Let me tell you, a little something about myself[/color]
Regulus was born in the winter of '61. His parents were very pleased that they had been given anotherson, another boy to carry on their name. He was pretty much adored from the start. Orion and Walburga loved their newborn child, and were convinced from the very beginning that he was going to become something great.
Whenever Regulus thinks about his childhood, he thinks of it as a good one. Even though his parents insisted on their children pretty much taking care of themselves, he still always felt loved and appreciated. When Regulus learned how to walk he imitated everything his brother did, which meant that, a lot of times, he ended up doing some things they were not allowed to do. However, he was never the one, who was yelled at for this. No, Sirius was the one, who got in trouble for this.
So Orion and Walburga saw Sirus as a bad influence to his younger sibling, so they were not upset at all once the two brothers started spending less time together as they got older. At first, Regulus was upset about this, but he learned to deal with it and ignore it, because it was what his parents and Sirius wanted. Regulus always respected his parents' rules and beliefs. He almost always agreed with them, and on the few occasions that he didn't, he made sure to keep his mouth shut about it, which is the opposite of what Sirius would do.
Regulus showed signs of having magical abilities pretty early on, so no one was surprised when his letter from Hogwarts arrived. His parents were certain their little boy was going to make them proud, show everyone that he was a true Black. Regulus already knew which house he was going to be sorted into; he had decorated his walls with green and silver banners long before his Hogwarts letter even arrived.
He was not used to being around so many people of his own age, since his brother and cousins were all older than him. However, the other Slytherins were pretty quick to accept and include him; he fit right in with them. But even though he was liked by almost everyone in his house, Regulus preferred being by himself most of the time, and he is still like that. He would spend most of his time with the people a few years older than him, though, as they wanted to be absolutely sure he was heading in the 'right' direction, and so that there was no way he would end up like his brother.
