What can be found in a name:
Ella Michelle Thomas
When the day I was born:
30/12/1959
The Angels screamed:
Alice & Nathan Thomas
And Hell shut its doors:
Benjamin Thomas
While creatures retreated:
Spotted Owl- Camilla
To depths unknown:
Pureblood
I hide from them:
Quidditch Pitch, Beds, Lake, Common Room, Kitchens
Be who they want to see:
Ella is about 5'6'' or so, and very lean due to her extreme quidditch playing. Her curves are simply average and minimal (considering the quidditch) but in her eyes, her bust not as large as she'd like it to be, while her bottom not as small as she'd like it to be. She's also muscular, both her arms and legs are toned (but especially her arms... ask her to show her arm muscles, and you'll be shocked), but not to the point where she looks like a freak. Ella's face is an oval-shaped one, but the features on her face are more important than the shape of her face itself. Her eyes are a bright of blue, making them seem like they go on forever. The nose that belongs to Ella isn't a cute button nose, like she would have liked, but it's not as pointed as anyone else's. It's somewhere in between, making her average face seem even more....average. Her blond hair is probably the only feature that she likes about herself, along with her eyes. It falls past her shoulders in a few large waves, though it's occasionally straightened or curled with the help of magic. Natural streaks are visible in her hair, which she doesn't dare to tamper with. Ella's hair is usually down, lacking hairties, and usually parted in the middle or the side. Various scars are also located on her back, and she never hides them as she's waiting to see who cares enough to notice and ask (but when they do, she simply lies and says they're quidditch injuries). There is one tattoo located on her shoulder blades. It's a small one, but it reads 'never forget' in the form of angel wings, to remind her to never become what her father was, a monster.
Make-up is occasionally found on her face, on those special occasions that she wants to look nice.....like a ball or a party. Otherwise, Ella avoids wearing make-up, as she believes it makes people seem fake. The last thing she wants to do is seem fake. Her wardrobe consists of a mixture of muggle and wizard clothes. She's usually spotted wearing jeans, paired with a shirt that helps her fit in with the rest of the world. She's not too confident when it comes to her appearance, which is why she tries to look like everyone else.... but there is a bit of uniqueness in what she chooses to wear, as comfort is greater than what looks good, in her mind. As for jewelry, Ella prefers to wear bracelets on an everyday basis, while necklaces and earrings are for those rare occasions where she feels like wearing them.
But that leaves no one:
To discover that inside:
Ella is a very complicated person. Firstly, and most importantly, she makes it obvious to the public that she doesn't care about houses. Her friends range from Slytherins to Gryffindors to muggle-borns to purebloods. She's only ethnocentric in the way that she believes wizards are better than muggles. Judging by appearances is very low in her book.... judging by anything is low. But that doesn't mean she'll judge people who judge, everyone else can do whatever they want to do. Ella was treat everyone the same unless she is given a reason not to; she's not going to base anything off of rumours unless she absolutely thinks they're true.
Ella feigns confidence. She lacks confidence in certain things, like herself (she's lost faith in just about everything), but she believes in never revealing your weakness. Therefore, around most...if not all...... people, she carries herself confidently.... sometimes it's real confidence, and sometimes it's fake. Ella is also very independent... she was brought up in a way that demanded independence, therefore, she doesn't like leaning on others or asking for help... as that makes her feel weak.
The blonde is stubborn, she believes that she is always right. But everyone makes mistakes, and when she does, she usually blames it on someone else or makes an excuse. There are very few occasions on which she actually takes the blame for something. However, one odd thing about Ella is the fact that she's sensitive. The littlest thing can get to her, regardless of how bitchy she is... she usually doesn't show her sensitive side, she usually brushes off most insults... but they always remain in her mind and bother her for a bit....
Ella gets distracted very easily. It has something to do with her impatience...... she can't just do one thing, unless it's something that interests her. Therefore, this has caused multitasking to become a large part of her life. So has 'doing stuff.' Ella can't just sit down and read a book to occupy her time.... she needs to get out and actually do something, otherwise, she'll get really bored and actually start doing her schoolwork.
She can't stand for bullying. Since Ella is all for loyalty, she's not going to sit down and watch while one of her friends is being physically abused (or anyone else, for that matter). She'll step right up to the plate and defend whoever it is.... especially if it's physical abuse, such as a Slytherin hexing a first year..... but only if there aren't harsh consequences. She's not going to harm herself by trying to help a complete stranger. However, when Ella gets mad and is trying to solve things, she uses violence as opposed to 'talking it out' as that was what she learned from her father as a child.
Ella fears rejection, therefore, she does a numerous amount of things to 'fit in,' but she does stand out in some ways. Due to her parents, she has trust issues.... those have caused many of her relationships to fail, simply because she didn't put out (which is why she's trying to change herself- she's trying to do what others want her to do to be liked). Ella doesn't trust just anybody with her body and her true feelings... that's why she seems to be kind of bitchy at first... she's not comfortable with 'talking' about her feelings.
There's a reason why Ella was put in Slytherin. Her ambition. Ever since she started walking and seeing quidditch matches, she figured out her career.... a professional quidditch player. She's been practicing ever since she learned she could fly, simply because she wanted to be famous (like everyone else did at her age).... but she didn't grow out of it like everyone else. Ella still wants to play quidditch professionally, and is hoping for offers toward the end of her sixth year.
Another reason Ella was rightfully placed in Slytherin is because of her slight bitchiness. She has found that being mean to others tends to push them away, and prevent them from asking questions and such. Therefore, she's rude, cold, and insulting when she wants to be left alone.... or just if she's being annoyed.
Unfortunately, Ella doesn't take kindness that well. Having not experienced it that much in her life, she gets confused when complimented and such.... in fact, she sometimes feels a bit insulted... as if the person being kind is trying to make fun of her, which is why she sometimes starts to bitch at the other person.
Ella is often found staring off into space, daydreaming about something other than what she's doing. It's like she's lost in her own thoughts (as she's very confused with herself and others), but when someone else appears......it's back to bitch mode.
This soulless being:
quidditch, flying, cooking/baking, stories, her brother, babies, hugs, kisses, closeness, animals, stars, the moon, guys, the color blue, rain, the cold, sleeping, playing hide and seek or tag, finger painting, singing, music, attention.
Is just as lost:
odd numbers, lectures, her parents, alcohol, know-it-alls, suck-ups, show-offs, optimism, socks, bananas, spiders, running without an aim, the sun, muggles.
As everyone else:
baking, arithmancy, quick learner, determination, creating trouble, keeping her mouth shut
In a world that knows only hate:
procrastination, daydreaming, her work ethic (or lack of one), impatience, looking into someone's eyes, her sensitivity.
And causes pain for the soulless like me:
the abuse, lack of self-confidence, fear of bananas (o.o).
They left me to die:
None of importance.
On a bed of roses:
None of importance.
Blood seeping through:
Nathan Thomas was sent to jail, not only for being a Death Eater, but for child abuse as well.
The satin sheets of fame:
Richish.
What a bitter story of love:
Alice and Nathan met when they were at Hogwarts. They had been dating for quite a while, when all of a sudden (in their sixth year)..... Alicewas pregnant. Now, they could have easily gotten rid of the kid through an abortion... but they decided to keep the kid. Alice dropped out of Hogwarts upon completing her sixth year, to have her first child... Benjamin. Although both Alice's and Nathan's parents frowned upon the pregnancy, they did their best to be supportive. The first year was tough for Alice, as she was home with her parents while Nathan went on to finish his seventh year so he would have a better chance of obtaining a ministry job.
Now, both Nathan and Alice belonged to lines of purebloods. Both of them had similar beliefs, just as both families supported the Dark Lord. Upon graduating from Hogwarts, Nathan trained to become an Unspeakable.... and he also became a Death Eater. it was when he and his wife reached the age of nineteen that they found that they were to have another child. And so, Nathan proposed to his wife, and Ella was born.
Ella and Benjamin had a fairly normal childhood. Their mother stayed home with them until Ella turned three, which was when she went to work at Flourish and Blotts. During this time, Ella and Ben developed a close bond with each other (rather than the various babysitters they had).
The Thomas family moved to Wiltshire once the couple could afford their own house, a community mixed with magical and muggle families... one of their neighbors was actually a muggle... a single man, Edward Burr. He was an old friend of the family, and someone Ella thought she could rely on. She had often thought of him as an uncle, but perhaps it wasn't going to be that way. Edward Burr would visit the Thomas family many times in a month. He used to be the one who would play [muggle] games with them all the time, while their real father was busy with his own work as an Unspeakable. Nathan Thomas was rarely ever home, and even when he was, he wasn't talking to the rest of his family. His true intentions were made obvious right before Ella was to enter Hogwarts.... he ran away with her mother.
Alice had been cheating on her husband for a good amount of years now... it was unheard of... a pureblooded witch cheating on her Death Eater husband with a muggle, of all people. That really tore Nathan apart.... he became to drink more and more, and was rarely found at home. He would leave early in the morning and come back late at night. Her father had become abusive by the time she came home for her first holiday vacation. During the summers, Ella and Ben wandered to other countries... or anywhere outside of the house... they were rich, after all.
After a while, when Ella was in her third year, the Unspeakable was caught. Nathan Thomas had been slacking off of his duties, apparently, and the Minister of Magic wanted a word with him. After some questioning, he decided to bring in his kids and was shocked to realize they were out on their own. After a trial, and the discovery of a few scars(he had abused his daughter), Mr. Thomas was sent to Azkaban for life, as he was also found of being a Death Eater. And that was when Ben Thomas was named the guardian of his younger sister... as he was finally of age.
Ella started showing signs of magic at around age five, when she turned her older brother's hair bright pink. Anyways, Ella was delighted when she was accepted to Hogwarts, and was glad join her brother there. She wasn't that happy, however, when she found out that a lot of her friends would be going to Durmstrang. Ben helped his sister out, of course, but he didn't give up an opportunity to get his little sister in trouble. He soon became the Ravenclaw Prefect, followed by Head Boy. Unfortunately for Ella, this meant that she had to be very careful around him.
Ella wasn't that bad of a student.....depending on your definition of 'bad.' She'd skip class occasionally, but her work would usually be done, even if it wasn't acceptable. The girl bonded with the 'right' crowd from her first year, causing her school life to be quite a pleasant experience. Ella has done everything from being a complete bitch to half the school, to helping a first year she's quite fond of, learn how to fly. The situation with her father was never publicized, to her relief (although she was very quiet and reserved before he was sent to Azkaban), and she had a pretty normal school appearance. Now in her sixth year, she plans on studying to work in either Gringotts or possibly becoming a professional quidditch player. If she doesn't get offers by the end of her sixth year, she'll study hard to work in Gringotts.

[/blockquote]
Ella tried to look around to see which direction she should 'accio' the ball from, but all she could see was rain. She figured that the tennis ball was going to be on the ground, even if she had missed terribly. And so, she flew down so she was a few feet above the ground so she could scan the area for a large tennis ball. However, it was not a ball that she found on the ground, it was a person.... a very hot someone actually. He was clutching his shoulder, which Ella assumed had been hit with the tennis ball that she had thrown just a minute ago.
"Do you do this to everyone who comes on to the pitch when your practicing?" he asked.... well how the fuck was she supposed to know he was going to be there? Nobody was supposed to be outside in weather like this.... not that she was complaining, that guy was hot. Like her (click for outfit), he had chosen to wear a very limited amount of clothing (though he had dressed a bit warmer than her). He was wearing a jacket with nothing under it, and the best part was that it was completely unzipped. Rubbing her eyes, Ella moved her gaze from his chest to his face. Guys were not important now, only quidditch was.
The Slytherin knew exactly who this guy was. He was a Gryffindor in her year, and was therefore in some of his classes.... his name was Tobiathor T-painor Tony or something that started with a T. All Ella knew about him was that he slept around a tiny bit, not that she would judge him too much for that, because her best friend Gavin was the biggest sleaze in the school. Thankfully, the blonde had never fallen under his spell, and therefore, she didn't really know him too well. "Not really, you're just special." the blonde responded with a slight smirk on her lips. "Why were you around the goalposts anyway? While you were there, did you see if it would have gone in if it didn't hit you?" the Slytherin added in a more serious voice, hopping off her broom as she looked to see if she had hurt him too badly or not.
"But sorry.... are you hurt?" Ella asked him, waiting for him to take his hand off of his shoulder (she wasn't going to give him the wrong impression by doing so herself) so she could see if she had done something that could injure him for life. She did have a good arm, so she wouldn't be surprised if he would have to go the hospital wing.... he was just lucky she hadn't hit him in the face. Another crackle of thunder filled her ears, causing another wince from Ella (she didn't like sudden loud noises) before she wrapped her arms around herself to protect herself from the cold. She'd be better once she started flying, but she had to convince this other guy to help her practice (or to leave) so she could do so.
