Let me tell you, a little something about myself[/color]
Amos is the only child of Patroclus Diggory, who at the height of his career was undersecretary to the head of the Department of Tourism at the Ministry of Magic, and Amelia Diggory (née Stroup) who ran a small apothecary business selling beauty potions and gossip. As an only child and only son, most of Amos' childhood was spent being positively spoilt rotten by his besotted parents. Comfortably middle-class, the Diggories indulged their son's early interest in magical games and sports, particularly Quidditch, and much of Amos' early life was spent in his favourite stands at games, religiously following The Wimbourne Wasps, an alliance he would keep throughout the rest of his life.
This early childhood undoubtedly had an effect on Amos' later school years. Once at Hogwarts, he followed his father into Hufflepuff, keeping a fierce pride in what he considered an 'underdog' House, and at various points in his school career playing Keeper for the House Quidditch team (despite his declarations that he 'turned the team' around, they still remained little worse than the woeful Wimbourne Wasps). From a small spoilt child Amos grew into a teenager that, albeit good-natured and ultimately kind and friendly, often came across as pompous or overbearing at times. He liked to keep a large group of friends and was quite flirtacious at Hogwarts (reasonably good looking - Amos would say 'exceptionally' - he managed to pull quite a few girls but never had a proper girlfriend before ______ (his baby mama) ) putting more effort into his social life and the Quidditch team than his academics at times.
Thankfully though, despite his lack of dedication to his studies, Amos managed to get through Hogwarts, NEWT's and all, without getting kicked out. He's always been lucky that way, as his mother always says about him, 'Amos is the kind of boy who could fall in dragon dung and come up smelling of roses'. His cheerful and optimistic attitude to life help him through numerous bad situations and mean that, for the most part, he could amble through day-to-day life without much strife or purpose, except of course, when it came to the Quidditch pitch. Amos' easy-going nature carries across somewhat into his appearance. He's always let his mum look after his hair, and tends to keep it quite short and out of the way, which Mrs. Diggory prefers to keep him from looking like 'one of those hippies' and suits Amos better for Quidditch anyway (and perhaps later for keeping baby sick out of his hair...). He's often seen dressed casually, outside of his Hogwarts uniform and later his Ministry employee robes, Amos favours plain Muggle jeans often paired with Quidditch sweaters and whatever sunday-shirt's he's been advised looks trendy and up to scratch when it comes to going formal.
A major change in Amos' life came when he began seeing _________(Nessa?) in his seventh year, and shortly after graduation, the young couple had a surprise pregnancy on their hands. For Amos, who never planned past lunch most of the time, this was a monumental and life-changing experience. Although he initially struggled with the news, being so young, Amos is, underneath all the pompous haplessness, a loyal person and he was determined to do the right thing and stay together with the girl he loved. Putting his life-long private pipe dreams of playing Keeper for the English National Quidditch team (which were admittedly somewhat unlikely to begin with) Amos took a job at the Ministry of Magic at his father's recommendation, the only concession to the boredom of the occupation being that it was the Department of Magical Games and Sports.
Currently, Amos stands at a very stressful point in his life. Whilst trying to stay out of the wider political conflict, his main concerns are providing for the oncoming bundle of screaming, puking joy, whilst still retaining some of his happy go-lucky sociableness. Unfortunately, being a devoted fiancé and father doesn't exactly fit well with being a carefree teenager/twenty something, which is something Amos is unfortunately finding out with invariably dramatic~ results. Not to mention the fact that his boss still seems to think the new department lackey is called 'Adolf'...
