Christmas holidays were over and the students that would be seventeen by the end of the year, when the Apparition test would take place, were allowed to take Apparition classes - on a field near Hogsmeade, as it was impossible to apparate or disapparate on Hogwarts grounds. Sascha wasn't looking forward to his first class (even if he had to admit that he was the tiniest bit curious if the students were all as impolite as Regulus had been), but he hoped that if he did six months of teaching, he'd be let off and he could go his own way again. However, he knew how unlikely that would be. His fault had been grave, smuggling illegal magical artefacts with the help of underage wizards and witches, and Dumbledore was watching his every move - of course he was, the old bastard wasn't going to have a criminal teach his students without keeping a keen eye on him. As much as Sascha resented this job, it was better than Azkaban, and although he wasn't about to cut his students any slack, none at all in fact, he wasn't allowed to be unreasonable with them. Hm, they'd see about that. Unreasonable was a concept with many gray areas.
"Velkom." He glanced over the group of students that had come to attend class. Not too many, Gott sei Dank. "Ze ministry has encouraged me to make sure you know about ze drei D's - does any of you know vhat zey are?" Really, he couldn't care less if they knew about Destination, Determination and Deliberation - Sascha was asking this question to see if there were any know-it-alls in the group he'd need to shut up. He didn't need students who thought they were smarter than him.
Sorry it's so short, Sascha is relatively new to me, so I'm still getting into him. (:

My eyes are open wideMost people feel some sort of dread or distain for the return of school, but Adel was not most people. Sure Christmas time was fun exciting occasion filled with family and friends, but Christmas meant she had to return home. She would never do the whole poor pitiful me act, because she knows there are so many other who have it worst. Pity was a waste of an emotion. She also tries not to lie or delude herself, especially when it came to family. She loves her father, but the truth is she would rather remember him how he was than who he has become. If that means wanting to come back to school, however deluded and backwards it may seem she accepted it fully. Indeed she was perfectly content being back on school grounds. There is a peace that surrounds Hogwarts.
With a skip in her step, she approached the field near Hogsmeade. It was a nice change of pace to be out in the open air, instead of locked in a class room. Gathering with the other students, she was surprised that there were not more people attending the class. She had barely made the cut off, since her birthday was so late in the year. Better late than never though. She was still able to participate in the class. Surprisingly she was looking forward to class. I mean who would not want to learn apparition. It was like driving, but for wizards, witch made it all the more exciting and magical. Though like any first driver, Adel was a little apprehensive she did not want this to end up as a crashcourse.
She stood in front one arm resting on her hip the other holding her stuff. All eyes where on the professor as he approached, including her bright blue ones. He did not seem all bad as he started off the lesson. Flashing a friendly smile, Adel was sure she knew at least one of the answers to his question. Obliviously one of them should be destination she said with confidence. She was smart, but she was not a genius. What she had was what most people lacked. It was a simple thing called common sense. this whole class would be pointless if we did not have a destination, correct?
Raising her hand or shutting her mouth, never occurred to her. If she had something to say there was little that could stop her from actually saying it. She did not even fumble or falter, as she gave her looking directly at the teacher. This directness unnerved most of hr fellow students, because as her father once told her not every thing you think should be said. Though as an teenager she did not take her parents advice. She let words spill out of her mouth, and was direct to the point that teachers though her arrogant. Maybe she was a little arrogant, though she preferred the term self confident. Though who said pride is always a bad thing?

Sascha let his eyes roam over his students, looking at each of their faces, taking them in. He didn't smile. He knew he could smile quite charmingly - in fact, he could be quite charming in general when he wanted to be. Things was, he didn't want to be. He wasn't here for fun to begin with and so far he hadn't come across anyone who had changed his mind yet. Teenagers. They were still so.. unfinished - too tall or still to much baby fat. All those things in their eyes - curiosity and nerves, excitment and some, even, fear. They all knew each other so well, had known each other for years - and he fell outside of their scope, he was new. It was a very uncomfortable feeling. Sascha could see the groups among them, subtle but they were there, friends standing together, looking at him with equal curiosity - who was this foreign teacher? Well, he wasn't going to tell them. Who he was wasn't important, he just needed to teach them how to Apparate and if they had anything to say to him 'professor' was a good enough substitute for his name.
The first student spoke up, without even as much as raising a hand, and a girl nonetheless. "Ze whole class vould also be pointless if every student showed as little manners as you," he answered sharply, looking the girl in the eye, openly criticising her. She was good-looking, but she was trying too hard. She would probably be rubbish. "If you vant to speak, you raise your hend. Vhen you only know half the answer-" another sharp look at Adel "don't bover speaking ahp."
Sascha cleared his throat. "Now. Ze drei D's are Destination, Determination and Deliberation. You mahst be completely determined to reach your destination, and move vithout haste, but vith deliberation." He could see students grabbing quills and parchments and cleared his throat again, louder. "Don't bover vriting zat down, by ze time ve're halfvay through ze course, you should be able to dream zat words." What had happened to people who could understand and remember instructions without writing them down? These students were completely incompetent. "Instead - vhy doesn't one of you tell me vhat Splinching is und vhat its cause is, ja?" he asked, impatiently, he wanted to get the boring theory bit over with. Looking at the students one by one, he could tell he had made them more nervous by his harsh manner towards Adel. Good. If one spoke up now, they'd better have a decent answer ready, insteady of wasting his time with half-guessed bullshit.
[Sorry if the accent sucks! xD]

Annelise's seventeenth birthday was only a month away, so she wasn't about to miss Apparition lessons. She went by herself, not sure what the class would bring. Honestly, she was extremely nervous. Apparition did not seem like a good thing for her to do, mainly because she wasn't very good at these types of things. Her nerves always got the better of her, causing her to be wrong for the first while. She had even went over books to see how to do it, and learned of Splinching... she had become more terrified than ever when she read about that.
Regardless, she had pep-talked herself into going. Her pep talk continued all the way until she got to the gathering of students, and many looked at her strangely, as none of them knew who she was talking to. She wished she had Remus with her, but couldn't find him before the class began. She couldn't believe how terrifying this experience was for her when everyone else seemed to find it so exciting. Annelise stood near the back of the class as she hoped that it wouldn't bring any attention to her.
The first thing she noticed, however, was the Professor's thick accent, which caused her stomach to do another nervous flip. She didn't understand half of what he was saying, and she knew that meant nothing but trouble. She stood on the tips of her toes, hoping to get a better look. Looking didn't help her understand, however. He asked a question about what the 'D's were, but didn't get much more. She knew that there were three D's in Apparation... or were there four? She had just read about it that morning, how could she not remember now?
A familiar voice told Annelise that Adel had gotten one of the answers, but the Professor was quick to snark back at her. Everything about this class was absolutely wrong for Annelise: the activity, the accent, and the attitude. She didn't think she'd be able to tolerate it. However, she had spotted Adel, and therefore decided that if she made her way over to her, that she wouldn't feel so completely alone there. She weaved her way through the crowd without much attention being drawn to her. She stood next to Adel and smiled a bit awkwardly. They used to be such good friends, but since Remus came along, well, Adel didn't seem to be around that often.
"I can't seem to understand anything he's saying," Annelise whispered very quietly. It was so quiet, she doubted that Adel would even manage to hear her. Yes, Annelise knew was Splinching was, but she didn't know how to explain it properly. She decided to stay quiet in order to avoid this new Professor's apparent wrath.

having just turned Seventeen a few days ago, Severus had decided to take apparition. It would be an easy way to get away from spinner's end now that he was a wizarding adult. He had traipsed over mostly alone and seperate from the larger crowd of teenagers. When he arrived at the lesson ground he spotted the rather friendly looking professor who, as one approached, seemed less an less friendly with each step. He started to feel the apprehension build all around him. Who was this professor?
When the man spoke, Severus' eyebrows momentarily shot up. Where was he from? Maybe he was a durmstrang professor being loaned as it were to Hogwarts. If so...the man might have a lot of knowledge. Now. To get on his good side.
The professor posed the gathered students a question. Three Ds. Three Ds. Well he knew two of them. Destination, determination....destination determination d- decision? Decisiveness, declaration, destination again? Destination, determ- A girl's voice piped up with some snide comment and Severus scowled at her agreeing completely with the professor's remarks. Why answer if you don't know? He muttered to himself in agreement,"Think before you open your mouth, dunderhead."
Another question after an equally well deserved snap at all the studnts who were trying to write down what the foreigner was saying. However...it was a little difficult to understand, something he heard someone nearby mutter. He glanced back to see who it was and then quickly turned back to the front annoyed. It was that girl that alwayswas all over those stupid gryffindors. He couldn't understand how she could even consider them worthwhile company. He remembered Mulciber adding her to a list of frigid bitches and suspected that the older slytherin had been completely correct. Anyone in league with that four was probably the kind of person who liked to hold sweets just out of reach of small children.
He yurned his mind back to Splinching. He knew what it was and how it came about but after the berating the hufflepuff had got, he didn't want to accidetally incur the professor's wrath and make the wrong impression. Maybe he should just wait a while longer before considering answering...

Ryan wasn’t entirely sure about this whole apparition business. He’d been doing some research before heading out to the first class, and it didn’t exactly seem like the most reliable mode of transportation, especially for a guy who tended to be easily distracted by a shining object or a smiling girl. Seemed like he’d be getting splinched more often than not, which didn’t exactly sound like his cup of tea. Of course, he couldn’t skip the lessons without admitting that he was scared, and so when the first class began shortly after winter break, he decided to suck it up, avoid damaging his pride, and go to check out the course.
Mumbling bitterly to himself about missing fingers, Ryan jogged over to the group that had already formed in the open field, glancing at the other students as he stood there, shivering a bit in the cold. He was so focused on the chill, it took him a minute to realize that the professor had asked a question. Shaking his head, he thought back to the book he’d read. The three D’s. As soon as he remembered and was about to open his mouth to answer, one of the Hufflepuff girls began to speak. Destination was a pretty obvious one, but at least it was right. When the professor seemed to reject her answer, Ryan shot him a glare. No point asking a question you don't want answered.
As the question of splinching came up, Ryan smirked. Unpleasant though it might be, the definition had stuck with him. Deliberately raising his hand but without waiting for the professor to give him the go ahead, Ryan began to speak. Splinching occurs when one isn’t focused while apparating, in violation of both the ‘determination’ and ‘deliberation’ D’s of apparating. This results in the removal of a body part, be it an eyebrow or an arm as only some of the wizard arrives at the desired destination. Is that enough, professor, or should I continue? Wouldn’t want to give you half of the answer. It wasn’t until his hand was already down that Ryan thought about what he had just said. Shit. First impressions had never been his strong suit, but you’d think he’d have the brains to avoid irritating the already unpleasant professor. Instead of apologizing, though, Ryan simply straightened up and looked directly at the professor, waiting for the wrath to descend upon him.
I kinda failed at the whole color thing. Just giving up now so you don't have to deal with code in the middle of the post :/

Sascha looked around the group of students for a moment, unashamed. No one answered him at first, they seemed hesitant - good. He was sick of students disrespecting him. Besides, they could fool around in other classes all they wanted, but Apparition was another matter entirely. This was serious. He wasn't in the mood to end up with Splinched students all over the place. He wasn't going to fix them, he'd leave that to the matron who worked for the school. He was here to teach - and nothing more. Severus made a wise choice in not speaking up and I suppose Annelise should be glad Sascha didn't hear her, as he was occupied with frowning at another student who'd come in late - Remus Lupin, to be exact. For a moment, the Gryffindor teenager had hoped to slip into the group unnoticed, but had the bad luck of walking up just behind the boy, Ryan, who had just spoken and had drawn Sascha's attention. Remus ducked his head and avoided the teacher's gaze, because although Sascha didn't speak or reprimand him (like all teachers, he had been told to cut him some slack due to Remus' problem), he did send the student a look that said 'I'll let it slip this time, but cross the line again and I'll easily find a way to exclude you from my classes'. Teaching werewolves - he thought - what was the world coming to?! Remus, in turn, knew exactly what that look meant - he got them every year when he had his checkup at the Ministry. Quietly, he weaved into the group, briefly touching Annelise's arm and smiling at her, whispering a quiet 'hey'.
For now, the teacher's annoyance was taken out on Ryan. The boys earlier glare had escaped him, but the know-it-all comment at the end of his (although correct) answer did not. “Qvuite enough,” he responded a little coldly, lips pressed into a thin line. Glancing at the student, noting his house colours, he nodded to himself. “I had been varned that Ravenclaws vould be know-it-alls. Shall I teach zis class of do you vant to?” It was obviously a rhetorical question and no doubt anything Ryan could say would be a wrong reply. “Still, your ansver vas korrect,” Sascha added. He wasn't completely unreasonable - the answer had been quite right. “It vill do you all good to remember zis. Destination, Determination, Deliberation - forget one of zese und you vill fail the class.” Sure, Sascha tended to be a little overly strict, but this was the truth. “Apparition is not a joke, there is a reason vhy according to W.O.M.B.A.T intercontinental travel by means of apparition is prohibited.”
Straightening his back, he clasped his hands behind his back - almost looking like an army general. “I vill side-along each of you in turn, to familiarise you vith ze feeling.” Eyebrows raised, his eyes scanned the students before him. “Any of you brave enough to go first?”
Don't worry about colour, you don't have to use it! (: I personally like it, but it's not a requirement or anything (;

I watched the world out side someone must have his wand up his arse that was the first thought that came to mind when the teacher spoke. There was no introduction, no smile, not even a name. He was the exact opposite of what a teacher should be, and that very fact paired with his criticism made Adel want to tackle him just so that he would end up in the mud. The thought was so tempting she had to remind herself that there were too many spectators to get away with it: even though some might join, in most would go running to tell. wimps instead, she could only imagine the look of surprise, and that was still worth the devious thoughts.
Startled yes, speechless no. She was about to reply to the professors criticism with some harsh words of her own, but he seemed to just continue to talk. it is like he likes the sound of his own voice he would talk, but when others dare to speak right or wrong he could not stand to have everyone’s attention on him. Mouth open, and words raging in her head she was only saved by her good friend, before she said something really stupid. I wish I could not understand what he was saying. Maybe then this class would be bearable she muttered as she turned to look at Annelise. Taking a deep breath to calm herself, she let a smile slip onto her lips. Even if it hurt to admit, they were not as close friends as they had been. Remus had taken care of that. But despite this, it was always nice to have a friend in a class where you were thinking about splinching the teacher himself. Glad to have you in class with me though she said more cheerfully.
Adel did not bother writing down anything the professor said. Instead she folded her arms across her chest, and kept her bright blue eyes trained on the professor. Any movement he made she followed. Every stupid word with the funny accent, she kept in her mind. The only time she turned from him was in defence of the boy who had dared anwer the teacher. Turrin on her heels to the boy who spoke about splinching she smirked. Very quietly, which was something new for her, she spoke well, you would make the better teacher she grinned and winked. Though when she turned back her pretty little smile was wiped off her face. Remus apparently was also in this class. He had also found his way to Annelise’s side, which was so predictable. Looking anywhere, but towards the two love birds she saw many familiar faces though none would have been considered friends. Though when she looked towards the outside she saw Severus. so typical he stood away from everyone eles. She tilted her head curious, and was surprised that he was not the one to answer. Stepping further from Remus and closer to Severus, she smiled a crooked smile. I am surprised you did not answer Mr. I know everything her words were soft after all she did not want to be called out by the professor again, but he really could not stop this girl from talking. I am sure you knew the answer. Not afraid of his accent are you? though the teacher's challange caught her attention.
I am no Griffindor, but I will do it she said as she stepped forward. It was not a fact of bravery, it was pride. He had openly criticized her, and now she would do anything to feel in control again. She wanted to show him that he had misjudged her, and she was far more capable than he had predicted. If that meant she would actually have to study or risk being splinched so be it. All she wanted to do now was to prove the professor wrong. One way or another she would.
By the way I am leaving out today word count: 655 lyrics: Second Chance -Shinedown

Not exactly a wand up his arse - simply a lack of cigarettes and an overdose of annoyance. Dumbledore had sort of said he didn't want Sascha to smoke in front of the students, but Sascha was very much considering ignoring that bit of advise. Besides.. wasn't it the seventies? The larger part of the student body probably smoked. But really, Sascha was mainly just uncomfortable and his way of dealing with that was, in a nutshell, making others feel ever worse than he felt. It always worked pretty good for him; making sure he was on top. Deep down, he knew it was a wrong way of dealing with things and he realised that it created more problems than it solved, but Sascha was not terrible socially gifted - he might easily misinterpret a friendly smile for a mocking one, for instance. Adel was right, in a way. He was the exact opposite of what a teacher should be. Then, of course, he hadn't actually wanted to be a teacher, either. Sascha couldn't fathom why they would want him to do this - did they expect him to open up and find his true calling, make friends with everyone and sing with forest animals like in a Disney film? Because that was hardly going to happen, in the first place because Sascha did not sing.
Sascha didn't want to hear his students, so he talked. He just wanted to get this over with. The quicker he got this theory into their hormone-filled little brains, the quicker they could go to practise, which would definitely be better than this explaining and having to ask questions. Why couldn't these kids just accept what he told them, without being idiots and questioning everything? He could apparate, they could not - therefore, he was the authority here. Okay, he knew it didn't exactly work like that. He knew students were supposed to be inquisitive. Hell, he had been like that, once, before his parents had died and all the world had turned to shit. He could feel the tension in the group, a mix of annoyance and anger (directed at him, no doubt), but some were quiet and intimidated, which was better. In fact, Sascha couldn't care less what they thought of him and seeing them angry and worked up about his 'methods' sort of felt satisfying. At least he was getting to them, even if it was in the wrong way.
Hearing Adel speak out of turn, he shot her a glare and made a mental note to remember that face - it was going to need detention later, as soon as he'd come up with something good that fitted her attitude. Who was she to judge who'd be a better teacher - would she rather be taught by an incompetent boy? Or did she just want to flatter him into her bed for the night? The latter was more likely, of course - what did women exist for if not for keeping a family. Some work was better left to men. "I am no Griffindor, but I will do it." Adel stepped forward and Sascha raised an eyebrow. For a moment, he considered telling her 'no'. For another moment, he considered side-alonging her and making it one hell of a trip for her. Nah.. Most threw up the first time, anyway, and he didn't expect Adel to be an exception. Besides, she was so determined to show him she was capable of things.. Sascha half-smiled to himself. Nothing she could do was going to convince him, but if she wanted to try so bad. "Take hold of my ahrm," he nearly commanded her, not holding out his hand to her because he knew it would be trembling, especially with the lack of nicotine in his system. "Alzough apparition can be done vithout a vant, I vould strongly advise you not to try it. Side-along apparition is possible vithout one, however," he explained (oh, fuck Merlin, he really was a teacher now..) as he waited for Adel to take a hold of him before disapparating without warning, apparating again a split second later, three feet to the left. "Apparition also increases in difficulty as ze distance is lahrger," he continued, as though nothing had happened, and certainly not paying attention to Adel - no matter what state she might be in after her first taste of what apparition was like.

Severus had decided that he liked this teacher. He didn't coddle, he didn't pat the students and give them praise when they'd done nothing worthy of it.
Adler's answer was very good, what one would expect from a ravenclaw. THen came the backchat and any respect dropped. Severus scowled again. No-one here had any respect. Respect was something severus valued highly. something he craved, something he needed. And when others deserving it didn't get it he tended to dislike the disrespectful party. In all fairness, professor Borchard wasn't as respectful of the students as other Professor's like Flitwick, but so far at least, Severus hadn't seen him be disrespectful to a model answer delivered with no attitude.
Severus heard a voice by his shouloder and turnd his head slightly, having no intentino of being caught talking in class before he'd made the impression of a good student. "Adler's a ravenclaw, I wouldn[t dream of usurping his position." He paused and eyed the blonde, disliking him all the more for his easy manner and good looks. "then again," He muttered from the side of his muoth, thin lips barely moving,"Perhaps I should have, to spare the Professor his cheek."
Severus turned his head fully now, mildly uncomfortable that everyone was now looking in her direction and thereby, in his. Was she trying to irritate the man? OR did she genuinely feel a need to prove she was capable by side-alonging with the professor. Whichever it was, severus didn't want to be too involved. He stepped to the side slightly, giving the Hufflepuff a clear view at the Professor for whatever stare-off they wanted to have. Severus watched the pair and jumped at the crack, he hadn't expected it to be so loud. He'd hoped he could have stayed calm throughout, thus revealing how un-Mugglish he was. Recently a few of the others had realised that actually, they weren't related to any Snapes and with how incestuous the pureblood community was, that was a rare thing indeed. Of course, they'd not questinoed why he'd never been to any socials. What parents would want to bring him to so important an event? And doubly so when he claimed relation to the Prince family. They were all tall, handsome, and very socially able. Severus had one out of three, but even then, he hunched, losing up to five inches due to bad posture.
