Let me tell you, a little something about myself[/color]
there are certain things that are required for one to be considered part of the black family-wealth, beauty, and a strong case of mental instability. with years of pureblood background and enough money to buy there own country, the fact that they are powerful enough to run half of the ministry really shouldn't come as a shock to anyone. it's enough to make them almost feared in the wizarding world. they have been a group of people who simply could not be ignored by the rest, and bellatrix is no exception to this.
twenty-five years ago on a steamy summer night, cygnus and druella black welcomed their first child into the world after just eleven months of being married. needless to say, they were a bit dissapointed that the blue eyed beauty wasn't the pureblood heir that they had been hoping for which was probably the only reason that they didn't stop right then and there. of course, even though they didn't have their boy yet, it probably would have been smarter for them to stop with one, because bellatrix was a handful even at such a young age. between her being up all night and her constant chattering, she gave her nannies a real run for their money.
as she grew older, bellatrix never really settled down. she was the exuberent one of the three black sisters, but that wasn't necissarily a good thing. she was always getting herself into something, whether it was harrassing her younger siblings or ruining the frilly things that her mother loved to shove her and her sisters into. like her mess of brown curls, there was really no taming her no matter how hard they tried, and, after a while, her parents just gave up and let her do as she pleased. despite this, by the time she was in school, it was clear that bellatrix was still going to be the epitome of what every pureblood women should be despite being over-oppionated and non-submissive.
it was no surprise when bellatrix was sorted into slytherin. after all, she stood for everything it meant to be in that proud house. bellatrix played her part well in slytherin-she had all the right friends and hated all the right people. she didn't think things could get any better until both of her sisters were sorted into the same house as her as well. it wasn't until her fifth year that she really started to notice rodolphus lestrange, but, despite being two years older, he was definitely noticing her. once again, she proved her parents wrong about what they had wanted her to grow up to be. bellatrix knew that she didn't have to be the doll-faced, porcelain girl that they wanted her to be to still make it in life.
bella's parents had never felt prouder of her than the day that rodolphus lestrange proposed to her. up until then, they had all but made up their minds that she was never going to settle down, but now it seemed that their dreams were about to come true. there was going to be a wedding as soon as bellatrix got out of school, a little house for the two of them to live in for the time being, and maybe even grandchildren in the future. the only problem was that about the same time they were going to get married everything kind of started happening to them. rodolphus was going to be away for work for nearly three months, and the dress she was having made was ruined in a fire at the shop. it seemed like it was just doomed for them. they stayed together through all of this though, and it was probably better for their relationship in the end.
no matter how much rodolphus might mean to her, that hasn't kept a new man from coming into her life quite recently. never one to sit and do nothing, bellatrix has become not only one of the first women to join the ranks of the death eaters but also one of the most loyal supports. her life has been even busier than ever lately, and a wedding has seemed simply out of the question. she knows that she can't keep her fiancé holding on forever, but she's not sure that she wouldn't choose the dark lord over him if she had to make that decision.
