Lily walked down the street of Hogsmeade, making her way to the front door of Honeydukes and walked right inside. This was one of her favorite shops to come to. It was currently a Hogsmeade weekend, and she really just needed got get out of the Castle, if only for a short time. She needed some fresh air. To top it off the young girl wanted some chocolate, so what better place to get such a thing then Honeydukes to get what she wanted. It was the best place to go to. Sure other places were good, but Honey dukes was the best to get any sweets in general.
Lily headed over to the chocolate part of the store, after she picked up everything she wanted lily started looking around at other things she may want to get. She headed over and got herself some sugar quills. She wasn't like thos people whom sucked/chewed on them in class. No Lily did her homework, she payed attention. She did however love sugar Quills. She just didn't use them to distract herself during class.
After she got eveything she watned to get Lily headed over to the line. There were a few people in front of her. When it was her turn she put everything onto the counter. After it was all rung up she put the amount of money for everything onto the counter. Today was an in and out thing. Lily didn't want to stay here too long. It was already starting to get packed.

Word count: 505 Wearing: His school uniform Comments: Sorry for jumping this topic, haha, Rem just really wants to bond with Lily a bit Remus didn't have much money to spare, but he just needed chocolate, he couldn't help it. The past month had been terrible and now he'd been left by the girl he's actually liked more than he liked to admit, he could use the comfort. It was wintry and cold and he had saved up by copying chapters from a book by hand rather than buying a book while he only needed two chapters. It had been a terrible lengthy business, but it had saved him loads of money. Books were expensive and though Remus loved books almost more than life itself, he knew when it would be better to just copy the chapters. Those were times when he regretted being so poor. It usually didn't bother him so much, but sometimes it felt unfair that he wasn't able to buy the books he wanted to study. To study, for goodness sake! Then again.. would he ever have a solid job, anyway? Remus doubted it severely. The closer he came to graduating, the more fear was settling in the pit of his stomach. But none of that now. He was in Hogsmead, getting some chocolate, and his afternoon was going to be pleasant. He didn't know if his friends were going, but if he didn't meet them, he was just going to pick up the chocolate and then walk back to the castle. He didn't meet them on his way to Honeydukes, and didn't even smell them around. He usually could - they were his pack, after all. Remus felt both relieved and disappointed. He missed being with his friends, but on the other hand.. he could use some time away from them: they just didn't understand. There were so many kinds of chocolate, Remus could barely choose. Luckily, Honeydukes also had some sort of try-out basket, filled with all the kinds of chocolate they had. It was expensive, but Remus had saved up (also to buy Christmas presents for his friends!) and he felt that he could use a present, he really could. Just as he was done paying, he spotted Lily a few spots in the queue behind him, and he waited for her by the door. They weren't immensely close friends, not like he was with James, Sirius, and Peter, but they were close enough. He liked Lily, she was a nice, proper girl and if anyone could get James' feet on the ground it was her. They had talked during their Prefect rounds and Remus guessed that he could use some company. If not from his friends, Lily was probably just as good. If not better. Lily was a girl, after all, she understood some things so much better. Plus, and most importantly: she was trustworthy. When Lily was done paying, he stepped forward and smiled at her a little. "Hey, coincidence seeing you here?" He scowled at himself for being to terrible with talking to girls, but Lily was an understanding girl, she wouldn't feel offended or laugh at him, right?

Lily grinned when she heard who it was that spoke to her "Hey Remus" she replied with a bit of a giggle, to what he had said. The two of them weren't as close as he was with James, however they were pretty good friends. Lily supposed it probably had a lot to do with prefect duties together. That and Remus was about the only friends of James that she could stand. He was the only one who had a good head on his shoulders most of the time. "I wanted some Chocolate" she said with a giggle. "Oh and some sugar Quills." she added. "and I really just wanted to get out of the castle" she said with a nod.
Remus wasn't as annoying as Sirius or James himself. Infact Remus wasn't annoying at all. He was actually a good person to talk to. The two of them ahd a lot of things in common. And Peter well....it wasn't that Peter annoyed her. She just didn't trust him and there was something she just didn't like about him. That didn't stop her from at least being nice to him though. She'd never be mean to him for no reason. She would of course never tell Remus, Sirius or James that she didn't trust peter. For one it wouldn't really matter if she trusted him or not. It wasn't like she was friends with the rest of the marauders. She didn't see how it would be important for them to know that or not.

Word count: 389 Remus smiled at the redhead - she seemed glad to see him. Good, 'cause he could use some company and Lily was probably the best company for him at the moment. She was understanding, nice, she was a decent listener. Okay, she was a girl, but somehow she knew when to stop being a giggling, skirt-wearing idiot and just be.. normal. "I wanted some Chocolate. Oh and some sugar Quills. And I really just wanted to get out of the castle." Mimicking the nodding motion of her head, Remus agreed. "Quite, I was quite sick of staying inside all the time." Hoisting his back a little higher on his shoulder, he looked around short (why, he wasn't sure) and then added. "Do you, eh, have any other plans for today? I could use some company, if you're up for a stroll?" He felt almost like he was imposing on her, but then again.. she could just say 'no'. "I really feel the need for, well, someone with more in their heads than air," he added, grinning that lopsided grin of which he knew it betrayed his insecurity. He couldn't help it - he looked up to Lily. She had that great red-headed temper which, to him, seemed so much more like the Gryffindor courage thing than his own half-baked courage which he barely showed at all, really. Besides, she was able to tell Sirius off, something which Remus would never be able to do. He sometimes agreed with Lily when she gave the young Black a tongue lashing for something he'd done, but he would never show it. He knew Sirius, with his temper, could cast him out of his circle of friends faster than he could take his words back. It wasn't that he feared his friends. No he genuinely liked them, but he was just too afraid that they would wake up one day and not like him any longer. So he kept his mouth shut like the pseudo-Gryffindor he was. But he liked talking to Lily. She always seemed to have these sensible ideas about things that made the world seem so much easier. She was nice and had one hell of a personality. Plus she was a looker, he had to grant James that. He couldn't deny that he understood why James fancied the girl.

Lily shook her head, when he asked her if she had any other plans today. "Nope nothing else at all. This is my last stop." she said as she shook her head. She nodded when he said he could use some company. "A stroll it is then. I mean why would I stay no? I'm not doing anything and it's not like I don't like spending time with you" she replied. She laughed at the next thing he said about feeling the need for someone with more in their heads then air. She couldn't help it. That was exactly what she thought of James and Sirius at times and everyone knew it. It seemed like, at least to Lily that they just didn't know when to stop, after starting whatever it they decide to do for that day. They didn't know when enough was enough.
Sure yeah okay Lily knew how to have fun, but she knew when it was the time to do so and when it wasn't. James and Sirius, the many times Lily's seen them do something crazy, justd didn't know."You seem to be the only one to have a decent head on your shoulders and your certainaly not as annoying as James and Sirius are, so that's a plus" Lily said with a giggle. Lily couldn't stand most of the things Jamer or Sirius did. The only reason she didn't have a problem telling Remus this was because she knew that he already knew she couldn't stand the way the others acted. It wasn't a surprise to him and she knew he wouldn't take offence to it. Besides he was the one with the prefect badge, like herself. It was no secret he acted more mature then James and Sirius do at time.

"A stroll it is then. I mean why would I stay no? I'm not doing anything and it's not like I don't like spending time with you." Remus chuckled. "Always good to know." He continued smiling as Lily laughed - he couldn't help it, she could be so.. delightfully radiant. If she chose to, that was. Lily Evans was also very capable of imitating a thunderstorm, especially when she was near a certain bespectacled prankster. It was a pity she didn't like him, Remus mused, Lily would be more than capable of deflating James' ego and bringing him back to earth in stead of with his head in the clouds like some hot air balloon.
Walking alongside Lily, Remus debated whether to start on the chocolate and seem like a regular teenager or not. It wasn't that he didn't like chocolate, he just.. associated it with unpleasant things and usually saved it for moments when he actually craved or needed it. Really, sometimes, Remus worried about his mental state. Craving chocolate? Wasn't that a girl-sort-of-thing? He shrugged it off and looked up at Lily as she spoke. "You seem to be the only one to have a decent head on your shoulders and your certainly not as annoying as James and Sirius are, so that's a plus." He laughed softly. "Apparently I do. Still, I'm sure that if you give them a chance.." Remus shrugged again. "They're good friends - isn't that the most important thing?" Honestly? He had no idea how girl-friendships worked. He had the idea that they had no solid friendships at all, with all the tears and fights he'd seen in the common room. It seemed like girls were perpetually searching for a new best friend, as though there was sure to be someone better than the one they had now. Remus thought it was odd. Then again, he was glad to have friends altogether.
Walking past the Hogsmeade local Pub, Rem thought he could see Sirius sitting at a table with a girl. He half smiled, but refrained from waving as Sirius didn't see him anyway. Or maybe he was seeing it wrong and it wasn't Sirius. Whoever is was, if it was Sirius and that had been a girl, Remus just hoped he'd stick to this one this time. Having a girlfriend would maybe stop Sirius from being too impulsive. Then again.. Remus liked Sirius' impulsiveness. Sirius was the Inimitable Sirius, after all. As they walked on, he changed the subject. "We've rounds together tonight, don't we?"

Lily laughed a little and nodded. "Yeah I suppose" she replied, when he said that them being good friends or not would be the most important things. "Doesn't make them any less annoying though" she said with a nod. She didn't say that they weren't good friends. She knew they probably were, especially to Remus, but again Remus knew them a lot better then she did. Lily refused to get to really know them, until they grew up. Lily refused to have friends like James and Siriius. Lily was just well...stubborn.
She thought for a second before she started talking again. She wasn't exactly sure how to say it. "I never said they weren't good friends. I know they probably are especially to you I'm sure, but I'm stubborn. The reason I never give James the time of day is because he acts too much like a child, at least from where I'm standing he does. I have no idea how he acts around you and you probably know him better then I do, but the way he acts when I'm around, or from what I've seen he has a lot of growing up to do before I start looking at him in a different light and until he seems to understand that, then well he's shit outta luck" she said with a nod and a small giggle. Lily refused to be friends with, or more then friends with someone who acted like that. The fact she was still very good friends with Severus and they treated him like...well they treated him horribly didn't help James' situation at all. In fact it made it worse if anything.
Lily nodded at his final question. "Yeah I think we do" she replied nodding, after she thought about it for a second. For a minute there Lily almost forgot it was their night to be doing the rounds. Sometimes time flew so fast and it was hard to keep track, espeically if her mind is way too occupied on something else.

Word count: 501 "Doesn't make them any less annoying though.." Remus chuckled and put his hands in his pockets, walking leisury. He didn't do that often, he was usually hurrying here or there, but not now - christmas holidays were coming up and that basically meant loads of time to catch up on homework and relax without worrying too much. Remus wondered which of his friends were also staying behind, he'd have to ask them soon.. "Point taken," he agreed with a nod, still grinning at Lily slightly. "But you're right, I see them from different sides than you do." Remus shrugged. "I think Sirius is half-annoyed part of the time because it's not him in the spotlights when James tries to woo you, but then again he wants his best friend to be happy, so he doesn't want to interfere, and then seeing you reject him makes him angry with you for hurting James' feelings." He paused and added. "And James, well.. James, I don't know.. I think he gets nervous around you, it's something serious. He never behaved like an idiot when he asked other girls out in the past.. Things just.. slip off his tongue, I suppose." He glanced at Lily for a moment and smiled lopsidedly. "And, of course, you're far more temperamental than all the previous girls he's asked out. He's just using the wrong methods, I suppose." Blushing slightly, he quickly added. "Not that, well, not that I know that much about it all, of course." Remus coughed, uneasy. "I just.. think I know what's going on because I can observe it from a distance and know them rather well." He chewed his lip for a moment, silent. "But you didn't hear this from me, by the way," he added, even quicker than the previous remark. He was sure that if he told James he'd talked to Lily about him he'd be happy with it, but he wasn't so sure of Sirius would be or if James would be if he actually got to know what he'd said. Lily was discreet, though, he was more than sure of that. But those other girls.. he didn't know. Remus didn't know anything much about girls, really. They were intimidating, giggling creatures. Except for Lily, obviously. Lily nodded at his question about the rounds and confirmed his side-tracked thought. "Okay. I was thinking I could take some tea or something, I'll ask the House Elves for it. Doing rounds is all well and good, but the cold gets into the walls and floors of the castle - it's cold," Remus said with a shrug. He was, honestly, not that much affected by the cold (as long as he ate enough), but he knew Lily might be. Besides, hardly anything ever happened on rounds. A student out of bed, sometimes, or Peeves doing something he oughtn't do as usual, but despite the war going on outside, nothing had been able to breech Hogwarts walls yet - Remus was very glad of it..
