Let me tell you, a little something about myself[/color]
Though most childrens' childhoods seemed to be filled with bleak affairs that only seemed to mess them up even more, Coralie was lucky to have been born to a pair of parents that were anything but mean or hurtful and were elated to find they were having a child. Course, her brother was the first, born a year before her, and really he had become the guinea pig that reflected their mistakes. She being the second child had a lot to live up to, however, for though her parents weren't strict, they always strived to push their kids to the ultimate limit so that they could do their best. They were doing it with the best of intentions, but it did get annoying after awhile. Even after her younger sister was born, each sibling kept their mouth shut for bringing up the fact that their parents had high expectations for them that they weren't sure they could fill would surely kill their spirit and they knew it was for the best if they went along with their parents' wishes. Destroying their parents' high hopes just broke their hearts a little too much to bear so they kept it to themselves.
It wasn't long before Coralie's brother received his letter to Hogwarts, automatically being sorted into Gryffindor. She respected the house but found the other houses to be of much more intrigue. It seemed everyone was sorted into Gryffindor and she doubted she was cold enough to end up in Slytherin. Preferring to leave it up to fate, she got her mind off such matter by studying as much as she could, reading all the books she could find in her father's study as well as whatever her mother would let her steal. She had always had the worst memory and over the year that she was preparing for her departure to Hogwarts, she hoped to exemplify her memory. It was rather embarassing to show up to a party and find that you had just been introduced to some fellow peers but couldn't quite remember their names so in order to be even better prepared, she even bought some Muggle brain games that were supposed to help your brain function, hoping that, if all else, it would help just a tad.
The day she received her acceptance letter to Hogwarts by owl, she practically cried. It was the happiest day of her life and she ran around the circumference of her house and yard in order to fully express her happiness. She danced atop a table to music streaming through the magical radio, her sister joining her and taking her hand as they celebrated the good news. She hated to leave her behind but knew that it would only be a year until they met again. Coralie's mother and sister joined her at King's Cross and she gave her sister a soft kiss atop her forehead to express her apologies before bounding for the train, waving enthusiastically back towards them as a grin broke out across her features. Her sister was attempting to look happy but Coralie knew it must've been hard to watch another sibling leave to join the rest among Hogwarts. Upon reaching the Sorting Hat Ceremony, her bright blue eyes darted about, trying to soak in as much information as possible, amazed by the floating candles above her. The ragged hat called 'Ravenclaw!' and she leapt off the chair to join her peers, excited that she was among them and not the sneaky Slytherins, though she knew she could give them a good round-a-bout should they choose to try and fuck with her.
The years hadn't been too eventful, but they were enough to confirm her love for magic and all the good it had done so far. Course, there were also dark forces using magic because where there's good, there's evil but that's besides the point. She had learned a lot from her time spent in the Ravenclaw Common Room, though she is a tad more offbeat and impulsive compared to most of her house mates. Normally they were all for studying and reading a book and while she was always up for fun like that, it was also nice to explore the castle in the early ebbs of the morning just because she could. It seemed nobody was on the same time schedule as her and thought her a tad loopy for even considering going down to the Forbidden Forest or pulling a prank on a Professor who had wronged her. Whenever she had a scheme in mind, nobody wanted in, though she had grown used to doing things by herself. It had given her strength and she was much more independent now than she had been when she was younger. She doesn't pull childish pranks anymore, having turned seventeen over the summer and thus having matured a bit, but she still hasn't changed in the sense that she still likes to do random things at odd hours such as raiding the kitchens at three in the morning or searching for secret passagways between portraits during free periods. She hopes to work as a Healer or possibly in the Ministry. She doesn't have a set goal in mind yet when it comes to jobs, careers always having felt constricting and threatening to her, but she hopes to come up with a definite idea before the year is through. She doesn't want to be the only one left behind after all.
