Let me tell you, a little something about myself[/color]
Since he was a boy, Ryan has been that child. The one that makes the adults laugh, shake their heads, and offer up a quick prayer that their precious baby is nothing like him. It wasn’t so much that he was a bad kid; he just liked to have a good time and learned quickly that a charming smile would get him far in life. Whether it was the time that he somehow ended up on the top branch of a tree at his elementary school and convinced all the girls that he was up there because Peter Pan chose him above everyone else or the time that he was marked wrong on a test when he knew he was right and wrote the correct answer around the classroom in permanent ink, he was never far from the center of attention and he loved it.
At 6:29 on his eleventh birthday, Ryan’s mother woke him, as she did every year, and handed him his first present, as she did every year. This time, however, it was a letter, and not the traditional book. It was then, that Ryan found out that he had apparently inherited some sort of magic trait from that batty old uncle of his. Slightly confused, but kind of glad that he didn’t have to go back to his old school (for some reason the janitors never liked him after that sharpie incident), Ryan shrugged and asked if he could go back to sleep. When he awoke and realized it hadn’t been a dream, things got a little weirder for the young muggle-born. His adventures in Diagon Alley only solidified the boy’s love for this new world he found himself in, and he quickly dove into each of the textbooks he had purchased, trying to figure out just what this whole magic deal was all about.
When September 1st finally came and Ryan found himself sorted into Ravenclaw, he suddenly realized that there were tons of expectations and rules in the wizarding world, just as in the one he had left that morning. Despite that, Ryan threw himself into his classes, enjoying the comradery of the houses and the freedom of the boarding school life. Having grown up an only child, suddenly having people around was a bit of a shock. Ryan rose to the occasion, as far as he was concerned, quickly becoming the goofy jokester of the house. To others he might have seemed like a bit of an attention seeker, but that never bothered him. Now that he’s one of the older students though, Ryan hopes to grow beyond the comedic role that he’s accepted so far and become a “real” person and not just the jester in the back of the class.
