Okay so maybe standing by the lake hadn't exactly been Mai's best ever idea, after all, she knew how clumsy she was and how she was very accident prone, so when some third year boys had decided to have a race around the lake on their brooms and one of them had ended up knocking her into the water, she really shouldn't have been very surprised, but of course she was, and now she was going through the castle, soaking wet and having to use the corridors that very few people went through, to make sure she didn't run into the caretaker Filch who would most likely go mad over the fact that she was dripping water all over the floors. "Stupid third years." Mai muttered irritably as she walked, her arms folded over her chest grumpily. "Don't even know how to dodge somebody when flying, bloody idiots." She ran her hands through her soaking wet curls, pulling them into a ponytail so that they would stop falling into her eyes. She continued walking, not really paying attention to where she was going, when she turned a corner and tripped over something, letting out a scream of surprise. Mai groaned, landing on top of something soft, she looked down to see what she was lying on, only for her eyes to widen as she realized it wasn't a something, it was a someone. Sirius Black to be precise. Suddenly the girl was all too away of how her soaking wet shirt had gone quite see through and was clinging to her. Her cheeks flushed bright red and she looked at him. "Oh my God, I am so sorry! I'm such a clutz, I really didn't mean to do that, I am so sorry!" She stammered, her words quick and rushed. Shut up, shut up, shut up! She told herself mentally. Stop babbling like an idiot! Oh God, why do I have to be so clumsy, why did it have to be him of all people that I fall on top of? Is my life not horrible enough, that I have to add to it by falling on top of the guy I like while soaking wet with a see through shirt on!Outfit: www.polyvore.com/mai_uniform/set?id=18974499Word Count: 380 Tags: Sirius

Class ended, and Sirius was pretty much the first out of his chair. He left with his friends, but they didn't stay together for very long. James and Peter had a detention to go to, and Remus claimed he had some studying to do. All Sirius could think of was that Remus was helping some random broad again. It seemed to be a trend. However, as Sirius walked down one of the corridors, he realized he had nothing to do, and really no one to go to. So, he leaned up against a cold stone wall with his arms crossed. When the halls empties out somewhat, he decided to lay on the floor. Random? Yes. But at least he'd no doubt get someone's attention. In fact, he realized as he lay there, he would no doubt get in trouble as well. Trouble seemed to follow him around. Apparently when you were a renowned prankster and problem-causing extraordinaire, people kept an eye out for you.
Sirius laid back with his hands behind his head and his ankles crossed, casually. It didn't take long for something to happen, however. He felt a kick against one of his shoes, and then something came crashing down on him. When he opened his grey eyes and looked down, he saw a mass of dark hair all over his face. So, it was a girl. Question in his mind was: did she fall on him accidentally, or on purpose? Sirius knew girls did the silliest things to get noticed. She pulled herself up, but not off of him. Anyone passing would clearly think something scandalous was going on. The first thing Sirius managed to glance a look at was her clearly see-through shirt. If it wasn't for the fact she was wearing a bra, he would have gotten quite the site. He could also feel the moisture dripping from her and onto him.
Sirius listened as she rambled, and then chuckled a little bit to perhaps make her feel a little less awkward. He grabbed her by the sides of her arms and helped her and himself up. His own white uniform top was now somewhat see-through, but it didn't bother him as much as it appeared to be bothering her. Sirius removed the school cardigan he was wearing and slung it over the girl's shoulders. He didn't want to do it, but at the same time, she looked wet, cold and rather miserable.
"It's alright," he said, shrugging his shoulders. "I guess it's my fault for laying in the middle of the corridor like that." Sirius smiled at her again, exposing his teeth in the way that typically made girls melt. He continued with, "Why are you soaking wet anyways?"
Sirius was truly curious. It wasn't common for someone to be dressed head to toe in uniform and be soaked. He glanced by a nearby window to see that it wasn't raining, and snow wouldn't be enough to make her look that wet. He looked at her face, trying to recognize who she was. He definitely recognized her, for it was hard not to with someone in your year and grade, but at the same time, no name was coming to the face. He was sincerely hoping she wasn't expecting him to know who she was.

Mai blushed bright red as he helped her up. "Thank you." She murmured softly, then blushed even harder as he put his jumper over her shoulders. She gave him a nervous smile, her hair taking on a red tint in her embarrassment. Bloody Metamorphmagus hair, it blushes more than my bloody cheeks do. She sighed mentally, glad that the change in her hair color was much more subtle that if she had inherited more of her mothers ability, like her brother, who's hair turned flaming red when he was angry and went completely raven black when he got mad.
"It's alright," he said, shrugging his shoulders, those strong, muscular shoulders....Ah! Bad thoughts, bad thoughts! "I guess it's my fault for laying in the middle of the corridor like that." Mai barely suppressed a dreamy sigh when he gave her that smile, that jaw droppingly gorgeous smile that made her want to throw her arms around his neck and press her lips against his as he held her up against the wall and....God Damn it, why are my thoughts so bloody perverted today!
"Why are you soaking wet anyways?" She sighed at this question, her eyes becoming a slightly lighter shade of brown due to her exasperation. "Some idiot on a broom knocked me into the lake." She told him, looking just above his head to stop herself staring into his gorgeous grey eyes that made her feel like she was melting into a puddle. Oh Merlin, why did she have to fall for him, why did the universe hate her so much that it only ever made her attracted to guys who were either a) taken, b) Complete and utter assholes, c) Unattainable, d) So jaw droppingly gorgeous that any time she tried to talk to them, her mouth always disobeyed her brain or e) Players.
Sirius was a mixture of options c, d and e. He was unattainable because it was common knowledge that he didn't date, and if he ever did, the girl rarely lasted more than a week or so. The part about him being gorgeous, was obvious, as well, he was Sirius Black and any girl who wasn't attracted to him was either completely bonkers or batted for the other team. And as for the player part, well that spoke for itself, Sirius Black was a ladies man, this was a well known fact throughout the school and Mai wouldn't degrade herself by ending up as one of his one night stands, no matter how good he looked in a wet shirt. And damn did he look good.
"I'm Mai, by the way." She told him, not expecting him to know her name, despite the fact that she was in every single one of his classes. "We were potions partners last year." And you spent the entire time ignoring me and flirting with that slag in hufflepuff. She added mentally

Sirius couldn't help but smile every time the girl blushed. He liked to have that effect on people, and besides, the girl was cute. It just added to the effect. Sirius wasn't someone to notice small details, so he didn't notice the subtle chance in her hair or eye colour. It was a fault of his - many girls told him off for not noticing when they got a hair cut, or when they did something else of the like. It wasn't just Sirius, though, it was most guys really. How many times had he heard one of his mates complain that they got told off for not noticing something about a girl? Sirius just always seemed to get a lot of the trouble because they wanted him to notice more than anyone else.
Sirius chuckled about her story. "It wasn't James, was it?" he asked, jokingly. He shook his head in a disapproving manner. "I guess kids will be kids. Probably he as just trying to get your attention. Care to head back to the Gryffindor common room so we can get changed out of our wet clothes?"
Sirus hadn't realized the insinuation he had made until after he had said it. He just smiled to himself, and decided to not apologize, or clear up what he had meant. He doubted that she was stupid. She would no doubt understand what he had meant, although he wouldn't say no to what the insinuation meant either. Hey, Sirius was a guy after all.
"Mai! That's it!" he exclaimed as if her name had been at the tip of his tongue. When she told him that they had been partners in Potions last year, he couldn't remember doing that at all. All he could remember was some pretty Hufflepuff girl. Hadn't he been partners with the Hufflepuff girl? Sirius didn't let it show on his face that he couldn't remember. "I remember we were partners. You just have such a unique name... it just didn't come to mind immediately."
Was he lying? Yes, a little bit. He wasn't competely guilty, though, he had recognized her. It wasn't like he was completely ignorant all of the time. He was hoping she wasn't about to ask specific things he remembered about them being in Potions together last year. If so, the conversation would no doubt go downhill from there.

"It wasn't James, was it?" She smiled shyly. "No, it wasn't Potter, he unlike the idiot that did knock into me, can actually fly on a broom properly." Mai barely noticed that she called him Potter instead of James. She shared a dorm with Lily Evans after all and when you heard someone being referred to by their last name on a daily basis, it ended up getting stuck in your head "I guess kids will be kids. Probably he as just trying to get your attention." She blushed a little more. "Doubtful, there aren't many people who want to catch my attention."
"Care to head back to the Gryffindor common room so we can get changed out of our wet clothes?" Her cheeks burned bright red as the very perverted part of her mind (Which always sounded a lot like her friend Diana) pointed out the double meaning that those words could have. "Sounds like a good idea." She replied, giving him a small smile. Whichever way you meant it...No! No,I am not a slag! I WILL control myself, he's just a guy, a tall, sexy, gorgeous, funny, amazing, charming..... what was my point again?
Mai shook these thoughts away, wishing she had some kind of control over what her mind came up with, it was like there were several people living in her head, they quiet bookish Mai that loved Lewis Carrol and sketching, the loud, happy Mai that loved Jack Daniels, Firewhiskey and vodka, the angry snappy Mai, that had a sarcastic comeback to everything and shouted swear words every now and again, the sad depressed Mai that liked to lie on her bed and listen to the more depressing Beatles songs like 'Eleanor Rigby' and look through old photos, and the absolutely perverted and boy crazy Mai, who liked to join forces with Loud happy Mai and get drunk and wake up in bed next to someone she didn't know.
"Mai! That's it! I remember we were partners. You just have such a unique name... it just didn't come to mind immediately." Mai raised an eyebrow, smirking just a little bit. "Yeah, right." She said unconvinced, as the entire time they had worked together he had only spoken to her a handful of times and each of these times he had either called her Michelle or Mary. She didn't really care though, nobody in this school seemed to notice her really, and it was rare that anyone ever remembered her name.

Sirius laughed a little bit at her comment about James. "Yeah, but I could still imagine him doing it for laughs. Besides, whoever it was just probably noticed your white shirt and took the opportunity." Sirius as well didn't notice that Mai had called James 'Potter.' In fact, he was quite used to it, along with people calling him Black. Even if someone liked the two of them, it was habit for many to call out their last names when they were being mischievious ... which was all of the time. Besides, she didn't say James' name in an exasperated way, either, which would have drawn his attention. "Why not? You're far from ugly, and you're not a Slytherin. I'm sure people go trying for your attention all the time - you just don't notice."
Sirius wasn't even just being nice either. He was aware of the fact that many girls never actually paid attention to the boys who did pay attention to them ... they were always just trying to get the attention of the boys who weren't giving it to them. He was sure it was the same in this case. Mai was very pretty, so he was sure that she was seeking the attention of someone else. No doubt she had some best guy friend who was crazy about her that she just couldn't see.
Mai agreed to head back to the Gryffindor common room together, so he set off with her at his side. She was dripping water rather heavily, and knew his cardigan would no doubt be soaked as well. He didn't really care. He knew a simple drying spell that would fix that in no time. He was merely wet, not soaked, so he wasn't causing the same chaos for the cleaners as she was. However, it was rather uncomfortable, so he decided to just discard his shirt. He pulled it off and rested it over his shoulder casually. He hadn't even thought about it, and he hadn't done it for Mai's attention. He would just rather walk through the corridors topless and be comfortable with the risk of being told off by a professor than have to feel like his shirt was sticking to him.
She sounded quite sarcastic when she replied. He laughed lightly. "You don't believe me, do you?" he asked, his voice still quite casual. "I'm rather insulted!" he exclaimed with a voice of mock-hurt. Sirius eyed her, trying to gauge her reaction. He wasn't sure if she was interested in him in that way. It always took him a little while. A few times his mates had to tell him girls were interested. Yes, Sirius got used to having crushes on him, but at the same time he could also be equally oblivious.

"Yeah, but I could still imagine him doing it for laughs. Besides, whoever it was just probably noticed your white shirt and took the opportunity." Mai blushed again, pulling the cardigan tighter around herself in an attempt to try and cover the parts of her shirt where you could see her bra, which wasn't very hard to do as Sirius' jumper was huge on her, due to her tiny frame, it nearly reached as far as the hem of her skirt, which admittedly was quite a bit shorter than Mai would ever let anyone in her family see, as her male relations would probably send her to a convent as punishment for daring to wear anything that could possibly draw attention from anyone of the opposite sex, that was one problem with coming from such a big family, every guy she was related to was extremely overprotective of her,but she happened to like her legs, they, along with her eyes were he favorite things about her appearance.
"Why not? You're far from ugly, and you're not a Slytherin. I'm sure people go trying for your attention all the time - you just don't notice." "That's n0t the problem really, the problem is that the wrong guys are trying to get my attention." She told him honestly. It was true. The people who liked her tended to go the same way the people she liked did. They were either total jerks or someone who shouldn't like her at all. Such as guys with girlfriends, who seemed drawn to her like a moth to a flame. Especially guys who were dating her friends, which caused most of the girls she had once been good friends with to call her a slag.
Her eyes ran over his body unwillingly as he took off his shirt. Oh My God. She thought, swallowing nervously. He's a bloody Greek God or something. He has to be. No normal human being could have a body that good. Her mouth became suddenly dry and she looked down blushing, tearing her eyes off of his chest. Crap. He probably saw me looking, now he thinks I'm some kind of perverted weirdo.
"You don't believe me, do you? I'm rather insulted!"Mai smiled, still not daring to look up from her feet, for fear she would once again become distracted by his lack of clothing. "Oh yes, I'm so sure, it wouldn't surprise me if you broke down into tears right here." She teased, her words dripping with sarcasm, a trait that her grandfather liked to joke, ran through the women of her family as she was pretty sure there wasn't a female that was somehow related to her that didn't tend to use a lot of sarcasm.
