At that particular moment, Annelise didn't care about anything. She didn't care that it was well past curfew or the fact that Remus' birthday party had just ended. She didn't care that she and Remus had just officially gotten into a relationship and that this was probably the worst first conversation as a couple. She felt completely lost. Annelise had went back to her common room late to find Professor Sprout waiting for. She had expected to be scolded, but no such thing happened. Instead, she heard the worst news of her life. She had collapsed into a chair in the Hufflepuff common room, and when Professor Sprout left, Annelise did as well soon afterwards. Her vision was cloudy by tears and also due to the fact that they were quite puffy. She made her way back to Gryffindor tower, and was only stopped when she reached the portrait of the Fat Lady. Annelise didn't know the password, and hadn't been paying attention when Remus had said it. She felt stupid.
Annelise then began to argue with the Fat Lady to let her in, and even used uncharacteristic profanities to try and make her case. In reality, it just made the situation worse for her. The Fat Lady ended up turning her back to Annelise and ignoring her. Annelise then slumped to the floor with her back against the wall. Out of everyone in Hogwarts, the only person she had was Remus. It was sad, but true. She couldn't even reach him when she needed him the most, and didn't even care if she was caught in the corridor. She pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them and began to sob quietly to herself. She didn't even care if she had to sit there all night.

Remus was, admittedly, tired. He and Annelise had had a rather pleasurable evening and after she'd gone back to her own common room (Remus had wanted to walk her there, but she had insisted it was his party and that she'd be fine). Since then, the party still hadn't ended. Now, a few hours later, it finally seemed to die down. People were falling asleep on couches, on top of each other or on the transfigured plants and Remus was about to head off to bed when someone he didn't really know nudged him. Usually, people he didn't know didn't nudge him, so Remus frowned. "What is it?" Whoever it was, Remus only understood the words 'outside..think..for you' (the other person was rather decidedly drunk) and Remus sighed a little. If there was trouble, he might as well go check it out. Maybe it was MacGonagall who was going to tell him off for allowing his friends to organise such outrageous parties. Yes. Probably. Had to be it. He'd just listen and head off to bed.
Yawning, he walked towards the common room exit, joints complaining and Remus pulled a bit of a face. He just wanted to roll himself in blankets and think of nothing but how splendid the night had been. He couldn't believe he actually had a girlfriend, he still half expected it to be some sort of joke. He felt a little proud, actually - Peter was sort of chasing a girl but never really approached her, James had been trying to get Lily for ages now, and Sirius never had any sort of fixed relationship, making him the only one in his circle of friends who was actually 'taken'. It still sounded strange. Slowly, he pushed the portrait open and peered out. No Macgonagall. Oh.
Rather clumsily, he stumbled out of the portrait hole, the Fat Lady complaining about 'students damaging her some day if they kept drinking too much', but Remus didn't hear at all. He'd squatted across Annelise, heavily shaken by the state she was in, and not quite sure what to do now, but sure that it would probably not be good if she stayed curled up on the floor like that. "Annelise?" he softly asked, not sure if she had noticed him, and gently put a hand on her shoulder. "What's wrong?" At least he was smart enough not to ask if she was alright, that would've been plain stupid. Remus was also a little shocked to find, though, that he felt sad himself simply at seeing her so utterly defeated. Remus couldn't help but think that there would be a new bad memory he'd have to relive when around Dementors apart from the ones he already had - this was without a doubt one of the worst things he'd ever witnessed and she hadn't even told him what was wrong yet.

A few people passed Annelise, but didn't say anything to her. She supposed that she just looked like a typical drunken girl. In fact, she wouldn't have been surprised if people assumed that Remus cut off things between the two of them, as she had left the party early after coming down from the boys' dormitories. She didn't really care. She wasn't about to ask one of these people to allow her into the Gryffindor common room for they would no doubt ask her what was wrong and she didn't want to tell them. Not only did she not believe them to care, but she just didn't want to share with people who couldn't have been bothered to give her the time of day if she wasn't crying.
The portrait of the Fat Lady opened, but she didn't even bother looking up just in case it was someone she didn't want to see. However, she heard a voice say her name and a hand on her shoulder, and she immediately knew who it was. Annelise looked up with her brown eyes puffy. She felt ugly, but didn't think she cared due to the situation. Why should she care about what she looked like after what had happened? Annelise was rather surprised that he had asked 'what's wrong' instead of 'are you okay'. She sniffed and wiped some tears from under her eyes in order to look less pathetic. "It's my brother... he... he..."
Annelise took a deep, shuddering breath in order to try to calm herself, but failed. She sobbed a few more times before taking a few more deep breaths. She didn't even bother to get up from her sitting position. "Remus, Jakob w-was killed."
Annelise then couldn't hold it in any longer. She became to cry harder into her hands. Saying it made it seem real to her.

Although Annelise didn't look up, Remus knew, instantly, that it was her. Looking at her, so shaken and curled up, was already upsetting, but when she looked up and Remus looked eyes with her, he was surprised that it was almost like physical pain. A brief moment, he lost himself in that feeling, which felt vaguely familiar, but also strangely new, until Annelise spoke. "It's my brother... he... he..."A thousand possibilities crossed his mind. Her brother had run away from home, had an accident - Remus thought up scenarios quicker and quicker just to try and keep what everyone feared most these days. Placing his other hand on her other shoulder, he tried to physically as well as mentally steady Annelise a little, but he wasn't sure if it would help. He hoped so. She sobbed a few more times. It actually told Remus enough, but he hoped, hoped, hoped he was wrong. "Remus, Jakob w-was killed."For a few second, everything was silent, even Remus' mind echoed, before he drew a sharp breath and swallowed with difficulty. Oh god. Annelise was crying louder and in a reflex, Remus pulled her close, the news still sinking in, slowly, like an animal trapped in quicksand, trying to get out, sinking faster, but never fast enough to make it a quick, painless death. It wasn't fair. Remus knew Annelise loved her brother pretty much more than anything else, she had told him so much about him, Remus had been looking forward to meeting him.. He swallowed again and held Annelise a little tighter. "I got you," he muttered, not sure where the words came from, because it didn't sound like his voice - it was too calm and yet too emotional. His mind was racing, but in slow motion, it was strange and confusing and like the world had stopped existing apart from the two of them - there was nothing else on his mind. Remus took a deep breath. "I got you," he said again, a little louder, the whirling world in his head slowly going back to its normal speed as the shock wore off and Remus found he could think clear again. They needed privacy, they needed it now. Room of Requirements. Gently, he helped Annelise up. "Come one, let's go somewhere quiet," he softly said, still holding her close and unwilling to let go of her. Once she was ready, he started walking, desperately wishing for the room to appear with a setting that would not upset Annelise but make her feel at ease. [You get to describe the room, as you're Annelise Also, PMd!]

After Annelise had told him, she half-expected him to mentally freak out and wonder what he had gotten himself into with the relationship. After all, they literally just became boyfriend and girlfriend, and already she was coming to him in tears. She was reminded horribly of all the boyfriends and girlfriends she saw in the corridors just holding each other weakly as if they were barely holding onto each other in a dramatic sort of fashion. Annelise knew this wasn't the case, and she knew that she had a legitimate reason to cry, but it didn't make her feel any better. She wished that seeing him for the first time after him asking her to be his girlfriend that she would look perfect (or as perfect as she could) and smiling like she usually was. This was definitely not the way she wanted their relationship to start.
Annelise watched Remus' face carefully as if analyzing his expression. One thing he didn't look was freaked out - or, at least, in that way. He looked shocked, yes, and as if he was thinking deeply. Remus pulled her close, and as much as it usually made her feel worse in bad situations, it actually relaxed her. It was like there was something different about him that she couldn't explain... it was almost like he had some sort of calming magical powers. Her sobs turned into simply tears (with the occasional shuddering breath) and she just relaxed into the embrace. Annelise just tried to focus on the fact that she was with him and that he was trying to make her feel better.
Annelise allowed Remus to help her up, and when he suggested going somewhere quiet, she merely nodded. She rarely felt at a loss for things to say, but this was definitely one of those moments. They wandered the corridors, and her mind was so blank that she had forgotten where the room of requirement was supposed to be. It didn't matter, for as they walked a door appeared from seemingly nowhere, although she wasn't complaining. She stepped through and closed the door behind both of them. The room was dimly lit by only a few candles here and there, along with a roaring fire in the fireplace. It wasn't a romantic atmosphere, merely a calming one. She didn't know why, but there were books on a bookcase next to the fireplace. Annelise wasn't an overly big reader, but she knew that the books had to serve some sort of purpose. There was a pitcher of pumpkin juice on the coffee table with a couple of cups, and facing the fireplace was a large couch. It looked as if it was made for twenty people, as it was far from a loveseat.
Annelise didn't know what to say now that they were there. She supposed that taking a seat would be a start, so that's what she did. She also took the opportunity to pour herself a glass of pumpkin juice and began to drink it slowly. Annelise wiped the tears off of her face. She was grateful that she wasn't wearing make-up, as it wouldn't have the opportunity to run. She stared into the fire, and began to zone out somewhat in a numbed fashion. Not only was she at a loss for words, but she also seemed to be at a loss for thoughts.

[Haha, no worries - it's not a rubbish post at all Mine'll be a tad short, but we'll manage, right? We'll get to the good bit soon anyway ] Remus was so glad to notice that she calmed once he'd embraced her. He had been a little scared it would turn out to be the opposite, that she would only feel awkward and push him away or something - but she didn't! He didn't mind at all that she came to him crying, not at all, he sort of felt special that she'd come to him instead of going to, well, someone else. Of course no one wanted their relationship to start with bad news, but Remus was glad that he could be there for her and that he, apparently, did actually calm her down a little. That was a good thing, wasn't it? He was quiet as they went to find the Room of Requirement, just held on tight to Annelise, and still didn't speak as they walked through the door, but was glad for the atmosphere the magical room had created. It was comfortable and he smiled weakly, sitting down next to Annelise as she did likewise. Remus also got himself a cup of pumpkin juice, but put it on the table after sipping it once, not really thirsty after all. He looked at Annelise quietly and as she stared into the fire his hand sought hers and he squeezed it gently. "Do you want to talk about it?" he asked softly. "It's okay if you don't want to, I just want you to know that you can if you want to.."

Annelise vaguely felt Remus beside her. She was usually such an optimistic person that she couldn't believe that this was happening to her. What had she done that was so wrong that made her deserve this? She knew her thoughts were selfish, but at that point in time, to her, it didn't matter. No one else could hear her thoughts anyways. Well, she hoped. She couldn't imagine being too skilled at Occlumency, but as far as she was aware, no one was trying to get into her mind. Even if they did and saw her selfish thoughts, she was still a better person than they were for trying to break into her head. Everyone was allowed to be selfish at moments like this, right?
Annelise wasn't exactly sure how to reply to Remus' question. His voice almost sounded as if he was far across the room instead of sitting right next to her, holding her hand. Even though bad things hardly ever happened to her, she found that when they did she preferred to be alone. It wasn't so in this case. She actually appreciated Remus' company, which by itself surprised her. The squeeze his hand gave hers helped her back into the moment. She felt as if he deserved to know... she had whisked him away from his birthday party to sit with her as she cried, after all.
"Well um..." Annelise's voice sounded sad and confused. A few tears spilled from her eyes every now and then, but she hastily wiped them away with a shaky hand. She knew that the only way she wouldn't immediately break down again would be if she didn't say her brother's name. Annelise knew it would make it easier. She took a deep breath and decided to just come out with it as fast as possible. "I don't know what happened, but I... I guess my father angered um, You-Know-Who, and well, I guess the best way You-Know-Who thought to punish my father would be to get that Fenrir Greyback guy, you've heard of him, haven't you? He's been in the papers... anyways, You-Know-Who sent him to attack well, my ... him. So Greyback and his ... his gang? Followers? Whichever went after him and well... they went too far..."
Annelise trailed off slowly. She tried to not think of the terrible things that had happened to Jakob. She knew that his death did not come quickly or easily. She bit her lip and continued with, "They were supposed to attack on the full moon, but I guess they held off for a few more days... I don't know why... but Greyback was in human form when he attacked... I don't know what he was thinking... I don't know if his animal side took him over and he didn't realize it wasn't full moon, I can't remember... I just can't remember what McGonagall said..."
Annelise wished she could remember. She didn't know if werewolves still had their animalistic tendencies outside of a full moon. It was like having a werewolf for a best friend when she was younger meant nothing suddenly. It was like she forgot everything in her grief.

Remus was aware that Annelise was still shaken very, very badly - and rightly so. Because of it, he kept in the background, he didn't want to press the matter home while she was still busy going through the first shock, so when she didn't reply at once, he didn't repeat his question - she would respond if she wanted, and if she didn't, he would be silent, but he'd at least be there. Remus wasn't sure if it would help, but he figured that's what he would want if he was that sad and broken. Or maybe he would want to crawl in a hole and hide.. He was about to ask Annelise if she'd rather he left, but then she spoke and his jaws snapped shut instinctively.
"Well um..." He allowed her to stammer for a moment, to hesitate, and pulled a handkerchief from his pocket which he offered to her. Basically, Remus had learned to deal with shocks throughout life, and he thought he was prepared for anything - he had dealt with a number of unwelcome surprises, after all, but what came out of Anneline's mouth made him blanch in silence. "I don't know what happened, but I... I guess my father angered um, You-Know-Who, and well, I guess the best way You-Know-Who thought to punish my father would be to get that Fenrir Greyback guy, you've heard of him, haven't you?" Remus nodded in silence, feeling a little nauseous at the thought. For a brief moment, he was glad Jacob had been killed. Oh, he was so glad, he was so glad he hadn't been turned - that would've been truly terrible, it would've been so much, way more terrible. At least now Annelise would be able to remember him as the wonderful human he had been, he had never been tainted and maimed, his image would never be distorted. It was a strange sort of relief, but also a stifling feeling. For a moment, his eyes searched Annelise's face, almost afraid she'd suddenly notice and push him out of her life. Meanwhile, of course, Annelise was still talking. "He's been in the papers... anyways, You-Know-Who sent him to attack well, my ... him. So Greyback and his ... his gang? Followers? Whichever went after him and well... they went too far..." Remus swallowed his first reply ('be glad they went too far, you should be glad he died'), because it would be hurtful or give him away - or both.
Annelise became quiet, and Remus remained quiet, a little pale, but that didn't have to mean anything, did it? She was probably so overwhelmed by her grief that she didn't notice, anyway. Remus focused. He was here, listening to her, and he was not going to focus on anything else but her right now - so he pushed his thoughts and focused on her voice. "They were supposed to attack on the full moon, but I guess they held off for a few more days... I don't know why... but Greyback was in human form when he attacked... I don't know what he was thinking... I don't know if his animal side took him over and he didn't realize it wasn't full moon, I can't remember... I just can't remember what McGonagall said..." She fell silent again and Remus felt this was his cue to say something comforting, something that would help, anything. "Don't- don't try to figure out what Greyback was thinking. He can't have been thinking, he can't think - he's a monster," he softly said. "I- Don't-" Remus swallowed, desperately searching for words. "They can't hurt him anymore and- and I'm not going to allow them to hurt you anymore," he stammered, chewing his lower lip and swallowing another lump in his throat. He felt a little uncomfortable thinking about Greyback.
Remus hadn't known who had infected him until he'd been twelve. His parents had always told him they didn't know who had been responsible, he guessed they hadn't so that Remus wouldn't try to avenge his father or try and find Fenrir for whatever reason. Unfortunately, Greyback had decided to visit his 'cub' in the summer after Remus' first year at Hogwarts. It had been overwhelming and quite a relapse for Remus, who had made friends for the first time in years during the year before, and then there had been the monster who had turned him, confronting him with his own monstrosity, Fenrir bluntly telling him what he had done and why he had done it - and that he had liked it. For years, Remus had hoped and convinced himself that the werewolf who'd turned him had been like him - an accident, a victim, a nice person. Greyback hadn't been nice, not even remotely nice, telling him he smelled of human and magic. It had been one hell of a disillusion.

Annelise accepted the hankerchief from Remus as she told her story, but instead of actually doing anything with it, she mainly just twisted it in her hands. She felt like she had to be doing something, but didn't know what there was to do. She knew in the morning she would be going home for about a week in order to attend the funeral and just have overall time to grieve. What she was looking forward to even less than going home and leaving her only source of comfort was coming back to which she assumed people would either know about what happened, or just give their condolences, which she didn't want either. None of these people even knew Jakob, how could they be sorry that he was gone? He was the one who was supposed to have gone to Hogwarts. She had tried to give up her position here so that he could come. If it really would have worked, he probably still would have been alive. She knew it was positively useless thinking that way because it wouldn't have worked. He was a Squib and there was nothing she could have done to change that fact. It was simply genetics.
Remus nodded when Annelise asked him if he knew who Greyback was. For that she was grateful for she didn't want to have to explain. To have to explain who her brother's murderer was probably would have overwhelmed her a little bit. She noticed that his expression changed, but she assumed it was because he was disgusted like she was. After she finished her story, she felt as if she had to add, "Greyback's a disgusting thing. I'm surprised no one has ripped him piece by piece yet..." It was the first time Annelise had ever even spoke hatefully about anyone, especially in Remus' presence. Her tone was low, but completely serious. She had never felt the emotion of hate towards anyone before, so the feeling was new to her. She surprisingly meant every word that she had said. She couldn't even think of Greyback as a human being. He repulsed her. Annelise clenched her hands angrily on her knees and stared into the fire for several moments in order to take deep, calming breaths. Why did it have to be her brother to go? He was probably one of the best people she had ever met. He barely even had a chance to live yet... she hadn't even been able to show him the Patronus that was beginning to slowly take shape... (it was still a bit cloud-looking, but she could definitely tell by now that it was supposed to be some sort of animal.)
Annelise smiled lightly at his words, but when she looked back at him, she saw that he looked immensely bothered. She didn't ask, for he would have elaborated if he felt like it. She didn't know if Greyback had affected his family in some way at some point, but she wasn't going to force it out of him if he didn't feel like it.
"Thank you, Remus," she said, quietly. "I just... I just wish he could have gone peacefully... not like... not like that."
It was true, as well. She probably would have wished for anything else to have happened to him. She imagined it had probably been worse than the Cruciatus Curse. Why couldn't he have just been hit by the Killing Curse? It would have been quick, painless... the exact opposite of what Annelise hoped Greyback's death would be like. her eyes burned with tears again and she tried to hold them back but failed. She felt as if she was trapped in her body. She felt so immensely sad and angry; both emotions which she had barely had to feel growing up. Now it was all rushing into her and she didn't know what to do with it all. It all felt like too much... she didn't even know how to put it into words. "I hope Greyback gets all the pain he has ever given in his life back tenfold," Annelise stated, her voice beginning to sound angrier and angrier without it intending to. She bit her lip quickly and looked away from Remus and back into the fire. "And to think his ... offspring actually attend Hogwarts!"

Remus knew she would be going back home for the funeral and everything. He would've offered to come, but he would be an outsider in the family and besides.. there would be a full moon interfering. He still sat next to her quietly, fumbling with his fingers a little, uncomfortable with how close to him this subject was, but unable to escape from it. "Greyback's a disgusting thing. I'm surprised no one has ripped him piece by piece yet..." Something squeezed inside Remus' chest and he inhaled for a moment. He tried to focus on the fact she meant Greyback, but somehow, it scared him and he swallowed hard, nodding softly in agreement. It was all the more impressive because Annelise was never angry like this, she was always understanding, and this side of Annelise scared him simply because Remus now feared that it would once be directed towards him. He wouldn't be able to cope with that. Remus glanced at the angry girl next to him, squeezing her hand again, wanting her to calm down. He knew she had a right to be angry, and she needed to express that anger, but it made him feel a little uncomfortable now.
He was immensely relieved Annelise didn't ask him anything even if he felt her looking at him - that was unchanged in Annelise: she still didn't pry. Remus was glad for it. "Thank you, Remus. I just... I just wish he could have gone peacefully... not like... not like that." Remus nodded slightly. "I know," he softly said. "But it could've been worse - he could've been infected." His voice was low and his expression serious. Remus felt he had to say it, he hoped it would comfort her, and it didn't mean she would be onto him at once - everyone could think of that. "I hope Greyback gets all the pain he has ever given in his life back tenfold." Remus nodded quietly, pulling Annelise against him and stroking her back a little, hoping to soothe and calm her. He felt immensely torn, on one hand he wanted to be there for her, on the other hand it almost felt wrong to be near her, simply because of what he was. "And to think his ... offspring actually attend Hogwarts!" Remus nodded silently again. Yes. It was unbelievable. Greyback should never have gotten children, the mere idea was.. unthinkable and terrible. Remus shuddered slightly.

Annelise noticed again after she called Greyback a thing that Remus' facial expression changed. She knew Greyback must have affected Remus' life somehow, but she didn't dare ask. He couldn't have struck too close to home, considering she had never heard Remus talk about him before. Annelise couldn't help but ponder, and for some reason her mind fell upon his friends. Peter! Peter was a little strange after all, and a quiet boy. He didn't really seem to fit in with the others, but the others defended him to no end. Could it be that Peter was actually a werewolf...? Her eyes widened slightly at the realization, but she kept her mouth shut and didn't dare say anything. She knew it wouldn't be Remus' place to say.
Remus squeezed her hand, and it helped her calm just a little bit, although she couldn't rid herself of the feeling that her blood was boiling. She felt as if she preferred anger over feeling sad. It was easier to deal with, although admittedly a bit more confusing. She just didn't want to cry, especially around Remus. When he told her that it could have been worse, that he could have been infected, she bit her tongue momentarily. How did he think that being a werewolf would be worse than being dead? At least if Jakob was a werewolf she'd still have her little brother... he'd still be around to talk to. How bad could one transformation be in a month?
"If he was infected... he'd... he'd still be here," she muttered under her breath. After she said it, she knew she was being selfish. What did it matter to her if her brother had to go through an awful transformation once a month as long as she had him? Annelise kept her eyes away from Remus in case he got mad at what she had said. She realized after she had said it that it had been wrong, but she couldn't help it. She knew that she would rather go through something terrible once a month than be dead, but that was just her. She knew that a lot of people would pick the opposite. She then began to wonder if he had become a werewolf if he would have felt more connected to the wizarding world that he so longed to join... she definitely didn't voice that opinion, however, because she knew that it was a terrible thought to have.
Remus pulled her to him and she relaxed into him. She never stopped being amazed about how comfortable she felt in his arms. It always just felt so right. She still felt amazed that he was continuing to sit with her despite the fact that it was getting quite late. He didn't say anything along the lines of, 'I should probably hit the hay, feel better soon' or anything of the like. She allowed him to comfort her and rub her back and it made her feel better, but also less angry, which only allowed her to feel sad once again. A few more tears escaped her and found their way onto Remus' shoulder, but she doubted that he minded. After a few moments, however, she pulled back and wiped her eyes yet again.
"It's ... it's people like Greyback that disgrace werewolves," she said, no longer sounding as angry as she did earlier. She sounded as if she was thinking out loud, and she wasn't looking at anything in particular. "I mean... look at my old friend. He won't be able to get a job or anything because of pieces of filth like Greyback and his followers. They're perverting their disease." Annelise meant it in the sense that they tried to make it look like because they were werewolves, they had to be brutal and cruel, when she knew for a fact that the opposite could be true. Her old friend was one of the kindest people she knew. It was just something unfortunate that happened to them. Even Peter... she didn't know Peter well, but he seemed okay enough. Not all werewolves were like Greyback and his followers, but it seemed that way because all werewolves who weren't like him were too afraid to come out and tell people in case they were shunned.
Annelise sighed. "I just wish Jakob was still here..."

Remus wasn't sure how to behave. He was used to lying to strangers, he had even lied to his friends before they'd figured him out, but that was all nothing like lying to Annelise - it was very difficult. He knew she could probably read that something was wrong from his face, but if she asked, he'd probably avoid the question or say he felt bad for her - which he did, so it wasn't technically a lie.. For a moment, he swore he could see realisation dawn on her face, and his heart skipped a beat, panic flashing in his eyes despite himself; surely she hadn't- But she didn't ask, nor did she move away, and Remus focused on the feeling of her hand in his to calm himself, which, luckily, worked. Ironic, that he'd be calming himself by focusing on her presence, while he was trying to calm her, too.
"If he was infected... he'd... he'd still be here." Remus nodded slightly. "Yes- of course, I mean- Yes." He decided not to say more than that. It would be best if he didn't voice his opinion. In his opinion, death was probably better. Remus had never had suicidal tendencies (though he had sometimes wished for death when he was still very young), but he knew how hard it could be for the relatives, and being a werewolf himself. He had the feeling Annelise would feel worse if Jakob had been turned, the prejudice was something a lot of people never stopped to think about, either.
Annelise relaxed when he pulled her against him and Remus was glad for it, suppressing a yawn. Yes, it was rather late now, but no way he was going to leave her now that she was in this state. If needed, he was sure the Room would provide them with pajamas and separate beds. Besides, Remus was a bit of a night owl, anyway.. "It's ... it's people like Greyback that disgrace werewolves." Remus nodded again, kept himself from smiling though he felt his fear subside a little. Maybe it wasn't as bad as it had sounded just now.. "I mean... look at my old friend. He won't be able to get a job or anything because of pieces of filth like Greyback and his followers. They're perverting their disease." Remus nodded a little, again, not sure what to say about it, so he thought it best to just nod and pretend like he'd never thought about it before. "I just wish Jakob was still here..." Remus smiled sadly and held Annelise a little closer. "I'm so sorry.."

Remus was being awfully quiet and Annelise felt terrible for springing the news on him. She yawned and then curled up against Remus in a comfortable position. The fact that the couch was oversized made it so she was able to be comfortable. She couldn't help but wonder if she should have told him the next day and just let him have fun at his party. The sudden realization of what she could have done made her feel even more terrible. At the time all she wanted was to find him and be comforted, and now she just wish that she hadn't all.
"I'm sorry," Annelise said as she closed her heavy eyelids. "I know this is the opposite of how you wanted to spend your sixteenth birthday..."
Annelise yawned again. Her eyes were stinging from crying, which only made her feel more tired. Without really paying attention to what she was doing, she moved herself closer to Remus so she was snuggled right against him. She was getting comfortable without realizing what she was doing. She was sick of crying. She was so exhausted from doing so that she was hoping that she would have a dreamless sleep whenever she did end up nodding off. Before she knew it, however, consciousness slipped from her.
OOC: Sorry for the shortness and for Annelise falling asleep... I didn't know how they could finish the conversation lmfao so I just made her sleep on him... xD

[Haha, no worries - it's late after all, and the poor girl needs some sleep. You want to end the topic or continue in the morning? (: Or we could start a topic after Annelise returns from the funeral?]
He looked down on his girlfriend (still such a strange thing to think!) when she yawned and stroked her hair lightly. Of course she'd be tired. It was late and she'd just been through a tremendously traumatic experience. Traumatic experiences were immensely tiring, Remus knew. Remus had expected her to just go ahead and fall asleep, and he was fine with that, but instead, she spoke once more. "I'm sorry, I know this is the opposite of how you wanted to spend your sixteenth birthday..." He smiled faintly and moved to kiss her cheek. "Who cares about birthdays. Beside, it would've been worse if I had been having fun while you were so hurt," he softly said, and he meant it. He would've felt unforgivable terrible if he hadn't been there for her.
The werewolf slightly smile when she moved to a more comfortable position against him and closed her eyes. Good, sleep was probably exactly what she needed. And if she woke up, he would be here, anyway, as there was no way Remus was going to be able to sleep. There were too many doubts, thoughts, and fears on his mind, so all he did was ask the Room for a duvet of some kind and managed to cover Annelise with it without waking her. Then, he sat back and sighed deeply and slowly. It wasn't over yet, not at all, but at least it was over for now..

Annelise was so tired that she was practically sleeping by the time that Remus responded. She heard him, but it was like his voice was somewhat muted. She couldn't help the small smile that crept on her face, and she felt a little bad that she had smiled. Her brother was dead, but yet she felt it was okay to smile. She was too exhausted to care, and merely replied to Remus with a simple, "Hmmm."
Annelise suddenly felt warm, and although she knew some of the warmth was coming off Remus, she also felt something on top of her that she assumed was a blanket. She was the kind of tired that only truly exhausted people get: the kind in which she could have been lying on a bed of nails and been comfortable. So, it didn't take long for her to fall asleep.
OOC: I think it's a good place to end the thread. We can start another thread in the library if you want?
