Green house six. Why, of all days, did it have to snow so vehemently while he was having herbology in green house six?! Oh, don't get Remus wrong - he loved snow. He loved playing about in the snow with his friends and having fun, but.. he had to walk all the way back to the castle and he knew he would be freezing. On top of that, he wasn't sure if there would be any fooling around in the snow with his friends this time, and that made the snow some sort of bitter thorn in the side.
At least Saige seemed to have forgotten about him. Remus had no way to really check, as the girl avoided him now most of the time, but he assumed it was the last gossip page that had done it, just as he had anticipated when he had told Rita Skeeter he would never ever date the girl. Of course he would have, but then what good would that have done? That's what he was telling himself now, really: 'what good would it have done?' At least he could now focus about coming back on good terms with Sirius.. right? Remus knew it would be thoroughly unGryffindory and cowardly and stupid, but though he still felt like he had been in the right (he had been, he had!) there was nothing left to do but ask Sirius for forgiveness and look very sorry about it all. He was truly sorry about the whole thing. He just wanted everything to go back to the way it was, him and his friends. Inseperable. Sirius would forgive him, surely, right? Sirius could be as changable as the sea, but surely, if Remus admitted he was wrong and Sirius was right, surely his friend would just be overjoyed by being right while he was wrong, he would joke about it, Remus would roll his eyes and smile and then everything would be back to the way it was, right?
Remus wasn't even sure if Sirius would be staying at school for the holidays. Remus would. Not because his parents felt he would be safer there, but his transformations were easier to manage in the shrieking shack than at home in the concrete cellar.
He could imagine Sirius would also stay - his parents weren't very fond of him and might not want him to be in the way, on the other hand.. they might want to keep Sirius in his room so he couldn't cause trouble anywhere. Or just to keep him from his friends and be mean to him.
Either way, Remus just wanted to know if Sirius was staying, and he hoped so. He didn't want to risk being left behind on his own and he and Sirius had a lot to talk about.
Herbology was over by the time he'd ended this train of thought and Remus braced himself from the transition from the warmth of the green house to the cold, at least five minute walk to the castle..
As he expected, he was soaked by the time he was inside. For one, it had been snowing like mad, secondly, people seemed to like to target him with snowballs, simply because they knew his face and had read all about him in that woman Skeeter's sad excuse for writing. Remus couldn't be bothered to block the snowballs, it wasn't so bad, he was okay with snow, but he just really wanted to get inside and change..
In the dorm, he peeled off his wet, cold uniform and left it in the laundry basket for the House Elves to find. Even his underwear was soaked, ugh. Pulling on a pair of jeans, he smiled as he found it was his favourite pair just back from the laundry. It was a tad too large, and that was why he liked it. Remus didn't like being 'caught in clothing'. His uniform he could stand, simply because it made him blend in, but Remus much preferred clothing he didn't notice too much. Maybe it was his animalistic side that made him feel this way, he wasn't sure.
After pulling a dark green turtleneck over his head that had belonged to Sirius (he had grown out of it years ago), Remus grabbed a book and walked downstairs to the common room, where a fire was blazing. Good. Sirius would pass through here some time and when he did, Remus would make sure to make him talk to him, so he could apologise and everything could go back to normal without girls upsetting their lives..
