I'm in the business of misery,
Let's take it from the top.
Was it really that surprising that she actually wanted to learn? Forget the ulterior motives, Adel was actually smart. Yet the stereo type of dumb blondes was hard to kill. Forget the fact that she did not even see herself as pretty, but one look at her and people automatically assumed the worse, stupid slutty blonde. At first, she had tried to kill that reputation. She was not afraid to get down and dirty playing Quidditch. She would spend extra hours studying for exams, and she would even avoid most of the wild parties. She actually was a good kid, but that was the problem. Girl girls finish last. So she was going to go jump off the deep end. It was not that out of character, because she had always been a little wild, but this might be the first time she was counting on something she couldn’t control. But she was so sick of not being noticed, and not getting what she wanted. Honestly she wanted to learn, but everything comes at a cost, and she was here to pay the price.
Fashionably late is what she always called it. The reality was she could not keep up with the time, but that was irreverent. Everything started when she got there which was about five to seven minutes late. After that she was almost perfectly on time if everyone just set their clocks back five minutes. Though in her defense being a girl was hard work; there was always that ever pressing matter of what to wear. Though in the end she decided to keep it simple; a black tank with tight jeans. Though she did start off in flats but she did run back to her room to change into booted heels, when she remember thatshe wasn’t short buthe was remarkably tall. Fixing her hair one last time in the mirror, she sprayed herself with her perfume and put her black rode on. With her books in one hand she fidgeted nervously with her hair with the other. She was not exactly sure how this was going to play out, but all is fair in love and war right?
It was a mix of Charles angles and a super ninja feeling in her stomach. She did not want to run into anyone, because people ask questions. So it became a secret mission she need to complete, that way it was more fun as she walked through the halls. She had told everyone she was studying, which was not a lie. Yet she had a sinking feeling most of her friends would not approve of her “study buddy”. Yet this never bothered her. It was just a business exchange. Right? she kept asking herself that, but in her heart of hearts she knew she never did business . She took everything personally, which might be why she was in this situation in the first place.
Her ninja moves must have gotten there quickly because before she was ready she was in the dungeon. Taking a deep breath, she put her best game face on; no smiles straight faced, but beneath it all she was biting her tongue. Stepping into view she tilted her head to the side and manged a greeting. ello there though that was all the greeting he got because she strolled up to where he was seated, set her books down, and grabbed the nearest chair. Tossing off her robe, she pulled the empty chair close. Flipping it around she straddled it. Crossing her arms over the back of the chair she rested her chin on her forearm. Looking up from under her eyelashes she asked where do you want to begin? and that was the start of this train wreck.
