Let me tell you, a little something about myself[/color]
Emma was born into a family with three children, with her being the youngest. They were so close in age that people frequently mistook them for triplets. This only lasted until they were in their childhood years. There was no favouritism, although she was known as the baby of the family. Her sister went to Hogwarts first and wound up in Ravenclaw, followed a year later by her brother who was Sorted into Slytherin. Since their mom was a Ravenclaw and their dad was a Gryffindor, they didn't mind where their children ended up. They half-expected Emma to wind up in Gryffindor, too, due to her somewhat rowdy personality, but instead she was Sorted into Ravenclaw. Part of Emma assumed it happened because she was so competitve with her sister that she didn't want her sister to be known as "the smart one." She was admittedly a bit disappointed that she wasn't Gryffindor, though.
Her sister finished school and went on to be a Healer while their brother dropped out of school in sixth year. Since the moment Emma started Hogwarts, she was so worried of only being known because of her older siblings. Her personality, however, made her more well-known - whether for better or worse was unknown, but she was certainly more well-known than her typically shy sister or her shy drop-out brother. Emma became her own person.
She easily became known at school for being opinionated. She didn't take much from anyone, although she knew when to hold her tongue. She could hardly be called a prankster by any means, but her sarcastic tongue got her a reputation for being funny. Many people questioned her on how she got into Ravenclaw when she was clearly a Gryffindor. Emma shrugged it off, but couldn't help but wonder herself. She knew she was smart, but she didn't tend to show it. Unlike most of her Ravenclaw counterparts, her studying habits left a lot to be desired.
In her fourth year, Emma had a fairly serious relationship with another Ravenclaw boy. She told him her insecurities about her House placement, so he had brought her to Dumbledore and requested that she try the hat on again. He was reluctant, but eventually allowed her. It didn't really tell her anything new, which left Emma disappointed.
The relationship with the boy didn't last, but she wasn't bitter about it. They simply weren't working out, so near the end of fifth year, they broke it off. Emma didn't go on with a broken heart. She was sad for a while, but then realized life went on. She didn't distrust others for it, and he had never taken advantage of her. Like most teenagers, he tried to go all the way with her, but she wasn't ready - but it wasn't like she hadn't done some stuff.
Emma never really desired relationships. The one she had from fourth-fifth year was more of a fluke. She doesn't avoid them either, though. She thinks that people should just live their lives and if someone who they're romantically attracted to comes into their life then great. If not, that's great too.
Throughout her years at Hogwarts, her short fuse and quick tongue got her in trouble more than a few times. Over the years she grew to know herself better and when to stop herself from speaking, but sometimes she found it hard. She took someone's advice in her House (since they were frustrated by her getting so many House Points taken away) to let her frustrations out on the Quidditch Pitch. The best position for that? Beater.
Most people wouldn't assume that a girl would be good at being a Beater, and she wasn't really the best at it, but when she did hit the Bludger, she hit it hard. More than a few times it crashed against someone's head. People joked and called her a beast, but she disagreed.
Now in her sixth year with more Dark things arising, Emma finds herself torn about what to believe. Her family is purely good, but she can't help but empathize with some of the values the Dark side has. She's sort of on the fence, but tries to keep her opinions about what she believes to herself, as most people in her House are against the Dark Arts.
