Be who they want to see:
Kira has a slight oriental face and chestnut brown eyes. Her hair is very fine and reaches mid-way down her back. Her hair is straight and also brown, like her eyes. Kira does have bangs that fall to the side of her face, framing it in a way. Kira is five feet and four. She does not think she's very tall, but at least she is not shorter then that. She weighs one-hundred and fourteen pounds, though her weight changes every now and again like most people. Her skin is neither really pale nor really tan. She can be found outside in the sun, but usually she seeks out a shady spot to sit in unless she's a bit cold.
She often feels no need to wear make up, but will do so rarely. When Kira does wear make-up she normally goes with the natural look, nothing too extravagant. She will often put on the softer colors as opposed to the more vibrant colors. Her hair is usually kept in a half ponytail, so that longer strands won't fly in her face but her hair will still hang down. However, she can also be found with various other hairstyles, next often being a low ponytail. She has also done a high ponytail, a loose bun with chopsticks, and on extremely rare occasions pigtails. Her bangs, though being too short to be held by any of her hair styles, often just hang down the sides of her face no matter what she does.
Kira is one who likes the darker colors. Her normal colors are black, purple, silver, dark greens, and red. She will occasionally wear blue, white, and brown, but rarely pink and never yellow. Her favored colors are silver and black, which she can often be seen in even out of school uniform. Aside from the colors, her style of clothing are usually pants with a no-sleeve shirt. She could still be seen with other different types of shirts, such as short-sleeved or long-sleeved shirts. She does not usually wear patterned clothing, mostly just solids, though occasionally a few patterns get by. Her preferred footwear are a pair of black boots or a comfortable pair of running shoes, though she does have heels.
She does have some random scars on her hands and occasionally her legs. Mostly it was from the roughhousing she would do as a child or just things she now deemed stupid, such as picking up a stray kitten by the scruff or it's neck only to have it claw her hand in several places. Many of the scars have healed up by now and softened since her childhood days, though she gets new ones every now and again as the old ones heal over and become softer with time.
But that leaves no one:
To discover that inside:
Kira is normally a quiet person and a deep thinker. Her time alone has allowed her time to think and read about various things. She is intelligent and sometimes a bit wise for her age. However, she has a slight lack of socialization skills so she does not like to be in large crowds or even around most people. She has gained a little more socialization from being at Hogwarts and around the other people in her classes and house, but she is still far from perfect in that area of her personality.
Kira has a lot of patience, but if someone annoys her greatly her patience will begin to run thin. At some point she could snap and lash out at the origin of the annoyance, but it would take a great deal for that to happen. She has a wonderful imagination, encouraged by her art and writing skills that she developed when she was younger. She doesn't do well in history, as she believes it is all in the past and so all you really need to remember is what to learn, not the facts itself, though reading the facts for yourself would be good to do. She doesn't have a good memory about past events, which is why she doesn't like history.
Kira has a somewhat mean sense of humor sometimes, though she does not usually mean it to be that way. Her sense of humor isn't often brought out unless with friends, and the mean and sarcastic side of it would, of course, be brought out by people she finds annoying. She does well with animals probably because she finds their company better then most people she knows. This does not include wild and untamed animals though as they tend to run away from her, or in some cases try to attack her. She loves to listen to music and sing, though she doesn't believe she has a good voice for singing. However she usually looks down upon herself sometimes, probably due to very little encouragement from her grandparents, so what she believes and what is really true about herself can differ more so than not.
Kira seems shy or inattentive, whichever way someone would describe her when meeting her, with people she doesn't know. Mostly she just does not really like talking to people. She does tends to open up a little if she knows the person. However, not many people, even her friends, know even half of her secrets. She is very secretive, though she does not necessarily show that she is. When she speaks about herself her words are careful and very cryptic, though some may not really notice unless they talk to her for a long period of time. Its hard for her to fully trust anyone and fully give her trust. If her trust is betrayed she may forgive, but she will never forget. If someone earns her loyalty, which she believes is very unlikely to happen, she would be very loyal to them.

As everyone else:
Kira is very secretive in most of her thoughts. She has always kept to herself and by doing so has less risk of leaving herself open for others. Keeping to herself and her secretive nature has helped her to hide from people in her expressions, though her body language would often speak louder. Still, she would like to think that being able to keep her feelings from her face would help in making those people who were annoying or overly hyper away from her.
With keeping to herself comes boredom, and with boredom comes the need to do something. When Kira is bored she tends just to watch people as they interact with others. This has helped her to be able to read other people's emotions based on their own body language and facial expressions. With her usually quiet nature she has a tendency to be able to pick up on such things, especially if people wear their feelings right out on their sleeves.
Being able to pick up on other people's feelings through body language and facial expressions is something that most people can do unconsciously. It is through observation that Kira is able to accomplish this with a bit more accuracy than normal. She only shows this ability when actually conversing with someone though, so it is not immediately apparent. She prefers to observe rather than act which has given her knowledge.
Kira also has strong artistic abilities. She is able to capture scenery, things, animals, and people in drawings and paintings really well and often uses her talents as an emotional outlet. Since she is not as emotional as some of her peers this is a good way to express herself, keep stress away, and also helping her to keep her heart a closed book instead of being worn right on her sleeves. Thus this helps her through much of day to day life and hard times, allowing not as much to phase her as things might do otherwise. Her artistic abilities are well pronounced as well, her art coming off very beautiful at times, though the overall picture might display a feeling of loneliness.
Kira has a very strong streak of determination in her. If she sets her mind to doing something she will not stop trying until her task is complete. It is usually a good thing not to give up, and it often can make one stronger in the end. By never giving up she can often learn more about what it is she is doing unlike those that just quit. Though she does not like getting things wrong she does know that the greatest knowledge can often be achieved through the mistakes she makes.
Being a half vampire is a strength in some ways. She has the ability to sense another presence by their blood though she would only be able to identify them as human or animal. It is by the sense of smell that she can do this, mostly because vampires use this sense to hunt their prey. She can also use a sort of dark vision, enabling her to see clearly during night. During this time her eyes turn a deep crimson. Being a creature of predatory instinct and such, Kira had more speed and stamina than usual but not by too much, and her strength is not much better than a regular human.
In a world that knows only hate:
Being secretive has it's downfalls as well. Sai has large trust issues between other people and herself. She has a tendency not to trust anyone, at least until she gets to know them well. Even then her trust is limited, it's limits depending on the person and how well she knows him or her. These trust issues will stop her from developing well socially and from experiencing new, and possibly better, things. As long as she does not trust people she will be alone in the world, something she believes she wants.
Another weakness she has is in memory. Sai usually only remembers what she wants to or seemingly irrelevant information to the topic at hand. This is not so bad that she forgets everything she learns in school or anything as such, but usually ties in with her social skills or the subject of history which she has a tendency to forget most of even after she just came from the class. Usually, in social situations, she will forget things that she said she would do or things that she was suppose to remind herself or others to do.
Being very observant most of the time really hinders on her will to act out. Kira is not one to stand up for other people, though if someone is really picking on her she will stand up for herself. She does not like to get involved in things, especially if they have no consequence to her. This is a weakness in that her opinions are never really heard or acted upon most of the time so it is as if her existence in the world would leave no markings upon the future generations nor will she struggle to make her quality of life any better.
Determination can also be a weakness as well. Never giving up can sometimes be detrimental to her health as sometimes it can put Kira in real danger. If she is dedicated to getting a hold of something and some dark witch or wizard is in her way she would fight, even if it may kill her. Still, coming to that point is a bit hard for Kira because whatever it is would have to be very important to her for her to dedicate herself as such. However, such a thing could still be the difference between life and death.
Curiosity can also get her into much trouble as sometimes that part of her that tells her things are too dangerous just does not seem to kick in right on time. Kira does try not to let it get the best of her, but sometimes it just seems impossible. Such curiosity has gotten her into trouble in the past and she knows that it will probably get her into trouble in the future as well. As she cannot seem to to much about it though she has made the decision to just try her best in whatever situation it leads her into and hope to get out of it safely.
Along with it's strength being a half vampire has it's weaknesses as well. Sun sickness is one that she found. Kira hardly ever stays outside more than a few hours as after that she can start to overheat depending on what season it is. During the summer time it can get really bad. There is also the lack of control that she can have sometimes when fresh blood is in the air. It can become almost hypnotizing if she is not prepared mentally to block the smell. This is where her fear of becoming a monster also stems from. She also has an allergy to things with garlic, depending on how much is in there. By smell she might notice it in larger amounts and have hay fever type symptoms. Through eating she would probably choke, though she had never attempted to.

What a bitter story of love:
Kira's father was a vampire, though she never met him until her fourth year. Her mother was a witch, who died giving birth to her. Kira figured that because she was half vampire it just took too much for her mother to deliver her. She was adopted into her great aunt's household, where she lived until she came to Hogwarts. Her great aunt was a rich woman, but didn't give Kira too many things often. However, when she did give her gifts, they were the best gifts a child could want and more. Still, they came rarely and were not really given out of love as far as she could tell.
Her great aunt was nice sometimes, but could never understand the girl she took in. However it was obvious that she didn't like the girl too much. She would sometimes give the girl cold looks because of what she was. Other times Kira was ignored completely. In all, the only reason she could figure the elderly woman would take her in would be just for the woman she killed by being born, or perhaps she felt sorry for her, though she highly doubted that. It was a hard world to live in, but somehow Kira would make it through.
Kira could often be found sitting on the window sill of her room at night, just looking at the stars. Her great aunt had told her what she was by accident and ever since then Kira has struggled to find out all she could about dhampirs. She often wonders about her father, but all she knew was that his last name is Valentine, hence why her last name was Valentine. She wondered if it was because her great aunt had not wanted her to take her last name, or perhaps she had been lied to and taken from her father. Still, if the latter was true then why did her father simply leave her here, could he not save her from that despicable place?
Kira was not allowed outside because her great aunt forbid her to be out. She wasn't allowed any friends and barley met any other person outside the household. This made for a very lonely life, one that Kira seemed to readily except, thinking that she would probably be alone forever. She often spent her time reading and drawing some instead. She could also be found in deep though by her window throughout the day or sitting in front of her great aunt's piano and teaching herself how to play and read the notes on the pages. Most of the things she learned during that time she learned by herself or from books.
Kira's great aunt rarely mad conversation with the girl, but when she did she was civilized. They didn't argue with each other, but when an argument seemed about to start Kira would leave the room in favor of being alone for the time being. When she got her letter to go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy, her aunt forbid her to go at first, perhaps thinking that such a girl did not deserve to go to the school or that she would be an embarrassment to the family and possibly a danger to those at the school. Eventually she gave in and let the child go, giving her some money to buy school supplies, but not much more.
Kira's first year at Hogwarts came as a relief to her, though that relief was short lived. It was only a short while after she arrived that she received word that her great aunt Ayame Tasogare had passed. During this time she had sought comfort from her close friend Dragomir. It was under a strange circumstance that he and the dhampir became friends. They had first met in the library, looking up subjects about their own personal problems. It had been Kira that had found the book that would bring them closer together.
The book in question had caught the young girl's eye because it seemed to have been in the wrong section. However, when she tried to read it the book gave her a shock, literally, and burned her hands. They healed quickly enough, but after that she had fallen unconscious from sudden weakness. There had been some sort of sentient within the book that had overwhelmed her mind. She had nightmares for most of the year until finally the being was destroyed with the help of her best friend.
During her second year things had started out smoothly. She had been doing well in classes but things began to get terrible near the end. It was then that she had ventured into the Forbidden Forest, though she could not expect what would happen. While stumbling about in the dark, Kira had come across a few unfriendly creatures, spiders to be more exact. Being alone, she had barely managed to escape being dinner, sustaining many injuries in the process. She had managed to make it as far as the common room before passing out. Of course someone had taken her to the hospital wing, though she never actually found out who. Many points were lost that day.
Her third year was the calmest. Nothing much happened to her, though she was still depressed about the former year. It was during this year that she began to question the place she had been staying during summer holidays. It had been in the Leaky Cauldron, but she never had to pay. The room was simply there for her, already paid for. At first she thought it was some relative of her family that felt some sympathy for her, but when she asked there was no answer from Tom. This was the only mystery to her during this year that would continue onto the next.
Her fourth year had been calm enough, though there was a more interesting occurrence. She had received a letter from her father that year. He had not said much in it, seemingly being a soft-spoken person such as herself, however he did give her a locket containing the photographs of both himself and Kira's mother. Kira was happy for this, though she still wished to see him, even find out what exactly happened after she was born to make him leave her with her great aunt. After that year she spent the summer holiday renting a room with money her father sent her. He explained that he was trying to get a house for the two of them ready and that he hoped she would decide to live with him instead of else where.
The melody was soft on the wind, stirring a sort of calming sense to the Ravenclaw. The memories seem to fade just a bit more, though only for now, and she felt a sort of longing that she could never identify. It was always there, that longing, whenever she formed a melody in her throat and let it ride on the wind. It was like something was missing, but then when was there nothing missing? Kira always had a sort of incomplete feeling, something that just stuck within her mind like a beacon and would warn her that there was still something not quite right. It was always possible that she had just created that feeling all by herself and there was no true cause for concern, but it just seemed to always nag at her somewhere in the back of her mind. It was ignored most of the time, but other times she could not help but acknowledge that, wonder what was not there. She would probably never figure it out, at least not at the rate she was going. Perhaps one day she would have some sort of epiphany or something and finally be able to identify it, figure out what was wrong. For now, she would just sit and wait for something, anything. Hopefully that something would come soon though, for it was nagging at her even then as she stood looking out to the stars.
So deep in her mind, she had noticed so little around her. The boy behind her had practically landed right behind her as far as she was concerned. It was like there had been no sound, not even a whisper of his presence, but when he let himself be known she could have jumped. As tempting as that was, though, Kira had only displayed a slight movement at his voice, a very slight jerk to the side as if trying not to flinch and barely succeeding. It was just about what had happened. The voice behind her she could not recognize, though he did not sound as if he would attack her at any moment. If he had wanted to attack her he would have done so already anyway, there was no point in letting himself be known. Of course there was the off chance that he was just sadistic and wanted to see her scared face before actually attacking, but hopefully not. Hopefully it would just be some boy that wanted to be alone or something and did not feel up to attacking anyone at that precise moment for she was unsure if she could stand an overly happy person right now. As far as she was concerned she might actually like painful torture better, though perhaps that was a bit drastic.
Kira had not turned yet, as probably some ordinary person would have done when faced with a surprise visit of an unknown person. Instead she relaxed herself a bit and calmed herself from the brief moment of surprise the person had offered her. It was then that she turned her body only slightly, turning her face so that she could send the boy behind her a sideways glance. Her face was detached as always, her eyes quite cold and blank from any light that happiness might bring. Getting a good look at the boy she could finally identify him as the boy that was in Slytherin, the same year she was in. Being in the same year they did have some classes, but she never interacted with anyone in class unless she had to because it was a group assignment or something. They rarely had those though and for the most part the houses tried to keep within their own groups, their own friends. She was actually one of the last students to actually move to a group, choosing those people that would cause the least amount of annoyance and have the best chance of getting all work done with a high score. This boy, Alex Everard she believed his name to be, was one known for trouble. It was something that he easily displayed that day at the lake with those two Gryffindors. That was a clear sign that she should avoid him, but it would do no harm to talk to him now, would it?
Tilting her head slightly to the side, remembering his statement from earlier, she finally decided it was time to speak. "I wasn't really expecting anyone else to want to be here," she said, her voice quiet but the tone steady. Alex was known to pick fights, and she really did not desire one now. Still, she would not be weak to him for if she displayed that it would entice him, or even others, to try to pick on her. It really was not even that. She was not a weak person at all nor would she go so much as to display that. That was the reason, her desire to be and remain strong. Kira had always held a belief that people needed to be strong, that was why she never really tried to help when someone was being picked on. Of course, if it were a close friend she would help, but she had none of those. Why would she anyway? It just seemed to her that no one really wanted to be all that close with her and she really did not care about it if that was the case. None of that mattered to her, or did it really? Sometimes she would just absolutely confuse herself.
