Severus was watching the clock as it ticked closer and closer to the ed of transfiguration, his last lesson of the day. He was also pretending to be practicing the transfiguration practical that Professor McBIASED had set them. Well..Professor McGonagall, but it didn't make it any less biased when she gave points and praise to Gryffindors so freely and was so hell bent against the House of the Snake. He glanced away from the clock to check that the witch leading the class was still far enough away for him to just tap the rabbit and pretend. Of course, she would have to be closer now, so some probably misguidd hope set him onto trying to impress her with his abliity to actually do the task. Which he could. He'd go the the hang of it about ten minutes into the lesson. Mostly due to the hour he'd spent practicing it last night. He liked to be ahead in classes. Waving his wand and tapping it sharply on the rabbits back, but not in a harsh manner, the small furry creature went from a nondescript, unassuming brown to bright electric blue. He glanced up. She'd already moved on, giving his work only a cursory glance.
His lip curled in annoyance and he looked away from her, spotting What looked like Narcissa at first glance. As her head turned slightly, he realised she was someone unknown to him. Probably in one of the other houses.
Well He realised that after his jaw had hit the floor and his rabbit had almost escaped. She was absolutely gorgeous. And way way way out of his league, or that of anyone else in the room.
Spotting his rabbit making a break for it, he pulled it back to the center of his desk and repeated the exercise one last time before the lesson ended, still watching the girl he'd spotted.
Damn it. He'd missed. Now his desk was an odd pastel blue.

Eloise hated Transfiguration. What good was transfiguring a rabbit going to do her in the real world? She didn't even have the slightest clue what she wanted to do in the real world. She probably would end up a mum like her own mother. She really was rather maternal and loved little kids, especially ones just getting into their new-found powers. They were so adorable. She just wanted to pick them up and squeeze them.
She had tried getting tutoring for transfiguration. She asked James for some help, but he seemed to stuck on her looks to try and help her out. It was rather frustrating sometimes, people not getting past her uniquely charming looks. She huffed as she failed once more to change the color of the rabbit. If she didn't know better, the rabbit was refusing to change color just to spite her. Eloise huffed and stuck out her bottom lip. She then pulled her hair back. She wished she had her hoodie on her, so that she could cover herself up completely. It seemed to make her feel better when she could just blend in. But the sweatshirt was in the back with her book bag, and the rest of the classes, for fear that they might change the color of their possessions by mistake. Professor McGonagoll didn't want to hear about student complaining for their own mistakes.
As the bell rang, she rushed back to her bag, putting her wand in her pocket. She just wanted her security blanket: the hood over her white blonde hair, and she would feel more at ease. As she rushed back through the aisle, she bumped into someone, and her chest hit his shoulder. She made a grunting noise as if he had been the one running into her. But she knew it was her own fault. She reached for her sweatshirt and pulled it on, hood over her head before she turned back to apologize.
She looked up at the person in which she had run to, looking up only because she was a miniature five foot three inches tall, and he was at least a foot taller than her, if not more. His hair was black and shaggy, but purposefully, and his face was long, and a bit sad. His eyes were a deep brown, and the dark rings under his circles made her assume he had had a long night. He was a bit lanky, where as Eloise's little, petite body, was curvaceous, and full. Even her fingers were small and petite, almost childlike, even though the curves of her body spouted seductress (she didn't like to feel this way and so she stood awkwardly). The awkward stance Eloise had: trying to stand straight with her butt not touted out, her knees bent in, and a bit pigeon toed, even made her uniqueness more eloquent, as if she was purposefully standing this way, to offset her sexual assets. She reached out to touch the same shoulder she had run into, and reached only up to his mid forearm. " I em very sorry fir running een to you."
Her french accent made it a bit difficult to understand, but not if you were listening. Her voice was a bit high pitched, and had a sing song to it, like an angel or a siren. "My name iz Eloise." She held out her hand for him to shake. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Severus tapped hisdesk several times, going through the spectrum of colours before he managed a mostly brown colour. He turned back to glance at the girl again. Was she...Yes, she was. She was pouting. ohdeargodandmerlin.
Saved by the bell from both his hormones and the Professor's scorn, Severus stood up quickly and while reaching for his bag, felt something smack into him. Something small. Probably a prank again.
"Watch it!" He groused. Or... OH god. The girl. And damn and blast. He could see her tie now. Gryffindor. Well that put paid to an hopeful thinking. He watched her pull on a hooded jumper and rubbed his shoulder. Why was she covering herself up? If he looked as good as her, albeit in a manly way, he'd never hide it. Then again, he'd never been good loooking so he couldn't really comment.
Oh...Dear...Lord...She was french. And touching him. He stared at her hand on his arm and then looked up at her. trying to stay normal and casual and not the suspiscious but attracted that he felt.
"That's...alright. It wasn't particularly hard anyway." HE paused, uncertain for a moment and stopping rubbing his shoulder. "Are you alright?"
"Severus Snape." Another pause, slightly bitter as he nodded to the retreating backs of the marauders. "I suppose they've told you all about me." He didn't even try to tell her that it was lies. She was a gryffindor and new. He'd want to fit in if he were her, not make friends with the least popular boy in the school.

It could have been that she was in a rush for her bag, but she completely missed the voice telling her to watch it as she ran into the Slytherin boy. She was more worried about her jumper, which seems very trivial, but it was of most importance to her. She just wanted to fit in, or rather blend in. She wanted to feel invisible for once. As she reached up to make sure that the Slytherin boy was alright, she saw him stare down at her hand and she pulled it away. He stared at her for a moment before he spoke to her and his Brit accent was just adorable. She thought that the Brit's had an adorable little way of speaking and she wished that her voice sounded like that. "That's...alright. It wasn't particularly hard anyway."
She smiled softly at him, glad that he was alright. ""Are you alright?" Without a moment's pause, she replied to him. "Of courze, I em fine, really." She bit her lip. As she introduced herself, he did as well. "Severus Snape." Severus.... she didn't recognize the name from anywhere. She thought maybe she had heard it once from Jamie or Sirius, but only once. She had just heard their conversation; she wasn't actually a part of it. She was a bit of a quiet one and she wasn't good at making friends. And it wasn't very nice conversation if she was remembering correctly. She saw him then nod toward her fellow Gryffindors, the four Marauders in particular. "I suppose they've told you all about me." She looked over her shoulder at who he was nodding at and then back at Severus, a tad confused. "Enchantée SEver-us." His name was soft and the "r" was almost missing when she spoke it. "Zey 'ave not told me anyfing abou' you. I em not friends wif zem. I em still very new here." She pursed her lips a bit, a bit frustrated with herself that she had not made more friends here, but she really just wanted to blend in. She didn't want to stick out like she did at Beauxbatons. That got her into a heap of trouble. She reached down and picked up her bag, pursing it onto her shoulder. It was then that she came up with a great idea. Earlier in the week, she had asked Jamie Potter for some help in Transfiguration and he was of no help whatsoever. Maybe this Severus would be of more help to her. "Do you fink zat perhaps you could 'elp me wif transfiguracion? I em dreadful in zis class." She bit her lip again, a forcive habit of hers. While Severus did want to fit in, and be liked and not noticed, he didn't appreciate feeling invisible, which was how he felt when the girl didn't respond to his warning, he wasn't really complaining though, she did have a rather nice figure. especially from the back. He adjusted his satchel a little, so no-one could accuse him of staring too long.
Severus' eyes widened slightly more as she said his name back. He certainly hadn't said it like that. If he had, it would have sounded ridiculous anyway. But when she said it..He tilted his head forward slightly, hoping the fringe would be enough to cover his spreading blush.
Of course, that technique was rendered ineffective when he glanced up again in surprise. he was glad she'd missed his turning the table blue, and shrugged. "I suppose so." He didn't want to seem too eager. He wanted to be sophisticated and mysterious perhaps, but definitely not seem creepy or desperate or clingy to be presented with a chance of friendship. He could barely contain the desire to smirk over her shoulder at one of Potter's fan club as they left the room. Here was a girl they had not managed to turn against him and the first thing she did was to ask him for advice in an academic matter.
That's right, Him. Not Potter. No matter how good at this class he was. If he'd mucked around less in classes, he'd probably have been asked. But that charming class clown doesn't work on everyone. in fact, on sensible girls, it doesn't work at all. He felt a twinge of guilt at the thought of Lily. But at least she hadn't been taken in by Potter's attitude either. He'd probably die if she gave in and went out with that git of all gits. His thoughts were controlling his expression and he realised he was glaring slightly. He blinked and tried to assume a more friendly expression. As much as he could at any rate.
Quickly, he reached out for her bag, "Would you like me to carry that for you while we walk?" He nodded to the door, much less crowded now than it had been at the instant the bell had gone. There was more than just general polite behaviour motivating his offer. If he walked with her, he could work out what she had trouble with and make sure he didn't have any problems with it...and, he wouldn't be a lone target. Potter and his cronies were ar less likely to try and amuse their fan club if he was not on his own.

The first thing that she noticed was that he seemed to be a tad surprised when she said his name. She knew it wasn't exactly correct, but it was difficult to say some names with this damned accent of hers. His eyes went to the floor but not before a glimpse of pink cheeks before his hair covered it up. When he looked back up at her, a tinge of pink still stayed stubbornly on his cheeks as he spoke. "I suppose so."
She smiled a bit, quirky smile. It was crooked in someway, like one side of her smile was a little bigger than the other. "Oh, merci SEver-us!" She said joyfully. She suddenly felt embarrassed for her uber perkiness, and she flushed. She let her eyes fall to the floor and when she finally looked back up at him, she tucked some hair behind her ears as she noticed that he was glaring. She quickly looked over her shoulders and saw that he was glaring at Jamie and the boys again. "You really do not like Jamie and zem, do you?" She pursed her lips together. What could they have possibly done to make them not like him? I mean, Jamie is known as the charmer in the Gryffindor boys, but he couldn't be all nice if some people didn't like him at all... Her hood fell, exposing a mountain of whitish blond hair that was curly and fell to her shoulders. It wrapped around her face like vines wrapped around a trellis. Immediately, Severus seemed to have changed his expression to a more friendly one, whether it was a reaction to her hair being exposed or not, she did not know. "Would you like me to carry that for you while we walk? She smiled again, her crooked smile. Severus was a gentleman. "Fank you." She handed it to him. As they began walking, she pulled her hood back up, hiding most of her hair, and held it close for a minute, before letting her arms drop. "Vich class iz next fir you?" She asked quietly, her sing-song like voice reaching just to Severus' ears and no farther.[/blockquote]

She said his name in that way of hers, and she was smiling at him. He'd never been so thankful for a crooked smile in his life. Too many acquaintances of his had perfectly even smile that were plastered on all to regularly and wiped off just a s quickly. THis smile didn't look fake. Which meant she was happy to be taught charms by him. And he was /very/ happy to teach her.
She'd caught his sullen glare at the MArarses. "I do have reason to dislike them. Well, several reasons." His tone was attempting to be wry, but in fact was quite bitter. On turning back to her, he noticed her hair falling around herface, framing it beautifully. He swallowed as subtly as he could.
"Not a problem..." HE murmured, fighting the blush because while he knew she was probably just using him, she was one of those girls that wouldn't be cruel about it, despite how out of his league she was. He walked next to her, onlybecause if he were to walk behind her his eyes would probably be drawn to her figure and he wanted to be able to participate in the conversation beyond gibberish and accidentally drooling or something similar.
But then she used the hood to hide away all that blonde hair and he frowned slightly. Perhaps he'd ask her later. Or never. he didn't want to scare her off. "hm...." OH yes. Perfect. A Class to show how talented he was. "Double potions actually. Are you taking it?"
