While creatures retreated:

To depths unknown:

I hide from them:
Library! The common room. And I've grown very fond of the lake over the years spent here.
Be who they want to see:

Hair colour: Warm auburn
Body Build: Petite!
Scars: none...
Tattoos: None!
Piercings: just my ears.
Anything else: ehhh.....no?
But that leaves no one:
To discover that inside:
Alice, is in a word, charming. And she can tell you about a zillion charms for different things too. Keeping her nose in the crook of a book half her life she's acquired quite a full knowledge of things for herself. There is no doubt that she will be passing her exams with flying colours. So long as herbology isn't one of the things she's judged on. Miss Hallows isn't exactly shy or quiet, but she isn't the loudest person in the group either. I suppose you could call her... appropriately sociable. She's a very caring person and wears her heart on her sleeve. Alice isn't exactly one to show that she's very afraid. Unless she's really terrified. She's strong and confident, and doesn't let much phase her. However, she is easily stressed and intimidated. Unlike most girls her age she's actually fairly level headed instead of being high strung or hormonal. Alice never really saw the point in fussing over things that didn't matter as a young student. And as a result, missed out on getting to know EVERYONE they attend classes with. However she's become a friend of those she herself find important and to her, that's all that matters.
This soulless being:
Books
Spring time
Frank..ehh.. lets keep that quiet.
Animals!!
Droobles Best Blowing gum
Is just as lost:
Rude people
People with a disregard for the rule.
chocolate frogs
failing a class.
Herbology.
As everyone else:
Charms!! Is super good
Quick witted
fast learner
Makes friends easily, if determined.
Great at keeping secrets.
In a world that knows only hate:
Sometimes can't see passed the end of her own nose.
Can be over confident.
Easily angered if she can't figure something out.
Not good at talking to crushes....ugh
Stresses easily.
And causes pain for the soulless like me:
Has a Crush on Frank....
Deep down terrified of leaving the safety of Hogwarts.
They left me to die:
Edgar and Felicity Bates
On a bed of roses:
Declan and Charlott Hallows
Blood seeping through:
"I'm not really sure we have one.. though I do know my parents are hell bent on finding me a proper husband. How old fashion they are. They don't even take sides on this mess our world is in. Switzerland. They'd rather be Swedish."
The satin sheets of fame:
Well off.. not rich.. not poor..
What a bitter story of love:
Alice grew up in a respectable town with a respectable family. As two only children themselves, Rupert and Sara decided only to have once child. It was a very drab and bland plan they'd made. Safe really. Mr. and Mrs. Hallows made very well sure they never got their noses dirty. Their beautiful little girl would grow up, marry someone only slightly wealthier than themselves, and work in a quiet office, much like the ones they worked in every day of their bland little lives.
But Alice had other plans. As she grew older, Alice, all though playing with herself, had plenty of friends. Albeit imaginary, they were still friends to her. She spent many hours out side pretending that the birds all sang in a chorus with her and that the cat next door loved exactly the same amount of sugar in his tea as little Miss Alice! Apart from her little colorful life outside from the house, Alice filled her time reading. Once the lights in the street lamps outside came on Alice had to come indoors. But she didn't much like in there for her parents never listened to music and didn't read the paper. They typically only read how to guides. So naturally Alice followed suit. By the age of nine she was perfectly capable of rewiring the radio and fixing the furnace. She'd also spent all days that rained reading her mothers old charms text books.
Alice couldn't wait to go to Hogwarts. Her parents told her it was nothing special and that they would be perfectly happy if Alice kept all average letter grades. That just wouldn't do for Alice. Being a witch meant her life was not entirely gray. That the idea of a chorus of birds or tea drinking cats was not entirely absurd. And it felt all to entirely good to at least grasp a concept of charms two years ahead of her level.
It became her favorite subject and she naturally excelled every year. Herbology however...was her worst. No matter what she did, Alice could not figure out the concept of photosynthesis or anything of the sort. And though the idea of a hippo who danced ballet was no questionable matter in her mind, but daffodil's that could catch a cold? That was impossible.
Alice spent a great deal of time her first four years in the Library. The rows and rows of books were comforting to her. Studying and reading and studying. And going to class. Alice was very proud of how well she'd done for herself academically. But as she reached her fifth year she realized, absorbing herself in her education had indeed made her a gray person. Simply a very smart gray person. So she swapped library time for lake time in hopes that she'd make friends. And so she did. James Potter, though a hooligan and a dismisser of the rules, actually had become a fair acquaintance. Though it was not he who really caught her eye. It was Frank Longbottom. He was so....Frank. And Alice was infatuated. But it dissolved when she couldn't muster the courage to speak to him. For the next two years Alice spoke up more, socialized more as she found this to be rather important, and let her studies come to her like a normal student did, instead of chasing down teachers for next weeks homework. However her determination and eventually her growing social life gained her the title Head Girl. It's what she'll do with all this that will shape the rest of her life.
(I wasn't sure if she still was head girl. It says she is on your list of heads and prefects. So I went with it LOL)
Ahhh spring. The quiet sensation of the sun peering in from the window and onto Alice's cheeks was just enough to make her slowly crack one eye open. "Really? Do I have to be so ...ehh responsible?" The thought of taking a day off and laying in bed crossed her mind. But that, she knew quite well would get her nothing and no where. Unless of course she was sent to the hospital wing due to bed sores. Ehhh.. The image of her bent at the waist and rubbing her aching back made her groan. Then she wondered. Maybe bed sores were an actual sore. Like a pussy or scabby disgusting sore on the pin pointed spots where the mattress was unforgiving to your spine. This wandering thought made Alice very eager now to get up anf get going. She did not know what exactly a bed sore was because she'd never stayed in bed long enough to find out. And she didn't intend to either.
Jumping out, excited now to get a start on her day, Alice dressed quickly and threw her book bag over her shoulder. Turning to the mirror beside her bed she looped a hair bow around her head and tied it at the nape of her neck. "My my Miss Alice, don't you look smart? And likable at that!" She smiled and nodded to her reflection once before turning on her heal and taking off out the door. The common room was still quiet. Not quiet everyone was as punctual as she was and Alice had accepted that. But the sun was well for the sake of Merlin's pants!!! She shook her head and went to the bulletin board by the entrance. Ahh there it was, her task list for the day. A little file she got every morning with an update on anything Head girl related. Nodding she checked to be sure nothing else looked out of order in the room before she briskly walked out into the hallways of their beloved school.
The stairs cooperated with her, for once, and she had made it down to the Great Hall in no time. Except... There had been a group of fourth year boys sleeping against a wall, half eaten egg on their robes. Alice had politely stirred them from their nap, brushed off their clothes and gave them each a piece of gum as she sent them on their way. The Great Hall was just beginning to pick up with the normal early risers. The Lestrange boys in the corner, they wouldn't miss any time to be seen looking fierce and mean. A few over achieving girls from Hufflepuff were there. Of course her fellow student officer and the prefects from...most of the houses. Frank obviously was sleeping in today. And.. ahh.. Remus Lupin. Walking over with a smile, Alice set her book bag down and took up a seat in front of him as she usually did. "Morning Remus!" She scooped up a copy of the prophet and let the pages fall open. "Any thing good in here today? Or is it all bad news again?" She looked soberly at the headlines. One didn't seem too bad. not for society at least. It seemed that an entire stock of Gretchen Morlin's Elusive guide to aversion and avoidance, had gone unexplainable missing. "Well... that's unfortunate." Unless of course they had an abundance of Terry North's book, The site for sore eyes: how to find what cannot be found. Surely this could be one interesting day in the life of Miss Alice Hallows.
