Alastor woke up with the smell of oak-matured mead in the air. He rolled over onto his back and rubbed his eyes, reaching up to stretch. He accidentally hit one of the posters of his four poster bed and as he pulled his hand back, a bra that was hanging onto that poster fell into his hand. He looked at it for a moment. It was maroon and gold, the Gryffindor colours, and very lacy. He smirked and threw it under his bed, sitting up. Apparently he had a very good night last night, though according to the oak-matured mead bottles under the bed, he couldn't remember it.
Pulling the sheet off of him, he stood up and walked over to his trunk to pull out a pair of trousers and a bright red long sleeved shirt. He rubbed his recently buzzed blonde hair and yawned. His hair felt like carpet. He wasn't quite sure if he liked it yet or not. It may have been the weekend, but he had to finish his Charms essay at some point today. There was no way that he would do it tomorrow, whether he wished to or not. He was always the biggest procrastinator. Besides, the Quidditch team practiced on Sundays.
He grabbed his Charms book and some parchment and ink and headed down toward the commons. He wanted to sit by the fire and work, hopefully in peace. As he sat down on the floor, he stretched on of his legs out. He unwrapped some of his parchment and pulled out a quill, uncapping his spell check ink. He scrawled on the top of the parchement Fidelius Charm by Alastor McLaggen He then sighed. That was about all he knew. He really wanted to go back to bed. Even sitting in Care of Magical Creatures class would've been better than essay writing at this point.

Serena was searching frantically for a piece of parchment. It seemed to be all that she ever thought about these days. It was a little book that she was writing and she was forever losing pieces of it and paranoid it would fall into the wrong hands, so at the crack of dawn Serena had gotten out of bed and checked out the library. There was nothing there and nor was there anything in the great hall. She was sure that if it had been left somewhere obvious and found by the house elves that they would have returned it or placed it in lost property but Serena was not game enough to wake Filch now or try and sneak into his office as she knew he would be most displeased.
Running through the castle proved fruitless but at least there was no one up to see her other than the occasional portrait and ghost. The only place she had to look now was the common room. She had checked there the night before but her brain had been all fuzzy and she had been unable to think clearly. Now however she was very much awake and starting to really panic. If anyone read her parchment she had no idea what she would do. What if somebody already had she thought to herself as she gave the Hufflepuff common room password and entered. It didn't matter if someone had already read it she thought because they wouldn't know it was hers.
Glancing quickly around the common room she didn't see Alastor as he was hidden by the sofa in front of the fire, however, on top of the fire place on its mantle piece she spotted a loose piece of parchment weighed down by a candle stick. She quickly ran over with her eyes fixed on the parchment. Maybe she had left it in a weird place in the common room and the house elves had placed it there for her. Oh how she hoped so.
Turning at the end of the corner Serena had eyes only for the parchment and unfortunately didn't notice Alastor almost beneath her until it was too late. The little Irish girl tripped over his thigh and tried preventing herself from falling by trying to go back the other way and grabbing onto thin air. However this plan failed quite epically as the air just passed through her fingers and around her hand.
With a thud Serena found herself in Alastor's lap. There had been a rip of parchment and Serena was absolutely mortified. "Oh! Oh! Oh!" Was about all she could manage in the way of words and that was her attempt of an apology as she wiggled and eventually had to roll out of his lap in order to get off of him. She quickly stood up and grabbed the parchment she'd been after and checked it. Yes, it was hers. With a wave of relief she then tensed up, remembering she had just made herself into a fool.
"I'm so sorry Alastor." She said softly, her cheeks an almighty red as she blushed. "I hadn't seen you there." She stated rather panically and then she noticed his jeans and his parchment. "Oh, oh did I tear your trousers and homework? I'm so sorry, I can fix them." She said pulling out her wand and then folding up her own piece of parchment.

By the time he even had come up with another thought for his essay, he was out, and he was leaning against his arms, which were on top of the parchment on the desk. His legs were sprawled out in this contorted way so that he was still sitting on his ass, but his head was somehow buried in his arms. Anyone else would've found him mental to find this comfortable enough to fall asleep. But he was really tired. He must not have gotten a whole lot of sleep last night. How that Gryffindor girl got up to the Boy's dormitory was a feat all on its own, and he wished he could congratulate her, if only he could remember who she was. Oh well.
It was then that a girl had fallen into his lap, like an angel fallen from God. It startled him awake and he ripped his arms off from the table, ripping his parchment in the process. His arms flew out, unknowing what to do with himself. He took in the scene in which he had just awoken to. There was a girl that he recognized, Serena? Selena? ...something like that, on his lap, and his half-assed attempt to write an essay was ripped in half, as if he was actually going to write anything. "Oh! Oh! Oh!" She shrieked, looking embarrassed and startled. Alastor thought that he would just go with it. "Well, hello love. How can I help you today?" He wrapped one of his arms around her shoulder, but she jumped up at the chance, and his arm fell back toward the floor. He smirked up at her. She was fussing with herself and the parchment in which she had come over here for. "I'm so sorry Alastor." She spoke softly and her tone was very airy and flowy, like wind. Like speaking was as easy as breathing. His smirk grew a bit. She knew his name. He knew that he was a bit well known throughout Hogwarts for being a player, but he thought that he had only seen Serena once or twice, from what he could remember. Her cheeks were flushed. That earned an outright grin from Alastor "I hadn't seen you there." Well, he was sleeping. "Oh, oh did I tear your trousers and homework? I'm so sorry, I can fix them." He then reached over the rip in his pants and put one hand up to stop her. "No!" He burst out. These were his favorite pants, and the rip was part of that reason. He then spoke a little bit softer and more smooth, like syrup. "The pants were already like this, and the parchment isn't worth saving. I had only just started." He then looked up at the parchment she had in her own hand. "What's that?" He said, grabbing the parchment out of her hands, but not yet opening it. It was half out of curiosity and half teasing that he took it. TAGS: serena WORD COUNT: ? OUTFIT: link here.MUSIC: ? NOTES: ? LYRICS: hello seattle - owl city. CREDIT: julieanne @ caution 2.0

The more she flustered the more Alastor seemed to enjoy her discomfort. Serena wasn't completely sure what to do with herself and tugged at her top, pulling it down a little as though still recovering from her fall as if it had messed her outfit up a little but in all reality the least of Serena's worries right now was how she looked and more about why Alastor felt the need to now be grinning at her. Had she fallen into something other than his lap? A drink or something perhaps? She didn't feel wet.
"You like your pants ripped?" She said very softly and almost completely to herself in case it was an entirely ridiculous question to be asking. Serena wasn't quite a follower of fashion. She always thought she looked okay enough to go out but she didn't understand wearing torn clothing or things with paint spatter or stains as it all just seemed a little bizarre to her.
Before she could put her piece of folded parchment away in her pocket, Alastor had grabbed it and Serena felt as though her heart skipped a beat in fear. She really hoped that he did not open it and take a read for she would be most embarrassed if anyone read what she had started writing for a book.
"Oh please don't look at that! It's a part of a book I've sort of been trying to write. It's silly nonsense really but I really would like it if you didn't look." Serena was most nervous and clasped had her hands clasped together, rubbing a little as though trying to remember the feel of the parchment would make it come back to her but she was in no such magical luck even though she wished she was.
