Let me tell you, a little something about myself[/color]
Poppy was a quiet little thing from the very beginning. She wasn't loud, and she wasn't the brightest. She was never really good at anything in the world. She was raised by muggles and she was the second daughter of two, the younger sister of Marigold for her green thumb of a mother Mary Ellen and her carpenter father, Richard Pomfrey. She was born in the last 1930's, though she refuses to disclose the year due to sensitivities with her age, but she is now in about her mid thirties.
It wasn't until she was about nine that she showed any sign of being different. She was at the swing set with her sister, and her sister fell from the top of the slide and broke her leg. But when her parents got over to help Marigold, Poppy had already gotten over to her and healed her, accidentally. She hadn't meant to, but her parents knew that Marigold wasn't okay. She still went into shock and they had to take her to the hospital, but Poppy helped her sister out whether she believed it or not.
When she was around the age of eleven, a professor at the school showed up at her door. He came in and explained what Poppy was to her parents and her parents hated it. Her parents were very traditional, and they had always known that their daughter was different but they didn't know it was this different. At first they didn't believe the professor. Then they got upset, saying their daughter was an abomination and if this was actually true, they didn't want her living in their house anymore. From then on, Poppy lived iwth her aunt, a widow who was in love with cats and had little room for a child in her life. She was happy to know she would only have to take care of Poppy in the summer.
Hogwarts became Poppy's true home. After seven years of hiding there, she was not ready to let go of it. She spent her years with the Gryffindor's, though hiding in the background. She was a quiet, reserved one, and she didn't share anything about her back life, except with professors, who she seemed confident in confiding in. She was always very mature for her age. There were small things that she particularly excelled at, Potions and Healing spells in particular. After she graduated from Hogwarts, she went off to become a healer, and after five years, she returned, asking the Headmaster for a job as hospital wing matron. She was an apprentice for a while, but when the witch before her finally decided to retire, she was happy to give the position to Poppy. Poppy has been the nurse at Hogwarts for six years now.
