Here it is. You've got your dates or maybe you don't but come, drink, and as has been stated, avoid the punch. Snuggle up to your hunk or seduce a new one. Its up to you, but remember, this is a dance....so dance for crying out loud! And let the sparks fly! Good luck lovebirds!!!

[/i] urprisingly, Sirius had almost forgotten about the Valentine's Day dance. Actually, who was he kidding? It was impossible to forget. There were obnoxious streamers everywhere in the corridors, and he kept getting asked to go every fourteen and a half seconds. Some girls were okay with it, some were dejected, and some... well, some refused to believe that Sirius was going with Lena. It seemed as if some gossip got out that Sirius had rejected Lena and that she took her rage out on him, and that was why he had seemed injured a bit back. It was like no one knew what Kettleburn had actually done. S[/i] irius got ready alone in the Gryffindor common room. He was admittedly running late, mostly due to nerves. After he and Lena had agreed to drop the subject about Kettleburn, things were awkward between them. He even had to ask again just to make sure that they were still going to the dance together. After all of that, Sirius felt a bit silly putting on his blonde, curly-haired wig. It was honestly a first for him, feeling stupid about dressing silly. It was probably because he figured that Lena was still upset with him, and therefore he thought that in her eyes he would seem even more ridiculous. He tried to not let it bother him, especially since she already knew what he would be wearing. He had already shown it to her before he ordered it. He honestly didn't know what the other Marauders would be wearing. It felt like he hadn't spoken to them in ages. It was beginning to become depressing. He had tried to persuade Remus to wear something ridiculous, but he didn't know if Moony would go for it. Sirius supposed that Remus didn't always have to look silly around Annelise. Sirius tried to ignore the nagging feeling that Annelise was really not fun enough to be with Remus. After slinging a bunch of arrows onto his back and grabbing his bow, Sirius departed from the boys' dormitory and out of the common room. He had agreed to meet Lena at the dance. He slipped through the corridors rather unnoticed considering most people were already in the transformed Great Hall. When Sirius actually reached the Great Hall, he was pleasantly surprised at what he saw when he walked in. Unlike last year where the Great Hall was absolutely disgusting in pink and red, this year it was toned down. It was almost like they merged winter wonderland theme with Valentine's Day. It seemed more intimate and romantic. There was snow falling softly from the ceiling, and almost everything looked as though it were iced over (although warm to the touch). The decorations were still hideously pink and red, but it was more like the roses that were on the tables and the accents on the decorations like tablecloths. Sirius didn't waste any time, however. He immediately pulled out one of his arrows, pointed it at the nearest person and hit them with it. The boy jumped in surprise, and then Sirius hit the nearest girl. Immediately, the two rushed at each other and embraced. Sirius chuckled. It was merely an attraction potion that he had put on the tips of the arrows. It was more of a ... smell that attracted the two. There was a smell for two arrows each. He assumed people may as well get laid on Valentine's Day, even if they were single. He looked around for Lena, but didn't immediately see her, so he casually continued to strike people with the arrows (he already had a bloke picked out for Snivellus), and then spiked the punch. He knew she knew to find him there. Not that he didn't stick out already.Outfit.[/justify][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Alecto had no date, she did not want one, truth of the matter was she was sort of tired of the dating game. Sure they were still in school but it all just became so ... blah, especially when you were within such close confines of one another. Sex was just easier. No strings attached was the best way to do it, though every now and then she found herself feeling dirty and the only way to cleanse herself was by a long hot shower and she knew that would never truly work, but for a short time she felt cleaner, not quite as whorish as she actually was.
Making her way up from the dungeons with a mass of other students from her own house, Alecto looked about at all the couples, there were a few cute boys tonight but the girls just all seemed utterly whorish, sort of like her though she had tried going for a different look tonight, a far more refined one than she was used to, but the dress she had chosen would have made her mother proud, almost. It dipped a little too low in front, but it was long, for once Alecto was actually wearing a dress that went below her knees and she actually looked somewhat feminine, not slutty.
Making her way into the great hall as the masses of students she'd arrived with lingered in the entrance hall to meet with others from different houses, Alecto looked about and got her barring. The drinks table was obviously the spot she wanted to head towards but she was certain someone would have spiked the drink by now and she was not willing to get drunk this evening. She was here to maybe have a couple of dances with a couple of different guys and girls and be off, though perhaps a spout of trouble would liven the place up.
A smirk made its way to Alecto's face as thoughts of torture trickled across her mind. Oh how many of these annoying students she could have writhing in pain, begging her for mercy. Her eyes flicked across to a guy dressed up in a ridiculous costume, she saw the back of his curly blonde head and rolled her eyes. She'd make him suffer the most for being an absolute idiot. She wasn't an overly tolerant person, that was for sure.
Making her way to the left of the room and skimming the crowd Alecto looked disinterested at everyone. She had her wand on her tucked away up underneath her dress so that it was still available to her. Her dress had long sleeves down over her arms so as to hide her dark mark that sat across her left forearm. Every now and then it itched and stung slightly, but it was a sensation she was growing used to, when your master called you the sensation was more intense and usually meant you had to be there, by his side, in a matter of seconds. Alecto was of course excused from this as she was a Hogwarts student and there was no way she could apparate within the castle, at least not yet but she heard rumours there were plans to bring down some of the certain protections around the castle. That would make quite a few things easier.

He adjusted his tie while looking in the mirror at the boys dorm. He had a rather interesting conversation with Colle, but he wasn’t going to let any of that put a damper on this night. Same with drinking, he would refuse to drink any of the punch, since he was not a huge fan of it anyway, even if it wasn’t spiked, which he clearly remembered from last year. Making sure his sleeves were flattering and covering his ever painful darkmark, he slipped the cuff links his mother sent them on and then back to the mirror. What should he do with his hair? That was the first thought that traveled through his mind, it was really long, and really straight. Not wanting to look like a hippie he turned toward his trunk and found a thin strip of green ribbon, carrying it back to the mirror he groaned. One thing he didn’t like was looking like a girl, but that wasn’t going to force him to shave his luscious locks. Gathering his long hair in his hands he pulled it back into a very low ponytail. Smoothing down any fly-aways he nodded, this would be fine. Making damn sure that he was ready he turned toward the door and pulled his Pea-coat off of the coat rack. ”I’ll catch you lot later…” he mumbled to whoever was left in the 7th year dorm. It wasn’t as if anyone cared in the least, so it didn’t really matter.
Making head way down through the common room which was still slightly loud, he was meeting Integra at the staircase in a few minutes. Feeling fresh he slipped through the stone doors and started climbing the stairs toward the Great Hall. He wasn’t nervous in the least, considering he was one of the purest of bloods on the grounds, or so that was what his mother had drilled into his head. Standing proud, he watched as Alecto moved into the Great Hall, nodding after making eye contact, she was gone in the crowd of all the other students. There was a lot on his mind right now and he leaned against the wall in the hallway. Maybe he should of shaved, rubbing his stubble he looked up at the ceiling. Surely something was going to go down tonight, but he wasn’t sure if he was ready for anything. Especially with that good for nothing Integra lingering about, Rabastan wanted someone who could hold their own, and be in complete control of their emotions. Tapping his foot, he looked down at his watch then toward the doors. Did he forget to tell Integra to meet him at the bottom of the staircase? No, he didn’t he clearly remembered telling her with an extremely rude tone. If he stood her up, he would feel much better. Atleast his parents believed he was going to the dance with someone of acceptable blood.
Taking in his surroundings he watched a ridiculous cupid wander into the great hall behind a crowd of people, obviously meandering. A sick smile spread across his lips as he watched the doorway not paying attention to if Integra was going to be here or not. He just wanted to murder that nit. Laughing he found himself hunched over. Now holding onto his stomach, he cackled so much that it hurt. He remember what he was going to do over the evening, and it wasn’t going to be pleasant for the ones in his way. This was his school, greed pulled out from the depths of his soul and he howled with ungrateful laughter, more evil than appealing. Strands of his hair fell into his face as he howled leaning against the wall at the bottom of the stairs right next to the large wooden doors to the Great Hall. Rabastan knew there would be people looking at him, but something snapped. Clothing

Unfortunately, Annelise couldn't meet Remus in the common room considering they were both in different houses. She had pulled her dark hair up into a loose bun with curls falling casually out of it. She spun around in front of a mirror on the girls' dormitory just to see the way her red dress moved. A housemate even allowed her to borrow lipstick to match her dress. She wasn't too sure that she was crazy about the lipstick, but mainly because she didn't usually wear it. She hoped Remus would like it, but if not she was sure she would be able to take it off. Annelise threw the white shawl that she had gotten with the dress around her shoulders. It may be a bit, well, warm, but for all she knew the two might leave the dance to go for a walk. Sometimes dances overwhelmed Annelise, especially since she had been so rubbish lately with keeping up with her notes about people. It was like she was forgetting who everyone was. She was usually good at keeping away from unkind people, but it was becoming more and more difficult.
Annelise made her way into the bustling Great Hall. Her brown eyes flicked over the room in hopes that they would fall upon the somewhat mousey brown hair of her boyfriend. Unfortunately, no such thing happened, so she wandered over to the punch bowl, where Sirius mysteriously just walked away from after glancing at her. She tried to ignore him. For some reason, she felt as if Sirius didn't like her. She didn't express her worries with Remus just in case she was being, well, silly. Annelise poured herself a glass of punch and tried to ignore anyone looking at her. She didn't know why a couple of Ravenclaw boys chuckled when she put the punch to her lips, but after a nervous gulp, she suddenly knew why. If Sirius had spiked the punch, he wasn't the first one to it. She spat it out, as it burned her throat. No doubt it was Firewhiskey. She smiled awkwardly at those around her as she took another more modest sip. She didn't want to put the cup back down. Besides, she was going to be of age within the next week, so she didn't see why she couldn't indulge just a little bit. Besides, she and Remus had already gone as far as they could go, so it wasn't like he could exactly take advantage of her.
She continued to wander aimlessly around the room. However, when one boy shoved another too hard, Annelise had gotten in the way. One boy knocked into her, which incidentally knocked her into another student. Due to this, she spilled her punch all down her front and all over her white shawl. Embarrassed, she tried to laugh it off. She looked around, but neglected to see Remus. She figured she had enough time to go put it back into the Hufflepuff common room. She discarded her empty cup and exited the Great Hall, only to see a peculiar sight. A rather frightful-looking Slytherin boy was hunched over laughing hysterically. She stood in one moment before cautiously making her way over. Annelise never discriminated against Houses, unless they discriminated against her first.
"Are you alright?" Annelise asked. She tried to come off as approachable, but really just hoped that he wouldn't curse her for asking.

Alecto met Rabastan's gaze before she'd moved into the great hall and so knew it wouldn't be long until he was about with his date of the evening. She'd heard rumours that he was going with Integra Echoes and knew the two had been seen about a couple of times but hadn't thought of asking him or her, after all it wasn't any of her business and she didn't give too much of a hoot anyway, what she did care about was what she was going to do for the evening, the lack of alcohol was probably a good idea for her. Boring but good. It would keep her out of too much trouble for now, but the thought of maybe just one little drink was exceedingly tempting, but she'd resist, for now. She wanted to behave herself for at least one evening.
The sound of manic laughter was like soft music to Alecto's ears, she knew it was probably Rabastan and so used her time of mulling around to walk back the way she came, towards the entrance hall. The music was loud enough but Rabastan's laughter was simply too enchanting to ignore. Peeking around the door frame as students filled into the great hall with their dates for the evening, Alecto saw a little Hufflepuff approaching Rabastan. Alecto smiled cruelly to herself imagining the fun they could all have with that pretty little thing.
Deciding to leave the two alone Alecto pulled her head back into the great hall, wondrous thoughts filling her mind of torturing the little girl. From what Alecto understood she was the girlfriend of one Remus Lupin. Remus Lupin. There was something irritatingly mysterious about that boy but Alecto was going to give him any space in her mind, not now, instead she decided she might just get herself a drink, no matter how against it she had previously been, after all she was feeling a little more excited about this whole valentine's party now. It would be easy to walk off with a fellow student and then not have them heard of again.
Walking to the punch bowl Alecto poured herself a drink. There were some boys close by snickering to one another every time someone got a drink. Alecto wanted to curse them all so badly but knew she wouldn't be able to get away with much now, maybe later, so she poured herself a little plastic cup of spiked punch, raised her glass to the boys with a wink and took a sip before making her way into the crowd of mingling people, really wanting to pick herself out a prime candidate for a bit of fun, be it torture or otherwise.

Petra Echoes never quite understood how she’d come to raise such a sinister girl for a daughter. When Integra was born she always assumed the then tiny infant would grow in Petra’s image. But as a scrawny young thing, Integra took more after her father, a dark man by the name of Nikolai Echoes. Their daughter started out a wicked child and has been since. The most Petra could hope for her dark minded daughter, was that she’d marry into a high standing family. So naturally when she’d gotten word of Integra’s date for the Valentine’s Day ball, Petra was more than overjoyed.
Integra on the other hand, was uncertain. Going alone meant she could wear whatever she wanted, do whatever she wanted, and drink as much as she wanted. Going with Rabastan meant something entirely different. And she wasn’t entirely sure how she felt about that. Taking a deep breath she let her long fingers wind her hair tightly into a neat bun. She’d used magic to cover all her tattoos. Even the ones not visible. Letting the breath out she fastened the bun and turned from the mirror. Pulling on her shoes she looked around. She was running a little late. Mostly because she was scared of going down to meet him. Thinking about taking a gulp or two from her private reserves, Integra smoothed her dress and decided against it as she turned out of her dorm.
Making the trip into the entrance hall wasn’t as easy as she thought. Not a lot of people recognized her without her normal attire or her tattoos. So the younger more impressionable students didn’t part as she walked down the corridor. She actually had to stop as one third year ran right into her. “Get out of my freakin’ WAY!!!!” Her loud echoing order cleared the corridor entirely as she stalked the rest of the way to the entrance hall. She mumbled a “For fuck’s sake!” Before smoothing out her mood and approaching her date. Another girl was standing very near him and she drew in a breath.
For reasons she couldn’t explain on her own, she felt jealousy boiling in her chest. But she was supposed to play nice tonight. And while Rabastan looked like a lunatic cackling in the hall, she still knew she had to follow his requests. Stepping up she looked at the poor little hufflepuff and smiled. The corner of her eye caught the unmistakable blond head of Alecto Carrow and she breathed a little. It was nice to know there was more of their kind around tonight. “Rabastan…” Looping her arm into his she smiled at him. “Stop teasing. You’re going to scare the younger students. Such impressionable poor little creatures.” Turning to Annelise she smiled. “Integra Echoes. Pleasure.” Her sickly warm honey brown eyes glinted at the girl as she extended a pale boney hand to her.

if the clouds are just too high I F I T O S S A N D T U R N A N D F A L L B Y T H E W A Y S I D E , J U S T F O L L O W T H E S T A R S • || • || • || • || • || • || • || • || • || • || • || • L IFE had a bad habit of surprising Lena lately. From the whole Professor Kettleburn thing, to the detentions, to the thestrals, the fight with Sirius, even getting asked to the Valentines Day dance by Sirius. All of it kept throwing her for a loop. Her last detention was rescheduled because Kettleburn’s injuries were too bad to have it so it would be later on in the week. As if she really minded that. What she did mind was how Sirius got hurt, then actually picked a fight with her, and then people kept saying that she hurt him or something and that the dance invite was from blackmail on her part. How insulting was that? He had asked her fair and square, even if it had been a surprise. It was a nice one though. She hadn’t gone to last year’s Valentine Dance because no one had asked her. So it was definitely a highlight for her. All the rest of the troubles and drama could wait for another day. The day of the dance was going to be for her and letting loose, enjoying herself with her friends.
Finding the perfect dress for the dance, as well as everything that went with it, was harder than she had thought it would be because she wanted to look extra special while being on THE Sirius Orion Black’s arm. Girl’s would be glaring at her, or watching her to see her mess up all night. And she wanted to make sure she looked perfect to rub it in their faces that they couldn’t faze her. The white dress and black jewelry was perfect. The dress was strapless and fitted, the choker offset it, small earrings in the shape of hearts for the day, plus a bit of flash, bangles on her wrist to help even it out, and then white and black heels so it would all match. On the night of the dance, once she’d gotten everything on and had curled her hair even more to make it into large curls, Lena decided she actually looked really good and hoped it would stop Sirius’, and all the girls who hated her right now, hearts.
They would just go ahead and meet up at the dance and Lena was definitely looking forward to seeing Sirius in his costume. Walking into the dance she looked around, not seeing a blonde cupid right off hand, but started moving around to see if she could find him anyway. It took a bit of time to work her way through the crowd to the drinks area, considering how many were there plus she had to keep stopping and talking to people. But finally she saw Sirius, right as he shot another couple and they ran at each other. Rolling her eyes, she laughed in amusement and snuck up behind him, sliding her arm around his waist in hopes of surprising him. “How’s it goin’ Cupid? Where’s the God of Love’s date for the night, huh?”

Sirius was beginning to believe that the Valentine's Day dance was Slytherin-only. He didn't regret his costume whatsoever, but what would normally be amused smiles were currently just loathing glares. He didn't mind, but rather just shot a few more people with his arrows. He doubted he'd get in trouble for such an infatuation love potion, especially since he more expected the Professors to be, well, impressed. He didn't think it was dangerous. Then again, he didn't think about what could happen if someone mixed the love potion in the arrows with the alcohol in the punch. He kept an eye out for Snivellus, but continued to just shoot randomly. On the one hand, he hoped he wouldn't accidentally break couples up, but on the other hand... relationships really get in the way of friendships. James was always fawning after Lily, and Remus had begun to be missing in action all the time since he was following Annelise around (at least this was the way Sirius saw it). Even when he and Lena were almost-a-thing, he still didn't think he acted in the same way that they did.
"God of Love?" Sirius replied in an amused tone. He turned around and handed her a drink quickly. "How can you make such an assumption if you've never received a night of my love?"
Sirius rasied his eyebrows at her in a questioning fashion as he took a sip of his drink. It was extremely strong. As much as he admired Lena for coming with him despite his ridiculous costume, he kind of knew many of girls would. They would do anything for such a pretty face, even going through embarassing situations. It was funny - although Sirius didn't want a relationship, the more he felt like Lena may be interested in the scumbag of a Professor, Kettleburn, the more Sirius seemed to try for her attention.
He looked at her outfit and smiled. The heels were high, but Sirius was still much taller. He touched part of the bottom of her dress and said, "Decided to not opt for red this time?"
Sirius admittedly, for once, didn't know what to talk with her about. It felt like there was a grey cloud above them at all times, constantly reminding him about how Lena defended Kettleburn despite the man's stupidity, and despite the fact Kettleburn got Sirius injured. It was nagging at him like nothing else, and the only thing Sirius really hoped for that evening was for Kettleburn to not show up to 'supervise.'

He looked at the Hufflepuff girl with a dark smile, she was beautiful, and oh how he wished to bed her, but that wasn’t what Rab wanted. He wanted Sirius’ head on a platter, and he wanted to deliver it to Bella, that would win her trust over. A sneer played the corners of his lips and it merged with the slits of his eyes. It was going to be a grim dance, and he was looking forward to it. “No, everything is not alright,” Rabastan’s voice was cold and he wasn’t about to soften up. He had nothing against the Hufflepuff’s who did to begin with? He just had an issue with people being nosey and in his business. Not to mention, this particular Hufflepuff has been seen with one particular Gryffindor, and that particular Gryffindor was a part of a particular non-sanctioned gang within the walls of this particular school. No he had no issue with her, not at all.
The faint clicking of high heels on stone snapped him out of his dazed blood filed thoughts. Maybe magic wasn’t for him, maybe a knife would do the trick better? He didn’t want to be frowned upon as a failure of a Death Eater, it wasn’t right to be thinking about these things. “Integra, I do not scare the younger students, I terrify them.” Rab snapped at her, looked at Annelise. “Where is your dear Remus now?” A laugh echoed off the walls of the hallway, but he looked at her. “You are not worth my time peasant, your niceness will run out eventually and you will begin to tire of people walking all over you. Take it from a pro.” A look of smugness strung his face and he grabbed Integra by the arm forcefully. He wasn’t feeling right, something happened to him over night, or rather, over a matter of minutes. “My dear, please learn where you tread, some snakes are lethal and won’t hesitate to bite when you step on their tails.” Moving away from Annelise he pulled Integra with him until they were out of sight in a sea of adoration, it nearly made Rabastan vomit.

if the clouds are just too high I F I T O S S A N D T U R N A N D F A L L B Y T H E W A Y S I D E , J U S T F O L L O W T H E S T A R S • || • || • || • || • || • || • || • || • || • || • || • T HE use of the arrows was not lost on her but; frankly, she didn’t really feel like being the nagging friend for the night. She was dressed up and wanted to just relax and enjoy some real quality time with her boys. And though most of that time would be with Sirius, who she wanted to spend time with anyway so they can get back into the way they used to be, she was looking forward to seeing Remus, James, and Peter. They would all be around the dance at some point. James would be chasing after Lily, Peter would be awkward in a corner more than likely, and Remus would be with Annelise. Just them all hanging out together as a group would be great as it hadn’t happened in a while. What with being busy getting ready for their final year and the detentions and everything else that seemed to be happening. So, the little love arrows, was the least of her notice. As long as it didn’t hurt anyone. Which, Lena hoped, Sirius was trying to avoid. Once next to him and where they could talk, it made things easier.
Lena took the drink, and arched an eyebrow at it, knowing he’d probably had spiked it pretty hard and resolved herself to not drinking the punch much. But, to humor him, she took a small sip of the punch and it still made her shut her eyes as the burn slid down her throat and made her tear. She laughed as she shook her head a little bit. “Tastes like you put in a little bit much, Sirius.” Feeling like it, and just wanting to piss off all the girls glaring at her, her body shifted to lean against his slightly. It served a double purpose so she wouldn’t teeter so much on her high heels. “Just because I’ve never received a night of it, doesn’t mean I haven’t heard of it. Many girls are calling you the God of Love. I think it’s actually quite cute,” suddenly remembering how he didn’t like to be called that she smiled and reiterated. “Sorry, I mean I think it is very fitting and amusing that you’re actually dressed as Cupid.”
When he fiddled with the skirt of the dress she just shrugged slightly and gave him another smile. Heels or not, the man still had a lot on her and always would unless she used a levitation charm or something. It was something you just had to get used to when you hit your peak height and knew you wouldn’t be growing any further. “Do you not like the dress?” It was only a tease. Lena knew he liked the dress and everything that went with it. Letting out a small shrug she shifted her hips slightly so the skirt of the dress would move a little to be playful. “I thought I would go for a more original style instead of the same old red, pink, and black for Valentine’s.” With that comment a reminder popped into her head and she nudged him with her hip slightly, turning to face him for a moment, looking up into his face seriously. “Thank you for inviting me, you know.” Her face lit up into a bright smile before she moved from in front of him, not wanting to be in the way or in range of being trampled upon.

Was Adeline ready to go to her first school dance with a date? Hell yes she was! She had spent her entire morning getting ready away from the other girls. They were all so giddy and news moved like a wild fire. It’s not like she didn’t care, but she was more or less worried someone was going to tell her father, and she was the one that wanted to write him about it. She was going to wait until the dance was over to do so, she didn’t want him ruining a perfect night if she could help it, but it wasn’t as if he was going to be mad about the whole. ‘my-daughter-is-going-with-a-Slytherin’ thing, he would just be protective about it, and he would tell her to be on her toes for anything suspicious, being an auror and all.
All things aside, she slipped into her blue and black dress with a bright smile. She had her hair up in rollers all morning to tame the frizz from the humidity and then put a charm on her locks so that they would stay put instead of stay flat. Adeline knew how to do hair like a muggle, because her parents would sometimes enforce ‘no-magic-Wednesday’ just so they got a taste of what it was like to live as a muggle and teach them how lucky they were to have magic. Addie never bothered to whine about it for fear of getting grounded, and she listened to her father and hung onto his every word, and she would never twist words to get what she wanted, she was definitely not that kind of person.
Looking at herself in the mirror of the girl’s dorm she took in a deep breath and centered herself. Putting on the silver bracelets her father sent her, she grinned. Heading out to the foot of her bed she found her blue strappy heels and slipped them on. They weren’t nearly as high as the shoes she was wearing with Kaine the first time she confronted him, but they were more comfortable for dancing in. How did she know this? She danced around the girls dormitory that’s how, even though she had gotten looks of disgust, she continued on as if it were nothing.
Tucking her wand down the left side of her dress and underneath her strapless bra she nodded. Who knows what was actually going to happen tonight. She remembers last year, but not quite vividly, and she knew better than to leave her dorm without some sort of protection, especially now. Finally one last check up and she was ready to leave.
Making headway out through the portrait of the fat lady she bid her a good evening. It was sad that even the pictures knew she wasn’t going with a Gryffindor, but what harm could a picture do to her, aside from verbal abuse. The staircases just shifted so she had to judge her way down, and she found it. It was a short trip and she was glad they had shifted the way they did, straight down. Adeline was far too excited and she knew this, her speed was impeccable and she wanted to see him, without a care in the world she was going to actually dance with someone she wanted to dance with. Not some stander-by, but Kaine Gates, the Slytherin who actually had a brain and used it. Coming to the base of the grand staircase she stopped and waited. They said they would meet here, but there were to many students to look through, and they weren’t invisible so it made it difficult.
Hands out front of her, she refused to carry anything in case it got stolen, and carrying a clutch just got in the way. So here she stood, alone, on the first step of the staircase, waiting.

The chimes from the clock on her night stand rung out the time and she giggled. It was another brilliant day and she just couldn’t get over how cute her new clock was. She purchased it while in Hogsmeade, but it was just some novelty she thought her mother would like. Grabbing a few candies out of a little dish she had hidden away she smiled. Ashlin loved candy, every flavor every kind it didn’t matter to her, after all she wasn’t allergic to anything. Skipping out of the 6th year dorm in her very flamboyant dress and her bright yellow boots, purse full of different flavors from Honeydukes. ”There we are! This should last me all nigh’! ‘Least I hope it does.” Dropping her wand into the black purse she was carrying she was off with a smile.
Running down the stairs was a breeze, and she refused to wear high heels that would hinder that. Ashlin hadn’t a care in the world for anything at this particular moment, but she was really excited that tonight was the dance and there would be even more candy, not only more, but seasonal candy. She loved holiday’s that came with flavours. A huge grin was across her face and she didn’t know why, Ashlin refused to go with anyone to the dances the school held, boys would just hinder her habit and no one would fully appreciate the art of chocolate. Learning from Patty’s experiences, he told her to stay away from the punch bowl, so she did.
Waltzing past Annelise she smiled. “Hey how ya doin’ I be likin’ tha dress ya be wearin’ it looks mighty cute on ya! Yer hair is really cute too, Remus be a lucky lad tonigh’.” Ashlin was the talkative sort and she always spark conversation but rarely finished them when it was more than one person, she moved quickly complimenting everyone on her way in, telling them how handsome they were, and how cute pairs looked together. It may not be noticeable, but she has a mean streak, but only when you get her really angry. Other than that she was just the fun loving sort!
Her tiny body made it easy to slip between Rabastan and Integra.”’Scuse me ya two, but there be a table with me name on it, righ’ o’er there.” With her arms open wide she made a bee-line for the snack table, eyes glittering in the light. She saw what she thought was Sirius Black talking to Lena Becket, it wasn’t hard to recognize people when they dressed so pretty, but she had one thing on her mind and that was, candy.

Annelise heard a girl shouting in the distance but didn't think anything of it. Like usual, there was probably more alcohol flowing than usual being consumed under the what-should-be the watchful eye of authority. She didn't mind, however, but it made people occasionally turn, well, rude. Not that the students weren't rude to start with. It was strange how everyone seemed to think that Hogwarts was full of well-mannered children. It was just like any school with kids with raging hormones, except they all had to live together.
She wasn't too worried about it until she heard the familiar clicking of a woman's shoes. She turned to see Integra. She never really interacted with her before, and as much as Annelise disliked judging people on looks alone - Integra was intimidating. She had beautiful dark hair, and more tattoos than Annelise could count. Annelise didn't see the point in such a Muggle thing as tattoos for someone in a House usually so determined to be against anything Muggle, but to each their own. She wouldn't voice her opinion on it mainly due to the fact that she wasn't always stupid. Integra continued to overdo herself and snaked her arm into the Slytherin boy's.
"Younger students?" Annelise repeated, incredulously without meaning to. She regretted the words the moment she spoke them. She usually thought about she was going to say before she said it a little better, but the comment caught her off-guard. Integra was only in the year above her own. It hardly made Annelise so much younger, and depending on when the girl's birthday was, she doubted that they were even a year apart. Annelise looked away awkwardly in hopes that Integra or the boy hadn't heard her. Instead, she accepted the cold hand of Integra in what would be a friendly manner, smiled to the best of her ability and said, "Annelise Westerhof."
Annelise figured that Integra already knew who she was. She didn't want to sound cocky, but most people nowadays did. Despite the fact that Annelise didn't really have many friends, the moment she began dating one of the Marauders was the last time she had anonmity at the school. However, she wasn't sure if Slytherins kept up with the latest Marauders gossip. By the look on both of their faces, however, she was beginning to think that they cared even more than the average student.
Annelise frowned at the boy's rude tone. She had the sudden impulse to tell him that it wasn't exactly normal for someone to start cackling randomly and should probably go to the Hospital Wing to get his head checked, but she held her tongue. The thought alone came as a surprise to Annelise, as she was usually much more polite. She couldn't help but think that what happened to her brother last year affected her in more ways than she even realized.
However, she hated herself for jumping when the boy suddenly stared at her.
Annelise blinked. "I didn't know you were on a first name basis with him."
Stupid! Stupid! were her immediate thoughts after the words escaped from her mouth. She was sick of everyone talking to her like she was nothing. She was sick of assuming she was a pushover just because she was a Hufflepuff or because she was shy. None of them even knew what had happened to her or her family, and she knew they wouldn't care. They were rude because they never expeirenced anything traumatizing. She doubted that they could have, or else they would be more sympathetic. Annelise didn't know what was going on with her, but she could feel her pulse raising and her heart pounding against her chest. For the first time, she actually felt rage towards another student, and she didn't know what caused it.
She was immensely relieved to see a fellow Hufflepuff in Ashlin. She hoped her face wasn't too red when she said, "Thank you! You look very pretty yourself."
Annelise mentally beat herself up. Now not only did she seem like a pushover, she seemed like the cutesy type who used words like "pretty." She wished Ashlin would just take Annelise with her.
"I'm just going to go," she mumbled quickly to the Slytherins, hoping that damage hadn't been done. She tried to calm her rushed breathing, but was finding it difficult. His question was quickly becoming exactly what was on her mind, Where was Remus?

Post by Sirius Black! on Oct 15, 2011 4:44:52 GMT 1
Sirius was beginning to think he'd be the only Marauder in attendance at the dance, which displeased him. It felt like he hadn't seen James in ages. Peter, too. Honestly, somewhere deep in Sirius' heart he kind of felt disappointed in them. They weren't the Marauders if there were only one or two of them. They needed all four to become joined.
Sirius saw the look in Lena's eye about the arrows, but he didn't care. She was fully aware of how he was coming dressed, and she knew better by now than to assume that he wasn't going to pull pranks. Besides, he had been working on this gem for a fortnight now and he wasn't about to let this baby go. It was too good. He only wished James and Lily were around. How much would he absolutely love to make Lily chase around James for once? The thought amused him for a moment, but then disgusted him. He didn't really think he would care for that, because then all he would hear was bragging from James until the end of time until James died alone and a virgin.
Sirius laughed in an amused fashion at the look on Lena's face as she took her drink. "No, you're just tasting the love potion," he joked. He couldn't help but chuckle even more the more she spoke. It was like she was a comedian that night. He didn't know what was up with her, but she was even willingly leaning against him. Usually she put up more of a fight, but he supposed he wasn't going to complain. It was better than them bickering, even if it was just for a night. Besides, he was Cupid that night, not Sirius... right? "Asking around for my in-bed tricks? You know, all you'd have to do is ask..."
Sirius wished he was kidding, but he wasn't. Well, mostly wasn't. On the one hand, he would obviously love to take her around the block. She was one of few girls who he wanted to defile who he hadn't. On the other hand, he didn't want feelings for her, which was just as hard as it was to defile her, apparently. No, having sex with her wasn't going to make him fall magically in love with her, but he doubted it would get the nagging thoughts out of his mind. Then he'd be able to picture her naked even better, and for some reason, that seemed like a dangerous thing. The thought of Silvanus then flickered through Sirius' mind, and the rush of testosterone suddenly dropped. A little bit.
"No, no, I love the dress," Sirius quickly replied. "Can't hate something so short."
He was tempted to ask her if she was wearing anything underneath, but wasn't sure if that was being way too forward. Well, with her. Normally he probably just would have asked, but he had learned by now that everything with Lena was more complicated. Was it his fault things were complicated? Of course it was. It was Sirius, after all.
"Why wouldn't I invite you?" he paused and then couldn't resist adding, "Didn't want you coming alone."
The snide comment made him laugh, and then he took a drink from his cup. He emptied it and handed it to some blonde girl before grabbing Lena's hand and headed to the dance floor. He wasn't much of a dancer, but it was easier with his good looks to fake it... besides, he was able to pause every now and then to take shots at people with his arrows.
