As she looked into her eyes in the mirror before her, she saw nothing. No emotions, no life, just emptiness. She felt empty inside. Only a few things could fill her up with a false sense of joy anymore. The dark lord, who would never love her back, and hurting people. She got a sick sense of joy out of seeing other people in pain. It would help her numb the pain she felt daily. She remembered as a child she used to be so much more happy and everything in life was easy. Now, things were by far more complicated. She found herself wrapped up into a world of pureblooded perfection, lies and betrayal. Sure, she was usually the center of all that but she found it easier to put up a hard layer and block everyone out of her life and prevented anyone to know the real her.
Stepping back from the mirror, Bellatrix took in her appearance. Her dark hair, wild as it was, dangled to her shoulders as her piercing blue eyes took in her pale skin and short figure. She wore a slim black dress, as always. It wasn't very often that you saw Bellatrix wearing any colour. All her life she was groomed to be the perfect little lady. She was taught how to walk, how to sit, and how to act. Truth be told, Bellatrix hated it. She knew that she was never going to be the perfect little lady. She wanted to be a part of the action and fight, not sit on the sidelines and watch. She knew her power could be amounted to that of any man. Slowly she was breaking out of the typical pureblooded girl stereotype and showing people that she was a dangerous force to mess with. Her temper was short but she could still contain it, for now.
Today, she needed a drink. A nice, cold drink to help her relax. After all, she did work hard all the time. Even a woman as dedicated as Bellatrix needed a chance to sit back, relax and have a drink. Taking one final look at herself, Bellatrix exited her room and apparated to the Spider's Nest Inn. Located in Knockturn Alley, it was the perfect place for Bellatrix to relax without having to worry about running into any mudbloods or blood traitors.
Bellatrix entered the pub and took a seat at the bar. Her voice was cold as she ordered the strongest thing on the menu from the bartender. She sat there, her dark hair falling over her shoulders, not looking or saying a word to anyone else. She sipped her drink after she was handed it and sighed happily, loving the feeling of the liquid running down her esophagus. It didn't bother her that she was alone. She was used to it. Most people were scared of her and didn't dare to disturb her. She didn't mind it though. She liked being alone. Most people annoyed her anyways.

Dorcas stumbled into the pub. Yeah, she wasn't the most elegant of people and right now was no exception. She stood herself up a little straighter before wobbling a little. She leant against the closest table and snorted. Merlin that guy was weird! Then again, what else did she expect from someone she'd met in the Leaky? At least he'd bought her a substantial amount of drinks before she'd told him she totally wasn't interested in him or the three inch pimple he called a penis. Okay, so that may have been the wrong way to go but did he really think she would be interested in him? He was at least thirty-five, over weight, balding and smelt of cigarettes, alcohol and body oder. No one like her would ever be into someone like him. Unless he was exceedingly rich, which she figured he wasn't.
Making her way over to the bar of the Spider's Nest, Dorcas extended her hand out a little and got the attention of a very unattractive bar tender. Nevertheless Dorcas batted her eye lashes and smiled flirtatiously and got her drink. Hopefully it wasn't spiked but the bartender didn't really seem all that interested in her, not that she cared too much, she just enjoyed flirting with the guys.
Sitting her arse down on a stool Dorcas didn't look at the woman next to her, instead she swivveled her butt around as she heard the door come crashing open. Yeah, he was following her, as she'd expected but unlike him she had been able to sort of run. Sort of, she was a little on the tipsy side. Watching as he came storming over, Dorcas slipped off her stool and stood beside the woman she was next to, mainly because no one would give too much of a crap if a woman was dragged screaming and kicking out of this place to be raped, nor would they give too much of a crap if a big bloke got his arse kicked by a drunk little lady but still, Dorcas didn't always like to take the physically violent way but there was no chance in hell she was going to sleep with that giant dung beetle so casually, she grabbed the woman she'd been next to, turned the woman's seat around to face the bloke and gave the woman a kiss on the cheek.
"Look, sorry to disappoint you mate, but you're reeeeeeally not my type, okay?" The man went from looking angry to sort of terrified. Was it really upsetting that he thought she was a lesbian? Was he really that heartbroken over her? Dorcas didn't blame him, she was an absolute sex goddess after all, but little did Dorcas realise that the woman she had grabbed was Bellatrix Black. Slowly the guy backed up towards the door before running out of the place. Dorcas snorted and looked at the woman she'd semi-manhandled, not having a clue who she was. "Phew! You just saved my arse. Le'me get you a drink, what you having?"

Everyone thought that life for the Black sisters was easy. They had everything they ever wanted: Beauty, intelligence, money and power. However, the burden held on them was far greater than anyone else. Since they were not the sons that the Black family wanted, they were groomed for perfection and expected to hold a certain standing in society so they could get the perfect pureblood husband. Ever since she was small all Bellatrix heard her mother say was 'behave like a lady so you can get a perfect husband when you are older'. Truth was, she didn't even want to get married. Marriage was the thing that could domesticate a woman and make her forget all her dreams. Well, that was how Bella saw it. She was far too independent to be controlled by some common man. If anyone would control her it would be a man of great power. Power beyond anyone's control.
As she sat at the bar, she lightly sipped her drink as a feeling of relaxation flowed through her veins. Though Bellatrix like to always be on the go, it felt nice to be able to sit back and relax for a moment. She did love to always be on the go and have adventures but from time to time she needed a day to herself to sit around and clear her head. With every sip of the alcohol she took she felt a worry wash away from her body. She burden she held over her shoulders was immense and all she wanted was for this magical substance to relieve that burden slightly.
Her relaxation, however, was disrupted when a woman walked into the bar and sat down near her. Immediately Bellatrix was annoyed by this woman. She never really like other females. They were all so annoying and whiny. Bellatrix tried to ignore this woman but that became rather hard when suddenly she was kissed on the cheek by her. She sat in shock for a few moments, going over what had just happened in her head. Then, her shock turned into pure anger and disgust. No one touched Bellatrix like that without there being some kind of punishment happening. That poor woman, she wouldn't know what hit her.
"How dare you you even touch me like that. You vile slag. Do you know who I am?! I could destroy you," Bellatrix snarled, taking out her wand and pointing it at the woman. Her eyes glared daggers, unable to wrap her head around the fact that she was just violated like she was by this woman. Though it was just a kiss on the cheek, Bellatrix thought it was the end of the world. She could make the smallest thing turn into the biggest disaster, as she was doing now. If the woman knew what was good for her, she would leave now before Bella unleashed her fury.

Dorcas was sure as hell glad that creepy bastard was gone and she owed it all to the woman she'd manhandled. Hopefully the woman wasn't going to mind too much once Dorcas had got in a few rounds of drinks. Hell! The woman beside her could even end up becoming her new best buddy! Well, probably not. The Spider's Nest Inn wasn't really the best place to make new friends, especially in this day and age. Still, Dorcas was here and she wasn't all bad, maybe this woman was good enough and just in search of a little more solitude than the leaky cauldron had to offer.
Apparently this woman wasn't exactly the most cheerful of beings. In fact she had her wand out before Dorcas could even react to the woman's overreaction. Dorcas just shot her hands up, level to her face to show she was no threat before laughing softly and shaking her head. Merlin some people were up tight, but when you were in this particular pub, Dorcas supposed you didn't really want anyone touching you, you didn't know what their motives for doing so were. Still, Dorcas was going to try and relax the air a little. There was no need for this and she hoped she'd be able to sooth the other woman a little so that Dorcas still had a head at the end of the evening.
"Whoa there!" Dorcas lowered her hands back down and settled them on the bar and tried waving the bar keep over, however he looked weary to even take a step closer to the two women and Dorcas rolled her eyes. Her flirting with him wasn't that bad and if he was gay then why should he care if a woman was flirting with him? It could have been some good practice for picking up a guy. Yes, Dorcas still did not realise that everyone was trying to avoid the angry wrath of Bellatrix Black.
"Seriously, I'm not hitting on you or trying any sort of funny business. Just put your wand down and let me get you a drink, you just saved my arse from that fat slob, a drink or two is the least I could do for you, now, pick your poison." Dorcas tried waving the bar tender over again and he was still reluctant to budge from his spot. His eyes darted between Bella and Dorcas and for the life of her Dorcas couldn't understand why a bar keep would be such a sissy, especially in a place like this, surely they would have had to of handled plenty of situations just like this one where there was a wand out, pointed at another patron maybe he was straight and hoping for a fight between what were clearly the best looking females in the place. Sure it could be fun, but Dorcas drew the line at kissing on the lips with tongue, she just wasn't into women.

The fact that she had just been touched like that by some common woman sent waves of disgust through Bellatrix's body. She was not the type of person who liked to be touched. The girl was lucky that she still had her lips after invading Bellatrix's personal bubble. She had already once before tortured a man for merely putting a hand on her shoulder when she was in one of her terrible moods.
The thought that why was this girl still alive kept going through Bella's mind. The eldest Black sister just wasn't in her killing or harming moods at the moment. All she had came here for was a drink and nothing more. Besides, this could be a valuable person to the Dark Lord and without even finding out the woman's name she could be risking her rankings in the Death Eaters. That group was the only thing that Bellatrix held dear to her. She would never ever want to do or say anything to risk being thrown out or displease the Dark Lord.
"No one, and I mean no one, can touch me in the manner you just did under any circumstances. I don't care why you did it or even if your life was in danger. Touch me like that again and I will see to it that you will be nothing but a rotting corpse six feet under the ground. Understood?," Bellatrix spat out, her eyes glaring at the woman before her. She did not lower her wand in any way. She merely kept it pointed towards Dorcas and kept and extremely tight grip on it that turned her knuckles white. She hated to think that she was showing some sort of mercy towards this woman. Maybe after they left the pub she could toss a spell or two towards Dorcas' direction.
"Now, state your name, blood status and allegiance and maybe I won't kill you. Don't lie either because I will find out and personally track you down and make you feel a pain that is worse than death," Bellatrix demanded, her eyes never leaving the woman. The look she was giving alone would send any common person crying and running for their lives. It was a look of coldness, hatred and cruelty. No love or kindness barely ever passed through Bellatrix's looks. She turned her head over to look at the bartender, who clearly was terrified of her. She glared at him, then looked back down at her empty drink then back up at him. Like a bolt of lightening, the bartender quickly rushed over to where he stored the alcohol, picked up the brand Bella was drinking, rushed back over to Bellatrix's empty glass and refilled it. This made Bellatrix smirk to herself. She adored being feared by people. It made life so much more easier. Keeping her wand pointed at the woman, she took her free hand and lifted the drink, sniffed it for any signs of a potion or poison, then took a drink while turning her attention back to the woman.

Wow. Seriously? There was over reacting, and then there was overreacting and this woman certainly knew how to blow her lid on itty bitty, small, insignificant matters like some random woman kissing her cheek. Honestly Dorcas couldn't see what the overly big deal was all about. Of course she'd be a little miffed but then she'd be understanding, but she couldn't help it, from her point of view she was practically perfect and a people person and this woman was of course a people and Dorcas figured that maybe she might be able to do a little soothing of the savage beast that was ranting and raving right before her very eyes.
The woman's threat made Dorcas snort a little. Yes, snorting was a great way to make angry new friends, not. What Dorcas really wanted to do was tell her to un-bunch the clearly twisted panties in her vagina and calm the fuck down, however words were starting to escape her as the introduction stage was announced. Name, rank and party, of course, what more could she expect from someone in a place like this? Yes, Dorcas Meadowes was at her final calm straw with the woman in front of her but hopefully, she thought, she'd be able to keep her cool long enough to draw her wand before getting her head cleanly blown off.
Dorcas took the brief second the woman looked to the bar keep to rest her hands on her hips, her right hand close enough to grab her wand should she need to duck, roll and fight back against her new best buddy. "Oh goody! I was wondering when we were going to get to the introductions." Dorcas took a deep breath. "Well I'm Dorcas Meadowes, I'm a scorpio so that probably tells you a lot about my personality all ready, I like fine scotch and fine men and strolls through the forest."
The threat of pain if the woman decided Dorcas was lying was very real when a wand was pointed at your person by a crazy psycho bitch that was clearly exactly that. Still the threat seemed as real as real could be and so did the promise that the woman would be able to tell if Dorcas was lying and Dorcas had a hunch she'd know why. This woman was probably a mind read, or whatever they called it, occlumency or legilimency or whatever they were. She had no idea what they actually were as such but figured this woman probably had a good, strong background of it, either that or she was a human lie detector, still, Dorcas had no intentions of lying as such and she made sure that her mind was full of images of the guy she'd been served by last Hallowe'en, tall, blonde hair, light sea blue eyes. Rhage. Yes, Dorcas could never keep her mind clear but she could at least focus on something, or in this case someone, completely irrelevant in hope that it might work if such an invasive force of magic was used.
"My blood is all nice and red, generally a blood sort of red and as for allegiance, well, honestly I think the current Minister of Magic is doing a pretty good job but I can't see him staying much longer, I'd much rather Millicent Bagnold. What do you think?" Yeah, Dorcas knew she was asking for it but she was almost ready for a bit of a fight, unless this woman's attitude changed abruptly Dorcas could only see this ending in one of two ways. One of them dead with the bar on fire, or one of them running away with the bar probably on fire.
