The school was quiet, most people were either in lessons or studying for the up and coming exams next month. Dorcas had finished her only lesson of the day an hour and a half ago and since then had spent time in the library, surrounded by plenty of other students with free periods, trying to do the same as her - study and revise hard so they could get the best grades they were possibly capable of, needless to say the majority of them were Ravenclaws that would probably pass with flying colours and then get ridiculous jobs in the Ministry pushing paper. They were all very much book-smart, but very few were life smart, at least in Dorcas' opinion anyway.
Having had enough of revising from her notes and library books, Dorcas had left the library in pursuit of a classroom. She saw Professor McGonagall heading towards the great hall, probably in search of some lunch and so Dorcas decided she would try the regular Transfiguration classroom seeing as McGonagall wasn't in there and the advanced transfiguration lot, that she was a part of and taught by Professor Masters, had a separate classroom a little more down the hallway but she wasn't sure if that room had a lesson in it or not considering Professor Masters hadn't been seen by her own two eyes in the past ten minutes since leaving the library.
Dorcas had been studying for months in preparation for the up and coming exams. This was her final chance to get straight O's, she wanted nothing less than to pass with flying colours. She had next to no friends in school to really distract her and the will to get a decent, enjoyable job when she left Hogwarts was pushing her forward to succeed. She was thinking of a job doing something at the Ministry, probably a Hit Witch or even an Auror, it all depended on her grades being as close to perfect as possible, but being an Auror would be a dream come true for her and so that was why she was now in the empty transfiguration classroom, about to practice her wandless magic. She had managed to get non-verbal down to a fine art with spells, but not while she was under pressure to perform and right now there was no pressure weighted on her shoulders so she decided to try her wandless magic.
Laying her wand on the table and dropping her bag at her side, Dorcas tried summoning her wand to herself, she just needed to take baby steps at the moment and using magic that involved her wand helped make things a little easier. She could light her wand with 'lumos' But couldn't put it back out again with 'nox' so, after much, much trying, she decided to move onto another spell so that she wouldn't lose her mind. Last thing she needed was to be stressed out a month before the exams. Everything would just be so much easier of this was all taught at Hogwarts, but she supposed it wasn't necessary to learn, everyone carried their wand on them all the times, unless they were comfortable enough in an area to leave it somewhere, but even then, wands were usually kept relatively close by.
