other than her small little world, is unnecessary and uncomfortable. When she is spoken to, she avoids eye contact, partly out of shyness, and partly out of the intent stares her mismatched eyes bring about.
This soulless being:
Writing
Novels
Quidditch
Her father
Felix, her cat
Is just as lost:
Attention
Stares
Most Slytherins
Rudeness
Bullies
As everyone else:
Her intelligence
Her faith
Her work rate
Her kind nature
Charms
In a world that knows only hate:
Her shyness
Her sometime ignorant ways
Her lack of a best friend
Divination
History of Magic
And causes pain for the soulless like me:
Her mother's death and her mismatched eyes have always brought upon the occasional whisper and stare and it's not that she is opposed to telling anyone but she has never been close enough to anyone that she felt she should share, and no one has ever bothered to ask.
They left me to die:
Grandparents both deceased
On a bed of roses:
Grandmother
Blood seeping through:
none...if you do no count the incident...
The satin sheets of fame:
Well off
What a bitter story of love:
Despite her quiet ways and her shy personality, Blaire grew up in a very peculiar home. Her mother and father were always brewing up some experimental potion, or coming up with new charms and spells. They were what you might have called eccentric, but they were always happy. The three of them lived in a perfect happy world in their little crazy house.
When Blaire was 11, she left for Hogwarts. To her parents' delgiht she was placed in Ravenclaw, where she thrived. She always did excellently in all her classes, which was due to her profuse amount of time studying. If she wasn't studying she was either reading or writing stories. She never was very social. She only had a small group of friends that were in her classes, and on the quidditch team. And even with them, she was never particularly social. In short she was a sweet, shy girl who liked to keep mostly to herself.
Blaire developed into breath-takingly beautiful young woman. But as she always hid behind her books, and hated any form of attention, this went unnoticed.
Blaire went home after her fourth year at Hogwarts, and spent it like any other summer, with her parents. One evening her mother was doing experimental spells, and one back fired, killing her mother and knocking Blaire to the ground. The next time she opened her eyes, one of her perfect ice-blue eyes and been splattered with brown.
The death of her mother had not been unbearable. She missed her dearly, but she knew she was going to be reunited with her one day, so Blaire and her father carried on in their little world, becoming closer than ever. When she returned to Hogwarts some whispers arose about her eyes, and a few strange rumors began to circulate, but mostly people were not sure who "that girl, Blaire Babbitt, the one who's eye is cursed!" was. The few rumors and stares that did occur made Blaire become even more closed off than before and she began to hide her eyes behind her long bangs, becoming even shyer than she was before the accident.
Blaire opened her eyes, and looked around at the silent room. All of her roomates were still in a deep sleep, and she could even hear a few snoring. She looked out the window and watched as the sky filled with brilliant deep purples. "God intended people to rise with the sun!" She imagined her quirky father chanting at the crack of dawn. She had been preached this 1000 times, and her internal clock followed her father's rule unfailingly.
She ran a hand through her long hair, put on a pair of slippers and patted her sleeping, spoiled cat, Felix, before tip-toeing out the door. She entered the Hogwarts corridor and breathed in the magic of the walls with a smile on her face. There was something enchanting about the halls of Hogwarts when you had them all to yourself. She walked through empty corridors almost giddily. This was her favorite part of the day. As she passed a window she saw that the sky had began to lighten, and she picked up her pace, running towards the astronomy tower. She ran up the steps and threw the door open just as the sun peeked over the tree line. She grinned and soaked in the rest of the sunrise.
She lingered on the tower for a while, but then decided it was best to return to the common room while she still had the halls to herself. She took off down the stairs and to her surprise, walked square into a boy who looked to be about her age. She felt the color quickly rise to her cheeks, and she immediately swung her long bangs in front of her eyes as a shield. The boy muttered a sleepy apology, and Blaire peeked out at him from beneath her hair. It was obvious that he was not as accustomed to being up this early as she was. Small bags circled is eyes, and on his head sat a messy mop of hair. "My bad," she managed to mumble back. She couldn't help notice that he was attractive, and thought perhaps she might ask him his name. His features suddenly changed to one of interest though and she saw his head tilt and his eyes study her mismatched ones. She quickly reverted his gaze, and awkwardly waved goodbye before taking back off down the stairs. On her way back she forgot about the magic of Hogwarts, but focused on getting to her destination before the morning crowd came.
