Let me tell you, a little something about myself[/color]
[/u] Eric is built well, but does not work out. He has a strict diet that keeps him in top shape in order to wear the best manufactured clothes and robes that his own money can buy. He keeps his wavy hair somewhat unkempt but always clean. He likes to look less businesslike than his mind actually works. He uses his appearance to remain charming and friendly looking while hiding the actual fact that he would lie to you outright in order to get what he wishes from you. His brown eyes borderline on golden hazel, but are always sharp when he is intent on something. His expression always changes when he is considering his own needs. However, he normally keeps a friendly and approachable smile on his face. He has a soft mole on his left cheek that he feels makes his face more distinguished than it actually is. The blemish is not ugly, and he refuses to remove it. When he smiles, Eric has dimples on each side of his mouth. Others would call them laugh lines, but he secretly calls them his money makers. He has been known to make girls swoon with his dazzling smile, perfect teeth, and charming demeanor.
Appearance:
Eric stands in at just under six foot, but his lean frame makes him look taller than he actually is. He does not strike an imposing figure, which suits his mindset perfectly. He considers muggle clothing to be generic, but he has been known to wear them to remain in style. When the need arises, he has hundreds of muggle suits and outfits. He also has the best wizarding robes that money can buy. He prides himself in always remaining neat, and clean without appearing to be as vain as his own father. He takes pride in his appearance, and even if his hair can be somewhat messy at times, it always smells manly. Even his jewelry will have to sparkle if he is going to be seen wearing it. His looks is just part of his disguise.
Personality:[/u] Eric is highly intelligent, and when he puts his mind to something there is nothing he can not overcome. However, most of his thoughts revolve around ways to cause fights, and money. He sees a profit in almost everything he looks for, both physically and monetarily. He never enters a situation without first deciding what he can get out of the encounter. The same can be said with how he makes, and keeps friends. Someone has to be useful to him in some form for him to waste his time with a person. Often, Eric will enjoy sitting back and thinking of ways to manipulate others to his own advantage. He considers this to be the highest form of entertainment. His ability to cause others to not like each other is one of the talents he treasures the most.
Eric has never cared about house rank, or the purity of blood as long as he is getting something out of the person in question. He can find a use for a muggle as well as he can a full blooded wizard. He will associate with anyone that might hold an advantage for him. He thinks that things like blood status, and house pride are secondary to more important things like money, and power. His greed for both holds no bounds. However, he does things mostly behind the backs of those that could be considered his biggest enemies. He often befriends someone in order to get what he needs from them, and then betrays them without them even knowing they had been used. He prides himself in being able to get what he wants or needs out of every situation and relationship he has ever been involved.
Eric considers himself to be high class. He would not stoop to being rude, or using profane words in order to verbally insult someone. He would rather speak to someone using blunt honesty in order to win an argument. He has been known to twist the tongue and confuse people when he speaks to them. He often uses words or phrases with a double meaning. He enjoys letting others know that he has out thought them, and clashes with other students that are considered intelligent. Eric is haughty, and thinks of himself to be above most others that attend the same school as he does. However, he is not blatant about his dislike. He is always polite and kind, and prefers to throw a curtain over his true feelings to keep others in the dark about how he truly feels.
He has the capability to love, just like everyone else breathing. Eric just chooses to love power and money above the emotions of others. He has held relationships to fulfill his physical needs, but would never let a female get in the way of his true desires. He would toss a girlfriend aside if it meant a way to greater riches, or the upper hand over an enemy. Females, though enjoyable, come and go. Most are not even worth his time. He has never been in love, like those of the weaker emotional status. Love does not make a profit, and being attached to someone -or something- is really just a burden that he does not need in his life. (He has a tendency to think ages above his young sixteen years of life.)
Pre-Hogwart's History:[/u] As a young child, Eric had always been obsessed with the color silver. Even though gold is worth more, as his mother and father explained to him, he enjoyed the clink of silver coins. He was fascinated with the gleam of silver objects, and often stole them from other parts of the house to horde in his own room. His father thought this little habit was amusing and often brought Eric items made of silver to add to his collection. Before he was the age of seven, Eric had a mass collection of antique silver statues, coins, and various silver related items. Although he did not wear much jewelry, Eric loved to keep rings and necklaces in boxes all over his room. Before to long his collection out grew his small room, and he was given his own vault at Gringott's Bank. This turned a new thought for young Eric. He became interested in nothing but the workings of a bank, and the way money seemed to effect everything in life. Soon the family moved to London, and Eric spent what free time he was allowed in Diagon Alley enjoying the wonders of the free market. He read books that others his age would have no interest, and smiled when he was given his first bit of allowance.
The year before he received his letter to attend Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Eric found that he could make money using the antique silver items in his vault. He talked his father into investing his money in the muggle market, and buying excessive stocks in silver and gold. This turned Eric's attention to buying and selling of muggle art pieces, and materials. The items, being non-magical, were legal to trade to wizards. Soon, Eric was pulling the strings to a new market and turning a handsome profit on silver statues, arts, and art coins of silver, gold, and other valuable materials. His mind was very sharp and business-like at that age. However, something was missing.
He had learned to manipulate the market, and the small minds of those buying items from his store (ran by a relative, but overlooked by Eric). His interest in the way the mind work started to become as much an obsession to him as making money. He knew that his uncle would often talk people into spending more money than they wanted on his art. Eric wondered if this same process could be turned to get more things out of life. He was soon practicing on his parents, and his allowance ended up being greater than any other wizard child he knew, though he was greedy for more, others still found him to be charming and approachable. He turned his little secret into a game, and soon had other kids fighting over things that did not matter. Eric did this for entertainment. Then his owl arrived.
Year One: Eric was a full blood, but those things did not matter to him above the lure of money, and the way he could use others to get the things he wanted. However, it did mean he was better prepared for the school, and what was to come in his first year. He quickly found himself to be popular even if he seemed to feel he was better than the rest. He was a quick thinker, and learned his lessons well. He also found himself with a new group of children to manipulate into doing the things he wanted them to do. He was easily able to do his own homework, but often had others in his house do it for him by simply talking them into it. He grew a silver tongue, and often seemed to have others to do the things he did not wish to do. Yet, when called upon in class he could always give the most intelligent of answers. He did well in potions when he found a passage that spoke about turning ordinary materials into gold. He paid closest attention to that class, and always did all his own work. Even if he considered other bright kids to be his enemy, he never openly fought with anyone. He continued to keep things friendly, and worked situations behind the curtain of his secret way of thinking. Eric befriended a Hufflepuff who was excellent at Herbology in order to take advantage of him, and help Eric learn more in that class. This person is Eric's "friend" to this day, Stephen Cornfoot, a Hufflepuff one year Eric's senior.
Year Two/Three: Eric continued to live his life out of the way. He enjoyed manipulating others without their knowledge, and soon went on to spread his various money making ideas on to others. He soon had an "underground" note taking venture going that would soon earn him extra gold while he did absolutely nothing at all to work for it. He simply had one smart person take excellent notes in a class, and then have those notes magically copies to other parchments. For a small amount of money, students could pick the classes and days in which they needed notes. Eric did none of the work, and gained most the profit. He continued this for two years until one of the professors caught someone with the illegal notes. Several other students were caught and given strong detentions. Eric, and those he chose to protect, were never found out to be involved and went unpunished. He lead a group of children in his house to be in an informal club. This included most of the richest kids with influential parents. They held secret meetings, and often planned out cons to make themselves more powerful, richer, or more popular in the school. This club, which still exists into his sixth year, was very secretive and hardly anyone knew that the group was more than just friends. Although others suspected them to be up to no good, the crimes they committed were not the standard things that students got into trouble for in the school. They "flew under the radar," and remained out of trouble to this day. Of course, Eric continued to do well in school, and all his classes saw him making top marks. He tended to stay out of the limelight, and away from the growing popularity of other students.
Year Four/Five: During these two years Eric discovered he actually liked the company of girls. He learned quickly that females, especially attractive females, tended to get what they want without really trying. He began to pay closer attention to his appearance, his manor of speak, and the way he held himself in the eyes of others. Eric experimented with many different girls, and figured out that love and emotions were not something that would be important to him. Other than the obvious advantages that can be gained from having a girl around, he saw nothing in a relationship that would make him more gold, and earn him more power in the eyes of his classmates. He continued to date, but never entered a serious relationship, and still has not to this day. However, relationships were not the only important thing to happen during these two years.
Odd events clouded the school, and being a student often meant much more than it seemed. Trouble often brewed, and several factions of students seemed to break off from the normal crowds. Eric saw a chance at entertainment and money at these events. He did not care about the balance of power, nor the outcome of the actions transpiring. He only cared that he be viewed to be on the winning side, and to be able to profit from all possible outcomes. This is when Eric started working both sides of the play at hand. He would meet with people in secret to discuss things that person might consider important, then he would sell the information to someone on the other side using the guise of friendship. He often manipulated situations and people to keep himself informed and entertained, while taking no concrete stand when it came to selecting sides. He was more interested in the intrigue of a situation rather than the life or death decisions being made by others. He remained sharp, and continued with his secret club while rising in power behind the scenes within the school. It was in his late Fifth Year that he learned of the Dark Mark, and the power that could be granted to a Death Eater through the rumors surrounding a younger classmate. Eric's life might just have a meaning now.
Year Six: Though only half the year has passed, much has changed in Eric's life. The violence and deception that has hung over the school like a dark cloud has forced him to act, or risk losing his own skin in all the mazes of lies in which he has surrounded himself. He quickly disbanded his secret club within the last several weeks before Christmas break with the story that they need to part ways and decide for themselves which path they will walk on. Eric claimed that there were spies within his group, and it was safer to do business in these dark days as individuals. He secretly moved all his money to a different vault in the bank he had grown to hate, and cut off his financial information from his own parents. His relation with his father and mother had grown bitter, and Eric often chose to remain at the school for holidays so that he would not have to deal with the people he was trying to distance himself from, his few relatives.
Even at his young age he could take care of himself monetarily. He held no concern for this. However, his interests in life were changing greatly. His thoughts of the dark arts grew stronger, and he saw no survival for anyone who would stand against a powerful dark lord. He heard rumors of powerful people falling to the wayside, and felt he needed to do something to assure his own safety in such a situation. Eric secretly vowed he would join a dark lord, and stand against those who did not deserve such a rich life as a Death Eater would be granted. He remained hidden within his friendly guise, and continued as if life did not matter. He would openly ignore threats of the dark tide rising, and laugh off any offers to join in with others who fought for the light. He played it like it was silly to think these dark things were really happening, and people were just being paranoid. He remains aloof, though he suspects the truth of things. He will not reveal to anyone what he really feels, and his secret desires to be powerful himself. And so Christmas break ends and Eric is looking for someone to use as an escape from the dark shadow growing around him. It is time to manipulate someone, or find someone who thinks like he does... and do what they would do best.
