Before Remus could say anything else, he heard James call out a "Happy Birthday Mate" to him and Sirius shouted a "Oy! REMUS! REEEMUSSSSS" practically at the same time. Blushing mildly, he raised a hand in greeting, feeling a little uncomfortable being in the spotlights like that. He knew the feeling would subside eventually, like it did every birthday, but the first few minutes were always a little uncomfortable. “Um, since I suppose this is a party, I’ll go get us some drinks. Why don’t you go over and talk to your friends for a moment? I'll meet you there.” Remus, still rather overwhelmed despite the fact this was a tradition, nodded a little. "Eh, yes, sure." He walked over to his mates after following Annelise with his eyes briefly and slightly grinned at James and Sirius. "You outdid yourself guys, this is surreal," he said as a matter of compliment, grinning a little wider as he spoke. The wolf was also very pleased with the inside-forest, especially as it even smelled like outside. "But, eh.. I'll just dodge the dress code if you don't mind?" He smiled apologetically and glanced at where Annelise was briefly before turning to the two girls from his year that had shown up so far. "Hey Lena, Mai - good to see you." Yes, that was a little too polite, when you considered the girls were in their bathing suits. Remus felt a little uncomfortable with that too, to be honest - not that he felt attracted to either of them, but it still concerned girls in, well.. practically underwear.
When Annelise returned, he smiled a little wider. "Thanks," he said softly as he took the glass from her and sipped it a little. He wasn't much of a drinker often, though he'd had one or two wild nights with his mates, and his major advantage was his quick metabolism. It wasn't that he didn't get drunk, but as long as he made sure to drink enough water before going to bed, he never had a hangover. He cleared his throat. "Hey, eh, guys, I have something upstairs I still need to get Annelise, so, ehm.. will you excuse us for a moment?" The question was also directed towards Annelise. Remus wouldn't mind giving her her things right here, among his friends, but he also knew Annelise didn't know them that well and he could imagine she might want to unwrap her presents in private or something..

Ed Stenwick didn't actually know the Gryffindor whose birthday it was but it was a party! So of course, invitaion or no, he was going. And if he was going, so was Mr. Bell. Mr. Bell being the bottle of fine malt whisky he'd procured the week before. It would serve as a birthday present and most likely one he could help himslf to as well.
But he wasn't going to show up alone. That would be pathetic. So he waited. And he waited. First in the common room, then in the dorm as he decided to get ready for the party while the others arrived. Nigel Hayman arrived first and Ed immediately handed him a loincloth and told him to change. "We're going out. "
Hayman didn't really seem enthusiastic about the loincloth, but that was Hayman for you. Poor Nige was the brains in their dorm and not the most impressive bloke when dressed in a loincloth. Still, that's why Ed had handed the pasty bugger a can of spray on tanning Potion with his tiger print loincloth.
The other Dorm mates were hopefully on their way. Especially Diggers. Ed had appointed himself the hufflepuff quidditch captain's party manager. That meant he made sure Diggers was at all the best dos and showed his face at the important parties of the year. Yeah this was a fourth year's party. Or something like that. But it wasn't the primary guests he was coming for. He was going because there would be other seventh years some of the more popular sixth years and even that duo of fifthyear gryffindors who were making a name for themselves.
Ed sat on his bed and started to dress in his own costume, stripping bare added without any shame at all. He'd lived withthese guys for seven years, they'd seen it all by now. He stood in front of the mirror to check his tan lines. They had faded slightly due to winter, but there was still a healthy bronze to his skin. And now, he glanced over his shoulder, now Nige Hayman had a bronze tint to his skinny frame too. Of course, Nige also looked angry. Probably because the palms of his hands were also a not quite so healthy when located on the palms bronze. Ed turned and gave him a winning grin.
"looking good, Nige!"
"bloody hell! Put some clothes on, Stenwick!"
Ed remembered he was still naked.
Picking up his costume he donned the tight leopard print speedo style pants and the short short loincloth that just barely covered them. He also donned a leopard print bikini. That last was because he had to make an entrance and be the centre of attention. Well. Mostly. It was Richard Lupin's Birthday after all.
He turned around to a horrified look from Nige. Hayman was a stiff anyway. He didn't appreciate fun. Diggers would be here soon and he'd appreciate his 'lionstooth' necklace and jaguar print loincloth. Ed sat on his bed waiting for his party protege to return. As he waited he used his "Hufflepuff supporter's kit"(consisting of a stuffed badger, yellow and balck paint, facepaint, fireworks and clothes) and painted two stripes on each cheek to look extra caveman.
He checked his watch then, realising cavemen didnt wear them, took it off and played with the 1.5l bottle of whisky. When Diggers got here they were going straight to that party.

Gilderoy was facing a very important ultimatum. It was absolutely perplexing, even to an experienced mind in the area such as his own. He stood at his trunk, with two items in his hand, afraid that the wrong decision would have terrible consequences. Should he wear an animal-print loin-cloth, or go for the more modest outfit with the shorts and the one shoulder? His face was screwed up in concentration. He was grateful there was no one else in the room with him. Everyone else who was going to be going to this birthday party had already headed off, and people who decided to not go were in the common room studying or gossiping or something. Gilderoy finally decided upon the more modest choice, and he laid his loin cloth fondly on the top of the rest of his clothes in the trunk before closing it. He would have liked to wear it, but unfortunately, it was not his birthday, and therefore did not want to be a major distraction from the real birthday boy - not that he could remember for the life of him whose birthday it was anyways.
Gilderoy changed, and then headed on his way. He could feel all eyes on him in the common room, and when he turned his head to give a few lucky broads a glance, they had beaten him in looking away. He grinned to himself. The poor, shy girls. Didn't want to be caught staring. He found it rather endearing. He exited the common room, and then headed to where he knew Gryffindor tower was. He had decided to go stag. He didn't want anyone else feeling jealous over who he had brought. It would just cause unnecessary drama. Besides, he was honestly hoping to see Rita Skeeter there. He knew it was a hopeless wish, considering he didn't even think any Slytherins were invited.
Someone from Gryffindor soon showed up, and after they made him cover his ears so that he wouldn't hear the password, they entered. The person who let him in disappeared into the crowd. He looked around, and was surprised that it was busy already. He followed many people's gazes, and soon found James Potter, Sirius Black, that weird boy that lovely Rita had wrote about in her article, and three very pretty girls. Considering how they all seemed to have most of their attention on the Asian girl, he realized that thsi must be her birthday party.
Gilderoy swaggered over, and threw winks at anyone who caught his eye. He found the group (due to the fact that they seemed to be the most popular group around), and ran a hand through his blonde hair confidently. He bared his perfect teeth into a smile, and then clapped a hand on the Asian girl's shoulder enthusiastically. "Happy birthday, my dear!" Gilderoy's grin lasted a little longer than what was comfortable, before retracting his hand, grabbing a glass of just punch, and then continuing with, "You know, this is quite the little party you put yourselves together. Not quite as good as my own sixteenth, but that was a rather private affair - sorry you couldn't have been there. But you all seemed to have done an okay job here as well."
He said it all as if it were matter-of-fact, and talked as if the boys were four-year-olds who had just done something for the first time. However, in Gilderoy's mind, he thought that he was just making normal, polite conversation. He caught the eye of the black-haired girl next to him, and had no idea who she was. However, he decided to do her a favour and smile at her as well.

He heard Sirius bark out another laugh, knowing exactly why this time as Sirius caught his eyes grinning. James grinned back, shrugging, throwing an 'I'm innocent...it was just an honest mistake' look. Though he doubted anyone would believe he was. Besides most girls were fair game for their antics. The only time they tried to contain themselves is when one of them was serious about a girl. For instance he would never have done that to Annelise, for Remus' sake. He caught Lena's eye and moved over next to her as Remus & Annelise were in discussion at the door. He wasn't going to let her 'lover' comment just slip by. So in a low voice he spoke to her with a glint of humor in his eyes. "Later ... you and I can establish the answer to your burning question. Find out what you 'really' prefer." He flashed her a smile, knowing full well that she's not going to take him up on his offer. However it didn't hurt to try. But was he really trying? His conscious mind wanted to think so but his sub-conscious mind just tried to pick up the one girl in the room besides Annelise that he would be 'safe' with and not end up in a sexual encounter with. He was pathetic. Even when he was trying to make an effort and move on Lily still had a hold on him. Disgusted with himself he stepped over to the fire whiskey and picked up a coconut glass. filling it to the brim he chugged it down. Feeling the burn down his throat to his stomach. He refilled the glass as he watched Remus and Annelise move in opposite directions from the door. As she headed towards the gift rock, he noticed Remus' eyes following her. He couldn't help it but to grin. The boy deserved some happiness in his life and Annelise seems to be the perfect one for him. Remus joined them commenting on the decor. "Thanks ... but it was all Sirius' idea. I just helped with the refreshments." He took a drink wondering what Sirius had in store for his birthday coming up at the end of the month. For this was a fantastic idea. One that would be hard to top. He was sure it would be brilliant no matter what kind of party it was. For all that mattered was his friends being there. Friends and the one person that he was sure wouldn't be caught dead at his birthday party, Lily. Raising his glass he emptied it again or was attempting to empty it when Remus cleared his throat and announced Hey, eh, guys, I have something upstairs I still need to get Annelise, so, ehm.. will you excuse us for a moment? The mental image of Remus and Annelise on the bed in the dorm as Remus gets Annelise flew through his mind. Which wasn't what started him laughing, coughing and choking on the drink. It was his unsaid comment that raced though his mind at the same time as the image ... 'it's only taking a moment?... Remus! It's your birthday ... take your time opening your present!" During his coughing, laughing, choking, coughing spell Gilderoy walked up and wished the wrong person 'Happy Birthday' which for some reason struck him funny and increased his predicament. word count 537 Outfit - Jungle Feversong- The Lion Sleeps Tonight and for Gilderoy - George of the Jungle (LMAO)

Remus accepted the drink from her, and Annelise smiled back at him. She took small sips from her glass, and tried very hard to keep her attention off of the other girls in case her envy was evident on her face. She instead focused her attention on Remus, James and Sirius. The last Marauder was missing, which Annelise found strange. Didn't Peter follow them around at all times? This seemed like the perfect setting for him, really. She glanced around the room, perhaps thinking that maybe he was socializing somewhere else; but as far as she could see, he wasn't around. She was really only half paying attention to what was going on around her. Due to the fact this was the first party she had ever been to, it all seemed new to her.
When Remus suggested that they leave, she couldn't help but blush a little bit at what the people around them might think. On one hand, she felt a little embarassed about what people might think, but on the other, she found herself sort of hoping that the girls would think that. She looked at the floor as if trying to hide her thoughts. It was unlike her to think that way, really, but she couldn't help it. She chugged the rest of her drink quickly, and put the cup on a nearby rock.
"Yes, that sounds lovely," Annelise said, eyeing where she had previously discarded her present. She was happy the rock in which the presents were sitting were on the way to the stairs to the boys' dormitories. She knew she could just pick it up on the way. It was small enough so that perhaps he wouldn't notice her pocket it. "Shall -"
She was cut off by the appearance of Gilderoy Lockhart. She was aware that he didn't know who she was, but due to her handy notebok, she knew full well who he was. He stood right between she and Remus, and then clapped Lena on the shoulder and wished her a happy birthday. She felt her cheeks burn slightly at what he did, and after she allowed him to rant for a few moments she said, rather uncharacteristically, "Why are you here if you don't even know whose birthday it is?"
Annelise's tone wasn't angry, but more offended than anything else. Him smiling at her didn't help either. She had a feeling this might happen, but didn't think it would make her feel like it did. She didn't know why it made her feel so flustered anyways. She shook her head and tried to ignore it. She would be surprised if he would even bother to reply. She was distracted, for only moments later, James started laughing and coughing. Her brown eyes grew wide somewhat, and she rushed over to pat him on the back.
"Are you alright?" she asked, worriedly.
Annelise was clearly not used to the Marauders and their ways. He would no doubt be fine, just as Sirius had been when he had a laughing and coughing fit, but it was just who she was to make sure he was okay. She pulled away from him and resumed her stance next to Remus and said, "Shall we go?"

Post by Amos Patroclus Diggory on Jul 10, 2010 22:25:30 GMT 1
Amos had never had Remus Lupin down as the party animal type. He barely even knew the guy, being two years younger than him and in a different house. No, his three infamous mates were more the type that Amos expected to puton such a lavish birthday party. But Lupin had surprised him. All through Quidditch practice all week all everyone was chattering about was this bash, and Ed Stenwick had been chattering on about it incessantly, which Amos wasn't sure to be pleased or worried about. On one hand, Stenwick always seemed to know where the best parties were and how to have a good time, and it had been ages since Amos had properly let his hair down and attended a raucous party with the boys from the dorm. He had been trying to appear more demure and sophisticated since he became interested in Nessa Laurentius. So it was safe to assume that Ed would provide a good night no matter what the party, and a Marauders party was sure to be a good night. They were rather good at debauchery, for fifth years.
But on the other hand, being taken under the wing of Stenwick, however good a night it was, had it's drawbacks. There always seemed to be conditions to have fun with Ed, be it performing the 'Stenwick slide' on the dancefloor, downing obscene numbers of shots or tonight, it seemed, ridiculously skimpy costumes.
Amos had taken a jog around the Quidditch pitch after class, and then a late dinner, so he was returning, post-shower, relatively late to the dormitory. Usually when he arrived late the boys were already pretty sloshed with pre-party drinking, so he expected a sight, but coming across a practically naked Stenwick and Hayman bronzed and wearing.. caveman make-up? Was certainly a sight for sore-eyes that he hadn't expected. Amos gawked at both boys, picking up his loincloth and (admittedly quite cool) necklace from the bed with disdain.
"I didn't think we were going to take it this seriously.." The Quidditch captain frowned, pinging his loincloth and raising a brow. It wasn't that Amos was particularly shy about his body (although he did feel very pale next to Ed and Nigel). In fact he liked showing it off in most situations, all that Quidditch practicing had helped him buff up considerably. But it was March, still pretty damn cold up in the Scottish Highlands.. he wondered if there was enough material on the loincloth to be able to subtly stuff it. Just because of the cold weather, of course.
But Amos Diggory was not some soppy saddo who would let a few body worries get in the way of what was sure to be an amazing party, and if even old Nige was getting in on the party spirit Amos had no excuse. Rolling his eyes, Amos pulled off his t-shirt and pinged the thong again skeptically before wriggling his way out of his jeans. Years of changing in the Quidditch quarters had made him immune to embarrassment when changing (and he was partly just showing off). Turning back to face them Amos squared his shoulders and held out his hand expectantly for the tempting bottle of Bell's. "So, half of that for me and half for the birthday boy?" Amos gave Ed his best winning grin and checked himself again in the mirror. "Have to hand it toyou Stenwick, you're almost as good at picking party gear as Nessa, and you don't look half bad yourself. Er.. no offence Nige"
He jerked his head sympathetically in his other roommate's direction pulling a face at the brown hands. "Accident, mate?"

Ed rolled onto his front and kicked his legs up behind him so that he looked like the worst transvestite in the world, attempting to be girly and cute when it just made him look perverted, predatory and lewd.
He had had his reasons for picking these outfits. Every single one of them was going to leave with a date. Or not leave wink-wink Nudge-nudge . Even Nige and his brown hands.
"Ooooh! Look who finally decided to join us!" he reached out and slapped a quidditch toned, firm butt cheek. "we've been waiting for aaaages, Diggers." He looked up and summoned Hayman's glasses before the skinny Hufflepuff could go looking for them. Honestly. Cavemen didn't wear glasses. Looking back at Diggers he had to agree. He did know how to pick costumes. He adjusted his bikini as he sat up and swung the bottle temptingly.
"you can have some if...." he let thelause stretch, though there was no surprise as to what he would ask," if you let me be your fun advisor for the night." Hayman was still looking for his glasses.
He opened the bottle, poured a half measure into the lid and poured it on a suspisciously stained area of carpet near his bed. That one'sfor Helga hufflepuff. And now I get a swig." he chugged back a proper mouthful and came away, eyes watering. "your turn." he handed the bottle over to diggers, stifling his cough.
When the bottle was a third empty, only n inch due to hayman who was ridiculously lightweight when it came to spirits, Ed stood up, grabbed the bottle and recorked it, pushed open the door, skipped down the stairs, missed the bottom one and did a commando roll to protec the whisky, then skipped off towards gryffindor tower.
"Onwards and UP!...wards." he was laughing all the way.

Quite hectic, it was, with them talking and people still walking in and greeting them at the same time. The fact there were trees all over the place which made it difficult to oversee the room didn't make it any easier. Remus heard James telling him that Sirius had done all the decorating, that he had only taken care of the drinks, and Remus was about to reply when something distracted him from it - he couldn't even remember what distracted him, everything seemed to happen at the same time and although Remus wasn't bad at multitasking, he just needed a little time adjusting. At the moment, he was just glad he wasn't the one and only centre of attention - though he sort of dreaded the moment he had to unpack the presents. He sort of hoped everyone would forget all about it, so he could do it quietly the morning after while the rest of the students were trying to get rid of their hangovers.
James started laughing when he announced he was going upstairs with Annelise for a moment. Remus knew he shouldn't have expected anything different. His friends never allowed such opportunities to pass and they'd had a few drinks already. Remus shrugged it off, there was nothing he could do about it now, and he knew James' joking about it was all in good fun. He just hoped Annelise didn't feel too embarrassed about it. He rolled his eyes at his friend and then shot an apologetic smile at Annelise. "Get your head out of the gutter, James," was all he said with a slight, but amused, smile, and he reached a hand out to Annelise to take one of her hands in his, about to leave with her.
At that moment, though, an older Ravenclaw whose name Remus had forgotten barged in and started congratulating Lena. Remus couldn't help but chuckle softly - he didn't feel offended at all, he felt amused most of all, really. It only showed that the Ravenclaw in question was a bit of a blockhead. Remus had seen the bloke once or twice and actually thought he ought to deflate his ego a little - maybe this would help. "Why are you here if you don't even know whose birthday it is?" Remus looked at Annelise, a little surprised at the tone of her voice. Really, he wanted to squeeze her hand and tell her it was fine, but again: everything was happening at once. Gilderoy was still blabbering, James seemed to be choking on something - Remus had forgotten how chaotic birthdays could be (especially when organised by Marauders). He was, admittedly, very glad when Annelise stood back next to him and asked: "Shall we go?" He nodded. "Yes, let's." He turned back to James and Sirius with a brief 'we'll be right back' and started leading Annelise towards his dorm. Remus sort of longed to collect his thoughts in silence for a moment and take the time to give Annelise her presents.

Christina yawned and glanced at the clock. She didn’t know which Gryffindor’s birthday it was, or who was throwing the party; only that there would be plenty of alcohol and everyone would be semi naked - exactly her kind of party. She was lucky to have found out about it, not really ever paying attention to the latest goings on in Gryffindor house. It was her sister who had the invitation, seeing as she was a ‘friend’ or Pettigrew’s. Christina still found the whole concept of her baby sister meeting boys highly entertaining, but she kept quiet about it tonight. She wasn’t going to be thrown out of this sort of party, only if she had a few new friends to spend the rest of the night with. She glanced up at the clock again, and then to the girls dormitory. Neither her sister or her friends were making any appearance anytime soon, so she decided to go. If they left it any later all the drink would be gone.
She stood up and stretched, before stalking towards the door of the Ravenclaw tower. She had gone completely for the party’s theme, wearing nothing but a black string bikini and fake tan. She had gotten one of her friends to apply it, seeing as Christina was naturally fair skinned, she usually went orange, but this stuff was brilliant. Now it simply looked like she had been doing nothing but lying in the sun on some remote beach line somewhere in the Caribbean for the last couple of weeks as opposed to school life, in a miserable March. It was the only time she sorely hoped that she wouldn’t get caught, not only would she land herself detention and miss the party; the embarrassment of being caught by one of the professors half naked wasn’t a pleasant thought.
The towers of Ravenclaw and Gryffindor weren’t too far away from each other, so she made it there in minutes. The common room was wide open and already full of people. The redhead stepped in and was forced to admit she was impressed. The usual chairs and tables had been transformed into hammocks and trees, and there were even tropical birds chirruping over the noise of several people. She glanced round, her bottle of fire whiskey in her hand, and made her way over to the table where the other alcoholic festivities were happening. The whiskey of course, was for whoever’s birthday it was, it would be rude to just turn up without anything to give, even she knew that. She set the bottle down on the table, grabbed a glass, filled it with the nearest substance she could see and slunk away to a less crowded spot in the room to drink.
It didn’t bother her that she was alone, having seen virtually everyone else talking to someone that they knew. After all, it was a party, they had all come to socialise, she would fit in; perhaps after a couple of drinks so she didn’t look too intimidating. She pushed away her long mane of red hair, which lay loose and curled, and she had added a blue tropical flower to it; to be fitting with the theme. She had picked up some punch, which tasted rather good. Sipping on her drink she smacked her lips together lightly, her piercing eyes scoping the room. Some people she knew by sight, and some by name. Perhaps in a while she would grace them with her presence.

Post by Sirius Black! on Jul 12, 2010 20:54:02 GMT 1
Sirius tried to not be bothered by the obvious flirting between James and Lena. It wasn’t like he was dating Lena or anything, really, but it still bothered him just a little bit. No, he didn’t want a girlfriend, that was true, but he couldn’t exactly help what he felt. He was proud of his mate for finally branching out away from Lily Evans, but why onto Lena? Was she just an easy target, or was she really much more attractive than what Sirius even knew? Regardless, he knew it was unfair to put dibs on someone who he wasn’t in a relationship with, or something he wasn’t intending on being in a relationship with. To say something would be selfish. Everyone was just trying to have a good time, and he wasn’t going to ruin it for James. If Lena was what James wanted for the night, then Lena could be what he got. Besides, how many times had Lena rejected Sirius anyways? Maybe he should have known better all along. Maybe he had only been fooling himself into thinking that she lusted after him just like every other girl did. He let the thought slip away, and just glanced around the room. There were plenty of other attractive girls, as well, to flirt with. She wasn’t the only girl at Hogwarts after all.
Sirius frowned at what Lena whispered in his ear. “Well, what matters is that she didn’t show up. Besides, James isn’t head over heels. He’s just dwelling on a childhood crush for too long, due obviously to the fact that girls can never seem to see past my oh-so-handsome exterior and into the truly extravagant human being that is James Potter.”
Yes, now he was selling James out, practically. He tried to force himself to not care. If Lena didn’t like him, then he knew he should just accept it. There was no point dwelling on it. There was no point in dwelling on any girl. Hadn’t he made that obvious by the way he never spent too much time on any girl?
Remus finally meandered over, which Sirius was grateful for. He was a distraction, after all. Sirius grinned at Remus’ comment, but didn’t really have the chance to reply due to the appearance of Gilderoy Lockhart. He laughed when Gilderoy thought the birthday party was for Lena, and laughed even harder at the disgruntled look on Lena’s face. When Annelise lashed out at Gilderoy, it was almost too much.
“Have her trained well, don’t you, Remus?” Sirius said with a grin on his face. He winked at his mate, and thoroughly ignore the rant that Lockhart started on. It didn’t take long for Remus and Annelise to depart, however. What kind of birthday party was it when the birthday boy only made a brief appearance? He knew he’d be back, but he wondered what everyone else would think. Then again, apparently not everyone was clear on whose party it was anyways.
Sirius watched Annelise and Remus disappear up the stairs, and could only imagine the article that would come out if word got around to Skeetbag that Annelise and Remus left together and into the boys’ dormitories at his birthday party. He could imagine the headlines now. As the two disappeared from view, his eyes fell upon a redhead he knew as Christina. He obviously knew her name due to the fact she was extremely good-looking, and he glanced back at James and Lena. Remembering what he had promised himself about making sure that James had a good time even if Lily wasn’t around, he decided to go for it.
“I’ll be back soon,” Sirius said quickly to James and Lena, making sure to catch neither of their eyes. He then looked at James and said, “Unfinished business.”
Sirius looked back, and had lost where Christina went off to. He managed to find her due to the blue flower she had placed in her vivid hair. He made a beeline straight for her, and after glancing over his shoulder involuntarily at the other two, he decided to put his full attention on the barely-clothed girl in front of him. Merlin, how he liked what she was wearing.
“A little overdressed, aren’t we?” Sirius joked, finishing yet another glass of Firewhiskey. He grinned at Christina, and although she was older, he wasn’t intimidated. Two years was nothing. Well, depending when her birthday fell, it was probably less than that, considering Sirius had been 16 for five months already. He touched her hair briefly as if fixing it, although it was just an excuse to get close to her and make his presence felt. If James could have fun tonight, he was determined to have fun himself. It was a party, after all.

Annelise's anger at Gilderoy Lockhart subsided the moment Remus took her hand in his. She expected to be a little embarassed due to the fact that they were surrounded by people, but she found that she wasn't. It felt a little natural to be holding hands with him. At least they weren't doing what a Hufflepuff couple were doing in the corner and practically having sex with clothes on in the middle of the room. After what felt like a lot of chaos, Remus finally began to lead her away. Despite the fact that they had been seen together loads of times lately, people still continued to look at them as if surprised. As they passed the rock that had the presents on it, she grabbed the one that she had placed there and put it back in her pocket, glad she could give it to him in private.
The two of them went up the stairs and into the dormitory. Annelise realized at that moment how strange it felt to be in a boys' room. Other than her brother's room, she had never been in one before. It was completely empty, and never before had she felt this alone with Remus. She felt pressure on her from all sides, and she stared at the ground determinedly, before finally looking at the boy. She could feel the warmth from the alcohol in her stomach, but it didn't make her feel any less nervous. For lack of anything to say, she pulled out the gift she had gotten him, and handed it to him. She had been hoping that giving it to him would make her feel less nervous, but it did the opposite. She hoped that he would like it, and she had completely forgotten that he was supposed to be giving her something as well.

Outfit: clickTattoo: clickWord Count: 1186 Lena didn’t know why but it seemed everyone was slowly moving to surround them. Maybe because half the Marauders were already in this spot. But she was starting to get uncomfortable about it. Lena had been flirting with James because he was sweet and he obviously needed a distraction. Tonight was for fun, not worrying about the person you like, liking you back. Lena had heard plenty of Lily’s Potter Rants and they made her all that much more protective of James because she really thought he was a funny guy and didn’t deserve to be talked about like that. Lena was a protective person over all of her friends. They were her only family she had left so she had to protect them. "Later ... you and I can establish the answer to your burning question. Find out what you 'really' prefer." She laughed and shook her head. “I believe I’ll pass on that one tonight. Maybe you can try and change my mind on a day I’m not so undressed.” She grinned, making fun of her outfit. “Besides I believe there might be other girls who would love for you to prove how much of a ‘lover’ and not a ‘fighter’ that you are.” She nodded slightly at some girls that were watching James from far away. “I think that costume works for you.” Lena winked at him before sipping some of her butterbeer.
She sighed as Sirius answered her back, low enough no one else could hear them. They probably looked silly whispering to each other like that but couldn’t really help it. “Well, what matters is that she didn’t show up. Besides, James isn’t head over heels. He’s just dwelling on a childhood crush for too long, due obviously to the fact that girls can never seem to see past my oh-so-handsome exterior and into the truly extravagant human being that is James Potter.” Lena shook her head in annoyance at Lily not being there. “I can’t believe she hasn’t shown up for Remus’ birthday. She’s so…ugh. I can’t even describe it. And you can call what he feels, however you want. Both of you are incredibly handsome. You’re just more… visual about it. I just think other girls are scared because of how James is always going after Lily. They don’t even attempt anything.” She shrugged, just putting her thoughts out there.
Lena saw Remus walking over with Annelise, she still didn’t know if they were official or not, and smiled widely. The boys beat her into telling Remus happy birthday but, honestly, she didn’t blame Remus for not hearing her. She was a lot softer spoken than either of them. When he got close she took a step toward him. “Hey. Happy Birthday, Remus. And truly, who else would have come up with a theme like this other than Sirius and James?” She winked at him. Remus and her talked a lot when studying together and he knew how she liked to tease and pick on the Marauder boys sometimes. They both did. “Hey Annelise,” she said politely to the other girl, not really friends with her but knew she was a good person. At the mention of them having to go up and get something, Lena nodded, knowing it wasn’t any of her business but she figured she might as well ‘say’ it was cool that he left. He’d be back down soon anyway.
Lena had noticed when the blonde Ravenclaw, Lockhart, had appeared and rolled her eyes. She knew of him and had seen him around the halls a few times. He was good looking but as soon as he opened his mouth every single illusion of having an intelligent conversation with the cute boy flew out the window and Lena got irritated every time he spoke. How that boy had gotten into Ravenclaw, she couldn’t fathom. She would have thought he’d be better in Hufflepuff but maybe he was too full of himself to be in that sweet house. When he made a beeline their way she assumed it was to tell Remus happy birthday. It wasn’t till his hand landed on her shoulder and he started talking about it being her birthday and that it was great but his had been better, that her mild annoyance turned into full irritation. How dare he? It was Remus’ day to shine. She immediately took a step back, making his hand drop away from her. “Are you that slow? It’s Remus’ birthday. Why even come here if you don’t even know who’s birthday it is?”
“I’ll be back soon. Unfinished business.” Lena blinked and turned back toward Sirius at his words, not really knowing what he meant or where he was going when he was the one who made the party happen anyway. It was bad enough the birthday boy had disappeared for a few minutes. When he took off, she followed him with her eyes to see him go straight toward a tall, extremely beautiful, girl. Everything that was the opposite of Lena. She frowned slightly, not knowing what was going on and feeling a little pang that he had gone straight to another girl. They had no claim over each other but if he was so interested in a girl like that, that he’d gone after her without another thought, it made her wonder what the heck made him look at Lena in the first place. She immediately felt self conscious and slid her arms around her belly, covering it up, but worked at keeping her expression the same. So what if they had gone on a date? Sirius went after lots of girls. But she just thought of how he’d been so interested in getting her to go with him and then watching him go after her direct opposite, it made her feel like he thought he’d beaten the challenge that was her and now he was moving on to bigger and better. She shook her head and made her arms drop back to how they had been and forced herself to put it out of her mind. If he wanted to go after another girl, she wouldn’t let it bother her. Just because a guy had shown a little interest in her didn’t mean he wanted her. Sirius had proven her original point to him, tenfold.
Lena looked at James and decided to just play around and get her mind off of things. “What do you think Remus and Annelise are doing up there anyway?”

Remus knew it was a bit rude to leave so soon, but fact was? He didn't care much. Oh, not that he didn't care about the party - he cared loads. He loved his friends for doing this for him (even if it meant feeling a little uncomfortable around so many half naked people), but he had gone to the Gryffindor tower with Annelise to give her her present, so that was his priority now, really. He'd be back shortly, anyway. Remus actually didn't really think anyone would miss him much - someone had just walked in and had congratulated the wrong person! It was obvious some guests were only there to drink themselves legless or hook up with someone; they didn't need Remus for that.
He smiled at Annelise a little when he lead her into the dorm. Remus had no dishonourable intentions, not at all actually. He had the feeling Annelise felt a little uncomfortable, but he just hoped it would fade soon - he wasn't quite sure how to react to the situation at the moment. "Give me a sec, I'll get your presents," he said quietly as he squatted in front of his trunk and pulled out two wrapped packages (which were obviously books) out from under his spare set of school robes before turning back round and giving them to her. He was about to say 'I hope you like them' when Annelise handed him her present for him and he smiled a little, half chuckling. "It's almost like a trade, isn't it?" Remus didn't like the silence, he wanted to talk to her openly; he wasn't sure why, but he'd always imagined that if he ever got to like a girl, they'd, well, trust each other completely. Then again, he hadn't quite been honest to her either, had he now? Remus sat down on the bed, folding one of his legs under him as he carefully unwrapped her present, not at all sure what to expect, and he gasped just a little as he opened the box and he picked up the watch almost as though it would break when handled to roughly. "Wow.." was really the first thing he could say, smiling at Annelise in his own lopsided way, but with eyes radiating how much he loved it. "I suddenly feel really bad for getting you second hand books," he admitted with a bit of a laugh before glancing at the watch again, turning it into his hands, watching how the light reflected off it. "I love it," he softly said, smiling, "thank you so much." He hoped Annelise would like his presents just as much.

Dorcas stepped into the extremely over crowded Gryffindor common room. It wasn't the first time she'd been in there, but the last time ... well, it wasn't this busy and she'd had to hide her identity. Sneaking into a common room and up to a boys dorm while it was all quiet and everyone was unsuspecting wasn't as easy as it had sounded. In fact, she was now wishing that there had been a party on the night , would have made getting from point A to point B unnoticed a lot easier, though moving through the masses was going to be a little tricky, hopefully her costume wouldn't drop off.
Getting a few stares from a fair few people, Dorcas knew the reason. For once, it was not her skimpy clothes or the fact her nipples were close to bouncing over the top of her 'costume' but more the fact that she was a Slytherin at a Gryffindor's party. Honestly, some people were so closed minded it was unbearable. Luckily for Dorcas however, she was a very tolerable sort of person. To some degree anyway, but everyone had their breaking points, didn't they and push the right buttons and it would come a lot sooner rather than later.
Squeezing her way to the drinks table, Dorcas saw Gilderoy Lockhart wishing some poor girl a Happy Birthday. She snorted loudly and rolled her eyes, chuckling to herself. At least she had the decency to know just who's birthday it was. On the other hand, Gil did tend to have a knack for making things all the more interestingly hilarious, his birthday wishes a fine example. Dorcas figured it a shame she was one of the only ones to notice, because no one else around her seemed to be laughing. Never mind, they'd never believe her if she told them. She was just a lying Slytherin after all with intent to ruin peoples reputations. Though Gil tended to manage that just fine all on his own.
Grabbing a drink and making her way back through the masses of people, Dorcas noted how amazing the decorations were and how the party planner had though of everything. Hammocks, coconut glasses, tropical birds and palm trees just for starters. The evening was all ready a success and it had only just begun. Or at least for Dorcas it had. She did have a tendency to arrive late. No, scratch that. Fashionably late was the correct term, or so she liked to think.
Dorcas was circulating around the room when she noticed James was next to the girl Gilderoy had wished a happy birthday. How had she missed that? Sirius was there too as well as Remus and another girl. Well, it was only polite to wish Remus a happy birthday, only by the time Dorcas had arrived, Remus and the girl had left, Sirius was on his way over to Christina and that just left James and the other girl. The other girl that was not Lily so therefore she figured it was safe to greet James.
"Hey Potter." Dorcas gave him a kiss on the cheek and a wink. "Hey Potter's little friend." it was only polite to say hello to James and it would have been just plain rude to have ignored his friend, she hated to ignore a drinking buddy, especially one that had saved her arse so many times from Merlin only knew what."Silly Gilly, c'mon, lets go dance handsome." She tugged at his costume lightly and gave James and his pretty little friend a wave good bye, saving them from Gilderoy Lockhart, though she was sort of doing herself a favour. She enjoyed a dance and a handsome man and there was no denying that Gil was handsome.

At first Lily wasn't sure that she wanted to come, but here she was. It wasn't like she forgot about Remus' birthday. No she'd never forget, she was just having problems. She'd been having an inner battle with herself. No it wasn't because of Remus, no she loved hanging around Remus. Remus wasn't the problem, she got along really well with him. In fact she loved him like a brother in some ways. It was his friends she had a hard time being around and she didn't exactly want to ruin his birthday by fighting. At the same time though, Lily decided it would be totally unfair for her not to see him on his birthday, to not show up at a birthday party thrown for him just because she didn't get along with James or Sirius most of the time. Lily wasn't going to let that stop her. No she decided to come. It wasn't like she'd be that late to begin with anyways. There was still plenty of time left. She wasn't going to stop the party, nor was she going to ruin it by fighting with his friends. In fact she vowed to herself to try and at least get along with them for Remus' sake, even if just for tonight She owed him at least that. They were all here to have fun. Being there a couple of hours, in the same room with James and Sirius without yelling at them wouldn't hurt would it? She looked around the room, quite amazed at how well they had set up. It looked really good. It had an interesting theme as well. There was no way that this party was going to be boring thats for sure. At the same time though she wasn't sure she wanted to see guys wearing just loin cloths. Of course the boys would think of such a thing and no doubt they were wearing the skimpiest loin cloth they could find. COUNT: 329 CLOTHING/COUSTUME: CLICKY!
