This was it... The night she'd been waiting an uncomfortable amount of years for. Frank Longbottom was taking HER out on a date. In truth Alice hadn't been on many dates. Not many as in none. But she'd seen it done in books and on television. And lots of the kids she knew went on dates. Well, she wasn't sure she'd call what Dorcas did on weekends 'Dating' but it was...something. Never the less Alice was beyond thrilled about this special night and had spent the better part of the afternoon spazing out over what hair ribbon to wear. And in the end a pretty set of pins caught her eye as she scanned her jewelry and she tossed the hair ribbon thoughts away. Spending the next hour two hours, fidgeting around through all her dresses, Alice nearly thought she wouldn't be five minutes early as she always was for nearly everything. But she had finally dressed and gone down stairs to the street. Her time back here was almost up. She had to go back to London on Monday. Back to the ministry. Back to being .... a tea tray girl. There was nothing special about Tea Tray Alice. She was dull! She ran errands and was not the type of girl to go on talking to boys or going on dates. Tea Tray Alice kept her ever loving mouth shut at all times because the men she worked with scared the crap out of her. Not that she was a coward. Some of them were just unfriendly people at which to say "One lump or two?" And all were a little intimidating. Not to mention, Tea Tray Alice didn't get to see Frank. Oh she was going to hate telling him about this. She wasn't even sure where he was taking her, and though Alice thought better of it as Hogsmead had a few poorly lit ally ways she was sure she didn't want to venture down, she had agreed to meet him just outside the three broomsticks where she had been staying. Thank god it hadn't been further down by the Hogs Head. She swore if he brought her there, she'd probably...Well she'd probably be a total doll about the entire thing and sit politely through the date just counting the time until they could leave. She always imagined it was rather dirty inside. And that Echoes' girl was known to hang around there. Not a drunk Alice was exactly looking forward to meeting. As the air grew crisper, Alice looked at the clock through the window. She'd been out here nearly fifteen minutes. Realizing that Frank would be smart enough to look inside for her, Alice turned back in and sat next to the window. Madam Rosmerta was nice enough to bring her a hot chocolate while she waited. Where was he? She'd said 7:30 sharp in her owl... Perhaps he wanted to look perfect for her. Yes, she supposed that was it. Word count: 515 Tags: Frank! He had been through this before, his panic and naked run though the halls of Hogwarts this morning had been a false alarm. Turns out that the evil guys in his dorm that he called friends had thought it would be funny to change all the clocks in the common room to make him think he was late. 12 hours he had been ready after having an almost break down on the entrance hall all over a guy he had only met that morning. Lucky the guy didn't mind so much, or he didn't seem to. As far as Frank was concerned; if the guy still wanted to talk with him after he had seen him naked and in one of his usual messes than he could handle him any other time and they were sure to get along superbly.
He had left Katsurou Akiyama at the Gryffindor table laughing and chatting with Frank's evil friends about an hours ago. It had taken all 5 of the guys from his dorm to convince him he wasn't going to miss his date and it took Katsurou Akiyama disarming him to stop him from jinxing his friends in retaliation. They had all joined the Gryffindor table for lunch and spent the rest fo their free day chatting and laughing at each other. A few of Frank's stories had been shared and laughed over, all in all he felt a lot calmer about this date now than he had that morning.
Armed with a bunch of roses; charmed to change colours depending on the mood of the person holding them, Frank set off. He was meeting Alice in the three broomsticks as they had agreed but he had a surprise. he had spent a few hours that morning with Katsurou planning somewhere he could take her since it looked like a snow storm was heading in and London was out since he had used all the floo powder a few nights ago for a 'mission' to get alcoholic beverages for the dorm room.
He hoped she liked where he planned to take her, it was nothing more than the old astronomy tower at the edge of town. All the old wards were still up (he had checked with the owner via owl post that afternoon and gotten permission to use the place) from what the owner had told him the snow would melt before it touched them if they wanted to sit on the top floor with the roof open. Which was good because he was hoping he could use the opportunity to snuggle with his date.
He hadn't really done much to the place, he had asked the Hogwarts elves to take over some warm food and some blankets for them but other than that he didn't really know what the place looked like. He hoped she would like it, it wasn't so much a fun date as he was sure she was used to but he had never done this before. And watching the snow together under blankets was romantic, right?
The snow started coming down sooner than he had thought, that added to the winds slowly his progress a bit. He hoped Alice was waiting inside for him, he'd feel terrible if she got ill because he was rubbish at time keeping. Tucking the roses under his jumper (borrowed; well he saw it on the couch in the common room and left a note letting the owner know he had it) so they wouldn't freeze, he wasn't sure how the charms he had put on them would react to that.
Seeing the pub in the distance Frank jogged toward the door, he was cold. Hoped Alice wouldn't mind if he got them a drink there so he could warm up before they set off again, even though the tower was only 5 minutes down the road. Seeing her immediately Frank swallowed 'She looks amazing' Pulling the roses out he walked over to the table she was sitting at "Hi" He smiled hoping she couldn't tell how nervous he was "I got you some flowers. I hope you like them, I can get you something else if you don't I just wasn't sure what flowers you liked and a guy i know said his girlfriend liked it when he got her roses" He paused to take a breath "And I found this really cool charm that made them change colour depending on who was holding them." He glanced at the bunch in his hands "They are red now, I don't remember what that means" He did but if he told her he would go redder than he was sure he was now.
"Errrm," Holding the flowers out toward her he took a few calming breaths "You look great" He added

The sting of the warm cocoa bit her tongue as she sipped it, but Alice didn't mind that much. Really her chill was her own fault. Not only was she abnormally punctual to the point where she was consistently early by at the very least five minutes, but Alice also had a very profound dislike for leggings. So that day she had of course opted not to wear any. Nit that it mattered much, if they were to be outside for very long, Alice knew how to keep them warm.....A Fire of course!!! Get your minds out of the gutter! This is Alice we're talking about, not that Integra hussy that slept with everything that walked upright. Then again Alice could not deny that certain dreams, be them day dreams or the sleeping kind, about her and Frank did occasionally happen. Even just the other day she herself had a dream about being out in the lake skinny dipping with him. But then the squid came along and she startled awake. This was most likely due to Frank's influences. Looking out the window, Alice sipped on her cocoa and sighed watching the snow begin to fall. She very much hoped he was going to be alright walking out there. OR that he'd be able to make it at all. Perhaps he would turn back when the snow started and wouldn't come. That thought made Alice want to just go back up to her room and sulk. She wasn't sure why. It was only a first date. OH right... maybe because this was FRANK LONGBOTTOM!! The one and only boy she'd ever stopped to look at and faun over. The only boy she'd ever liked her entire life. And she had a plethora of decent boys to talk to as a child....Granted they were imaginary, but none of them held a candle to Frank. Alice was just about to turn from the window, finish her cocoa and go back to her room, when she saw a boyish shaped figure coming closer. It turned out to be a tall man with an ugly worn grey cloak and a half singed beard. With a flustered sigh Alice cursed in her thoughts at the man. But as she watched him dart into a doorway, she saw him! Frank, ducking under the overhand outside and coming into the pub. She put on an excited smile, which wasn't really hard for her as it seemed to come natural around him. She let him talk as it seemed he had a lot to say. He stammered and rambled a lot when he was nervous. "Frank..." She laughed and took the flowers. "I love Roses. Hate Daffodils. But I love Roses." Coincidentally they never changed color when she took them. "Just sit for a moment. And thaw out." She ignored the complement simply because Alice always felt it was strange to receive a complement. Not that she didn't like to get them. Just that she felt they were something people said to be nice, or to fill a moment when they felt dialog needed to be had. There for, Alice never saw much reason to comment on them. Besides if she said something nice in return most would assume she was just throwing a compliment back to be nice and to return the favor. Alice didn't want her complements to be taken that way. She wanted to give them out because she meant them, not because she felt obligated to give them. "I'm glad you made it, I was a little worried that maybe the snow deterred your coming at all." she looked at her hands wrapped around her mug then back at him. "Not that I think you'd flake, but I wouldn't want you to have been too terribly cold. I hope it wasn't much trouble getting down here." She gave him a sweet smile before starting "Oh goodness!! where the hell are my manners!! Lets get you something warm to drink!!" She turned in her seat to wave at Madam Rosmerta. Giving the woman a little nod at her own mug, she silently asked for more cocoa for the both of them. "I'm so sorry. You must be freezing." She looked apologetically at him and sighed.
