Flick of the wrist and you're dead baby Blow him a kiss and you're mad Flick of the wrist - he'll eat your heart out A dig in the ribs and then a kick in the head - QueenTo be very honest, Kat had never really celebrated Halloween before. He had looked up what sort of a festival it was supposed to be before he came to Britain, but hadn't been able to remember much more than 'originally Celtic feast, something with death and, eh, dressing up'. Luckily, Lena had been able to help him out, explaining to him what it the whole thing was about here, at Hogwarts. It was all about partying, of course, and dancing. Not much was left of the origins, but then again - what did you expect of a bunch of teenagers? Luckily for Kat, Lena had even helped him pick a costume - a jester. He had no fashion sense, even less for an occasion like this because he had had no idea what to aim for. Sure, what he had now wasn't very mature, but then again.. everyone was going to be dressed up, weren't they? And Katsurou did like joking around, so that matched his personality at least. As he walked into the Three Broomsticks at ten minutes past eight (it had been open since eight o'clock), he noticed how well the decorating had been done. There were spiderwebs with what appeared to be real giant spiders, charmed to move to the music. Pumpkins were all over the place, lighted in different colours, some floating, others lighting a few dark corners here and there. There were several tables scattered throughout the room (some with glasses (charmed to be unbreakable of course) and 'steaming' cauldrons from which cold alcohol-free punch was served), but there was also a more than respectable dance floor that Kat was, personally, rather psyched about. He had no idea what sort of wizarding bands Britain sported at the moment, but he'd heard that a band called 'Banshees and Pixies' would provide some entertainment tonight. Then again, he'd heard whispers in the hallway - some students apparently wouldn't be surprised if Dumbledore allowed some muggle music to be preformed. A statement against Voldemort, or so some said. Kat didn't care that much, as long as it had beat, he would dance to it. There were already some students around, dancing, drinking, or waiting for dates. Katsurou hadn't even thought about a date. He'd just assumed he'd share some dances with Lena and otherwise have fun. Comments: Let's party and everyone in school's invited!

Costume: Indian princesstattooTagged: Everyone For everyone at Hogwarts, Halloween was a pretty important thing. Everyone looked forward to it and the huge party, and various smaller parties that would accompany it. Lena had already bought her costume over summer break so it would be ready for when Halloween came around and, as she looked at it on its hanger, she couldn’t help but think that either this would look really really good, or people would look at her like she was insane. Well, there was only one way to find out. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly as she set down her bath things from the shower she had just taken, and started to get dressed. The skirt on her costume came first and she was careful as she slid the velvet fabric up over her legs and settled it low on her hips, where it was to go. Then she wrapped the gold belt for the skirt around her hips and smiled slightly as the coins on it jingled gently as she moved. Then she had to do her hair, standing in front of the mirror in the bottom half of her costume, and a strapless bra on. Her hair was furiously straightened with a spell then pulled up into a high ponytail on the back of her head, using a gold band to wrap around the ponytail to hold it in place. With the hair finished she pulled on the velvet one armed top, settling it over her body, studying its effect of showing off her entire belly including her tattoo. Well, she had worn less at Remus’ birthday party earlier that year so she couldn’t really complain. A gold band was slid up her bare upper arm so it had something there. A gold anklet that jingled as well, was put on her right ankle and a simple gold chain was slid around her neck. The only things left was the makeup that she used to highlight her eyes, making them smoky, and place the tiny ruby jewel to the center of her forehead.
Lena walked into the sandals she would need to wear with the costume and finally she was ready. The skirt swirled around her legs, showing off her ankle when she moved slightly, the red looking vibrant against her skin. Her robes were pulled on quickly before she left the dorm so no one would see her as the Indian princess she was that night, until she got to the party.
Once to the Three Broomsticks, she slid her robe off and looked around, hoping to recognize someone she knew. Those in the Gryffindor house knew of her tattoo, but not many others did. And she had allowed it to continue the movement that had been spelled into the tattoo when she got it, jumping from its starting place at her belly button, over her skin, to land on a place at her back, then jump back to its starting place. Lena finally spotted the Jester, otherwise known as Kat, and hurried over to him. “You look fantastic!” she said with a grin. “You’re very lucky I helped you find that one. The girls will love it.”

Katsurou had been a little uncomfortable in his costume at first, not used to costumes much. Well. He wore them for dancing, sometimes, but at least then they had purpose and this just seemed silly. Oh well, he liked being silly. This had really been the best option. There had also been jester-outfits that looked more sinister and although Kat didn't mind horror or humor combined, he hadn't wanted to wear those. This was fine.
As the clock ticked on, the Three Broomsticks filled up with students. Lena had told him Halloween was a major thing here, but he hadn't expected it to be this major - he had even seen a couple of second years sneaking in (and they were actually not supposed to be there, but for Halloween the staff was prepared to turn a blind eye as long as nothing inappropriate happened). He was already dancing as Lena came in. What? You expected someone like Kat to stand on the sidelines and wait as though she was his date? Well, she wasn't, and it was a well-known fact that Katsurou couldn't stand still when a decent beat was played anyway. Not much later, though, he saw Lena approach and grinned. “You look fantastic!” He laughed a little, shrugging - she looked much better, in his humble opinion. Kat was trying to construct a compliment without sounding too teasing, as he really thought she looked pretty awesome. “You’re very lucky I helped you find that one. The girls will love it.” He stuck his tongue out at her. "I'm forever in your debt, indeed." Taking Lena's hand for a moment, he spun her around, making her costume twirl around her. "You look amazing," he said with a grin, nodding in approval. "In fact, I think I might as well have worn my usual clothes, no one'll notice me now." He half pouted but then grinned and winked. He hadn't noticed her tattoo yet, simply because - well, it's rude to stare at your half-naked lady friend, isn't it? "Can I get you a drink?" he asked, instead.

With a sigh, Remus pushed the door to the Three Broomsticks open. He was by himself, no doubt his friends were somewhere preparing a classic halloween prank like they did every year, but Remus was not a part of it this year. Which was what he wanted, it wasn't like they hadn't asked them - Remus had simply declined. He wasn't even sure why and even now he was doubting his decision, but he simply hadn't been sure. He was too afraid to fall back into that careless behaviour of the past few years and hadn't that incident that had happened last year shown them all how dangerous carelessness could be? He sometimes wondered if his friends were aware of the actual impact it had had on him - not so much the incident itsself but the realisation that Remus had already wanted to forgive them after a day. He swallowed, getting himself a drink and sitting down on a chair near the wall. Was he really so weak, so dependent on his friends? If this act of betrayal was so quickly forgotten by him, if he so desperately wanted to belong.. - that couldn't be healthy. He needed to think.
Unfortunately, he also needed to be present at the Halloween Party. Remus had wanted to skip it this year, but hey - he was a prefect, he was supposed to be there, at least for a part of the evening, to make sure things didn't go completely wrong. Which they probably would, anyway, if it was up to his friends. Uncomfortably, he tugged on his collar. Remus was dressed up as an army lieutenant, simply because that meant he could use part of his school uniform as clothes. He wore the trousers and had simply changed the colours of the blouse and tie. Most of his costume was transfigured, in fact - like last year (because this wasn't the first time he used his uniform to create a makeshift costume). The benefits were that it was comfortable, although Remus had to admit that he would soon undo the top button - he didn't even wear it like that in class and along with the heat in the Three Broomsticks, it was a little stifling. He sat back a little and watched other people's costumes, watched other people dance - pretended to be waiting for something while he really wasn't. Remus didn't expect anyone, anyway: he hadn't asked anyone.
There was still no sign of his friends, either. Then again.. they tended to like being 'fashionably late'. No sign of Rosmerta either - would Sirius had used his charms on her to get her in on whatever joke they were planning? Despite not being a part of it, Remus could feel the familiar nervous feeling in the bottom of his stomach. The rush of adrenaline that always preceded a prank, a feeling that was suspiciously like free-falling blissfully. Maybe he should find them and just join them.

Serena was most uncomfortable in her outfit. Her older sister had dressed her up and demanded she went to the halloween party in the village. It was a student body affair and Serena had been told by her siblings that she needed to be more social but she had been making some great progress this school year compared to the previous ones. This year she had met Kat and talked properly with Remus for the first time. Quite a step forward she had thought but not big enough for her sisters liking.
Serena was clinging onto her cape as she walked down from the castle. The wind was cold and she hoped that the pub was all nice and warm inside. When she reached the pub she saw that many people were all ready there and she realised that she was completely unfamiliar with what to do. This was the first Hogwarts social event that she had attended other than the start of term feast but at least for that she didn't have to dress up. Tonight she was Red riding hood as the story was originally told with Red getting killed by the wolf so she was a zombie Red riding hood in tattered clothes that she assumed were supposed to have been torn at by the wolf.
Shuffling into a corner Serena started to pull her skirt down a little. At lest it was longer than the one her sister had originally intended on her wearing and at least she had tights (even if they were shredded and showed a fair bit of her legs). But she still felt uncomfortable but that was something she was hoping would go away after she'd been there a while and got used to everything. Maybe she'd even make a new friend and at least it was considerably warmer than outside.

Comment: The outfitHe had been planning this outfit for months, ever since one of the guys had called him an ass on one of their unofficial traditional nights out on the first sunday of every month. Frank had taken the comment into consideration and bet each of the 5 guys there that he would dress up as an ass of the animal kind for the halloween party so here he was. He had what he considered an amazing donkey suit that was supposed to be for two people only his second had backed out in exchange for going as a knight for his girl friend, Frank couldn't blame him if he had a girl friend he would have back out to if given an opportunity like that, as it was he was alone, in a two man donkey suit walking through Hogsmeade on his way the the annual halloween party; the back legs of his donkey suit where trailing sadly behind him as he moved, he had charmed them to float but that had gotten annoying quickly as the head of his suit had refused to stay down unless he held it with both hands. Still regardless he moved onwards his thoughts on the 25 galleons he would be the richer at the end of the night and if he was lucky there would be someone at this party who had left it too late to find a costume and wouldn't mind being Frank's ass in his ass suit...he grinned to himself at the pun. _ The pub looked amazing, as he knew it would as it was every year no matter who planned the decorations. Glancing around Frank spotted a few people he knew including Remus, the guy had been a bit down recently Frank had noticed though he hadn't had the time to talk nicely with his friend until now, even if it was at a party the Remus he knew wouldn't say no to a few drinks and a good time no matter what was making him down. Holding the head of his donkey suit down over his face Frank moved quickly to his fellow gryffindor, he was planning to come up behind the other boy without him noicing, a task he had yet to complete but had turned into something of a game for Frank, no matter how many times the other marauders told him it was impossible and to “just pay up already!“ he refused to loose 20 galleons just on one guys luck at having invisible eyes behind his head; because thats what Frank thought it was, what other reason could there be? Grinning behind his donkey head Frank moved quickly around the table until he was standing directly behind the distracted boy, holding his breath he considered how he should go this time, was it to be a jump and grab or a loud shout int he ear. As he considered his options Frank moved slowly toward the other his hands now held up over his head ready to grab Remus by the shoulders.

Sipping his drink, Remus watched more students enter. He spotted Serena and smiled briefly at her, though he wasn't quite sure if she had seen him. He wouldn't be surprised if she hadn't, as his costume wasn't one that drew much attention like some of the colourful and extravagant things that passed before him. Somehow, students always managed to find even better costumes than they had last year. How did they do that? As it got later, it got more crowded and the volume of the music picked up considerately and, to be honest, despite being here more for Prefect duties than for immediate fun, Remus was not very observant - hence why had didn't notice Frank sneaking up on him. In truth, he should've noticed someone in a huge donkey suit, but he didn't. Of course, usually, there were four of them and there would be someone to notice Frank trying to win their little game (usually either Remus or Peter, as James and Sirius could get a little caught up in their schemes sometimes) and now Remus was on his own. Had the environment been still and had there not been many people, sounds, smells, etcetera, he would've noticed Frank, probably, but the room was crowded and, as observed before, he was not at all on his guard. [Short, I know, but I want to give Frank this opportunity! ]

Post by Walden Conall Macnair on Mar 16, 2011 23:55:06 GMT 1
Walden Macnair was never one to pass up a party. Even if it meant missing something importance, he invariably found the promise of loud music, alcohol and girls in skimpy outfits - as well as the possibility of getting involved in a drunken brawl at the end of the night - far too hard to resist. It was completely irresistible when it came to Halloween parties. Screw NEWT's, Halloween was the highlight of the Wizarding teenagers calenders, and if not, then they didn't deserve to call themselves a Wizarding teenager in the first place. In other words, Walden was very eager to attend the Halloween party in the Three Broomsticks. His costume, even if he did say so himself, was an inspired choice. He should get an award just for his costume, Wally thought to himself as he wandered down the cobbled streets towards the pub. He wondered if they would be giving out awards. At a party he had been to the Summer before with Mulciber, the best dressed person had been awarded a litre bottle of twenty year old Firewhiskey. That had been a fix, definitely. Walden had been the best dressed for sure. As he was tonight. It was testament also to how eager he was to attend the party that Walden was earlier than he usually would have gone to parties. He usually liked to arrive.. what was it called? Oh yeah, "fashionably late" and wildly drunk already, with Mulciber in tow. This usually got the party mood going, or at least, so they thought. He liked parties best when they were packed, drunk and sweaty. But today, he had decided to get ready without his best mate, and with a small bottle of vodka tucked into the pocket of his costume, Walden was at the party, raring to go, by half past eight. He worried that it would make him look less cool than usual as he made his way to the entrance of the pub ... But no, surely not. Halloween was so importance. He was sure it'd be packed. So, as Walden entered the pub, grinning slightly in anticipation, he spied the empty spaces between party-goers and his face fell immediately. Students were arriving, but only just, and in a small trickle. Wally 'hmphd' impatiently, and made his way immediately to the bar to order a Firewhiskey to get going. Nodding to the barman, he passed him a fairly meagre tip (he tended to get wildly generous at the bar when drunk, mostly to show off to the ladies- but he was not drunk yet), and turned to lean his back against the bar, surveying the party as he sipped his drink. Disappointingly, there wasn't much talent to speak of yet. He let his eyes linger momentarily over a rather sexy but timid looking zombie .. red thief? Whatever she was, she looked nice, and he nodded to her, over the top of his drink. But it was the only highlight of the party thus far - could it even be called a party? Were was the dancing? The debauchery!?

Costume: Indian princesstattooTagged: Everyone Lena grinned in amusement as he stuck his tongue out at her. She hadn’t been surprised to find him on the dance floor as that was where he always was anyway when they had gone anywhere that had music in their little tour of London. Kat just was a dance fiend and it was always great to see him out there. He was actually a really good dancer, she knew from experience. She gasped and laughed as he spun her around, the skirt of her outfit swirling around her legs. “You’re already forever in my debt. I don’t know how much more in debt you can get,” she said with a teasing smile before turning back to him and gently landed against him while leaning up to press a kiss to his cheek. “Thank you. It took me forever to find this. And nah, you really do look good. No usual clothes for you, Sir Katsurou.” Lena twirled away from him a foot to stand before him, not paying attention to the shooting star moving across her skin as one hand set on her hip while she shrugged. “A drink sounds good, thank you.”
She looked around as more people started arriving and when she saw Remus she grinned brightly and waved to her best friend but left him over there, having noticed Frank trying to sneak up behind him. Lena wouldn’t interrupt their fun. She noticed a girl in a cut up Red Riding Hood outfit and raised an eyebrow slightly, surprised at the costume but thinking it was actually well done. That was when she noticed Macnair walk in and suddenly she paused and quickly looked around again to make sure Mulciber wasn’t there. If he showed up….she would have to run. Lena remembered very vividly what Mulciber had done to her, along with his threat. But…maybe he wouldn’t show.

'this is going to be great Frank just jump. We could easily jump over his head and land on the other side of the table' Now any person with a small amount of logic would say this idea was impossible, to leap frog over a sitting, unexpected guy and land on a table of glasses in a donkey suit...it couldn't be a happy ending even if he had practiced the move he had in mind right now. With a deep breath in, a small laugh escaped but Frank had his mind set now, he was vaulting over Remus Lupin of the guys shoulders and he would land safely on two feet on the table in front of his friend.
His donkey head had by now popped up behind him but he paid it no mind, he would need a bit of a running jump for this and he was almost directly behind Remus now. 'I can make it. I little jump before I push off his shoulders and i'll get high enough' Nodding to himself Frank hopped back on one foot before charging up behind Remus, a little skip before he pushing himself forward, his hands out ready to push off Remus's shoulders. And amazingly enough he made it! I know Frank didn't really expect it to work either not matter how well he convinced himself it would but with a quick push down he was flipping over Remus's head; his two empty donkey legs flapping up to whack Remus in the head as he went round but Frank wasn't focused on that now....he had to some how land and land well because it would seem his aerobics had caught a few peoples attention.
It was some kind of twisted karma that had his donkey head flop closed now, while he was flipping himself over to hopefully stand. Not surprising he didn't land one his feet. With his view of the table hindered it was time for another leap of faith and that was aiming for the floor in front of the table...it was still possible. In the 0.23 seconds it took for him to consider what to do Frank didn't realised that he was still flipping. He did notice though when his back slapped against the unforgiving table top. His head resting closer to Remus crotch than he had ever thought he would be and there was a growing wet patch under him...“Ahh, pain“ He whimpered before letting his body relax; he had messed up his stunt and a table of drinks, he might as well take a minute. Its exhausting work being a walking train wreck

Remus was still happily oblivious, but had someone else been Frank's victim and had Frank told him what he was about to do - well, he would've told him the only outcome could be disaster. And he would be right. Yet, Remus was the victim and he didn't know. So all there's left is to see what did happen. There is no denying that he heard Frank, just before the other Gryffindor put his hands on his shoulders to push himself off and over him - but he noticed too late, there was nothing he could do, there was too little time and he was too surprised. All Remus did before Frank Longbottom leaped over his head was elicit a short cry of surpise and cringe slightly - not that it stopped the donkey's legs from hitting him in the head though. (However, Remus didn't now it were donkey's legs, yet - it was all going a little too fast.)
As Frank was 'landing' (read: 'falling'), he still couldn't distinguish who it was, exactly, though he had a hunch (as Frank had tried to do similar things before), all he saw, at first, was a tangled donkey suit and a heap of young man lying among the ruins of a table - and all that just a little too close to his private bits for comfort. "Circe's tits," he muttered, pushing his chair backwards as he recognised Frank and tried to roll his eyes as nonchalantly as he could (very aware of the audience of students by now). Holding out a hand to his friend to help him up, he grinned a little - he couldn't deny he was amused, even if the blush of slight embarrassment and surprise was unwilling to die down. "You had me there, mate." That's right. Talk it off, it was just a joke, everyone would resume dancing soon.
Luckily, Remus was right. Everyone did go back to dancing and drinking soon enough, leaving Remus to pick up Frank and mutter a few spells to get rid of the worst mess (it was no use cleaning it all up, they all knew the place would be a battlefield by the time the last student left). "You certainly deserve a drink for that. Merlin, I need a drink, I think you just took five years off my life!" he joked, handing Frank an empty cup, also picking up one for himself, and walking over to a table that actually had drinks on it.

'Oh well done Frank, not only did you get unknown liquids on your RENTED donkey suit but you managed to win the bet....Oh shut it you! The idea was awesome!...Sure was. The execution of the idea is what let us down... But we won! I'm 30 galleons richer!!!' Grabbing the hand offered him Frank couldn't stop his silly grin from showing, especially when he noticed that Remus had (thankfully) seen the amusement value in this situation. But then he hadn't expected Remus to react any other way, there had been worse ending to a few of Franks attempts to sneak up on the other guy. One
time in particular had started Frank dressed up as a tree and ending with the both of them spending a night in the hospital wing after a painful trip down 3 flights of stairs (I feel the need to mention that it was the last flight of stairs that lead them to the hospital wing; the stair chose to move as they reached the end and they dropped two floors wrapped in the branches of Franks 'disguise')
Letting Remus pull him up from the table Frank offered the people around them a wonderful view of his back teeth as he laughed out loud "Yeah I got you" He laughed "Only took my 3 years too!" Sliding himself off the table top Frank expertly ignored the broken glass and liquids that came off with him. Accepting the empty glass with a bow Frank followed beside Remus toward a cleaner table (his empty donkey legs trialling behind him once more left a wet trail across the room now.)
"It was ingenious" He admitted with a breathy chuckle, reaching for a jug of what at on point could have been called pumpkin juice but had probably been spiked so many times, one sip would loosen his tongue to the point that he would likely be telling the story about him and Joe Gregerson of Hufflepuff again and laugh about it. He didn't mind so much though, everyone had become used to Franks complete lack of alcohol tolerance by now.

[Ack! I completely forgot about this - a thousand apologies!]
Rented donkey suit or not - Remus would have to agree it had been a pretty awesome trick (also pretty risqué, but awesome). Besides, if they couldn't find a spell which would get the stains out completely, Remus was quite sure that he'd be able to find another spell that would mask them, instead. Not very fair to the shop that rented out the suits, but hey - he could be an irresponsible teenager sometimes. Frank was grinning and Remus found it hylarious, then again - it was quite a feat creeping up on him and surprising him like that. His friend had a good reason to be proud. "You'll have to go to James or Sirius to pay up, though," he said, guessing the other young man's thoughts. "I'm afraid I couldn't even pay you a thirtieth of the amount." He grinned back at Frank slightly and sipped his drink. Already spiked - how had he not noticed that, his friends were getting better and better at stealthy things. "Yeah I got you! Only took my 3 years too!" Remus grinned. "I'm glad you finally managed, you were running out of disguises," he joked.
Muttering a cleaning spell, Remus pointed his wand at Frank in general. It wouldn't get everything off, but it would help with the worst of it, anyway. They could look at the real damage later. For now, Frank was at least no longer wet and sticky, even if he smelt faintly of punch. Sitting down, Remus leaned back in his chair and relaxed. The commotion was over and their fellow-students were going back to their own dancing and drinking. Frank still seemed to be oozing his victory, however - no surprise there, plus he did have a reason to be proud of himself. "It was ingenious." Remus nodded. "That is was. What's even more ingenious, is how you somehow managed to show up as half a donkey," he teased.
